  1. The Club should offer a refund to those that want it. People bought a ticket to attend matches at Ashton Gate, nothing else. Personally, I don't want to pay full dollar for a TV experience, have already paid for next year's ticket and don't buy stuff from the shop. A refund is the only thing I will accept from them.

  2. Strange, I too was in Gran Canaria sitting poolside in my city shirt when I spotted a guy in the pool. Nearing lunchtime it was obvious that he had one over the eight and was generally making an exhibition of himself and frightening the children. To my horror I saw him clamber out of the pool and motion to his wife and then look in my direction, i caught his eye and not wishing to engage in conversation with someone in that condition and widely considered the resident hotel drunk I beat a hasty retreat. I returned home that afternoon.

  4. Personally I don’t expect any money back for this season. There does seem to be a culture brewing where everyone (not just football fans) want to be compensated for a global pandemic. Fact is everyone is financially &/or emotionally affected by this and we’re going to have our pockets hit hard. When it comes to banks, airlines or fat cat retailers etc fair enough. But when it’s your local football club I don't get the notion of a refund that could create a disadvantage to your club unless the funds are needed rather than wanted. That’s where I believe it should be optional

  5. I'd like it if someone got confused and the club kept the £100 and gave me the two million. A number of posters seem to be getting confused between SL's money, and the money the club have. Not the same. Anyway, let's not panic here, players are training and once a decision is made and formally communicated l, dare say the options for fans will soon follow.

  6. For me, I buy my season ticket on the assumption of 23 games but hope for 19 (as always advance purchase so the prem may happen!) so on that basis I could say I’m covered. More seriously, I think what there has to be here is some collective thinking from all 24 championship sides. Different question lower down as refunds of STs with loss of other revenue may kill clubs in L1 and L2. What I’d like to see is the option for ST holders across the championship to opt for no refund but a live stream of every game - home and away. The games could then be available on a per game cost as well

  7. Need to take into account where there’s multiple season tickets per household. In many cases this equates to far more than the price of a live stream.

  8. The problem is that some people may not have seen any income in the last 10 weeks and may need that money and money they paid out on season tickets already for next year . Some supporters may need that £100 a lot more than the club at the moment.

  9. Play offs 2008 - I was in a remote part of Spain when the first leg vs Palace took place. Found a small bar in the Spanish mountains and to my delight they were showing the game. There was about 5 people in the bar. Long story short, we scored and I jumped around making a bit of a fool of myself then realised two other guys at the back of the bar were doing the same - they were from Bedminster - small world out there!

  10. Really not fussed about a refund on this season. Long since spent and gone. I'd decline it, if that's an option. I hope not to hear anyone who takes it, complain about transfer business in the future.

  13. Players (on £20K pw) are more important than fans ( many of whom are furloughed, laid off, or soon to lose their jobs when the economy crashes). Unbelievable arrogance from PNE. I suspect other Championship clubs will follow.

  14. I don’t know why everyone seems to have expected something already, before there is any announcement on the season conclusion. I’m sure that any sensible club (?) would have planned for all possible outcomes to the season, with scenarios for ST holders to be shared externally as and when conclusions are made.

  15. Well I’ve completed a 10 week training course. Eaten very healthy and didn’t have 1 beer . It’s has been very difficult but got easier as the weeks went on . I have lost a total of 33 pounds and inches of my body . And I am in a much better place. This has been an horrific time . But I have used it in a positive way I had to. I have a new course to start Monday. But I am going to have a ice cold Birra Moretti which has been waiting for me patiently. Stay safe everyone and up the city .

  16. I think there will be a range of options e.g.: refund pro-rata 5/23 access to Robinstv credit on merchandise let club keep it etc don’t forget parking season tickets too....same principles Not everything will be easy to implement, but refund has to be at least one of the options. For me, happy to let club have season ticket money, but I’ll want a refund on parking, or money off next season’s parking season ticket.

  17. Surely the club will be in breach of contract if refunds are not offered. As a 'customer' I fully expect to be refunded for goods offered and then not supplied.

  18. Isn’t Robins TV £5 a game? We’ve missed 6 home games which my ticket equates to £22ish a game. I’ll be having that refunded, I don’t go to Tesco and only come home with half my shopping!

  19. I don't think we will see any money back or off of merch or next seasons tickets, it doesn't make financial sense to any club to put themselves in financial trouble by issuing money back when effectively its already spent on next seasons wages. Many of us, myself included, have already purchased next seasons tickets in full. So that money in my mind is spent im not expecting it back, I'm hoping that with that money the club can continue to operate. For this and next season I would happily accept digital access to the games live if it can be made possible. I'm pretty sure the

  20. Well it was really-really good seeing and hearing fans last night at a game. There were around 20 away fans as well, they all hugged together after every goal and they won 6-0 so there were a lot of physical contact between them, social distancing is in the past from this moment here I think... Game was decent (especially because it was a relegation fight between the 11th and 12th), 6 good goals including a stunner, here You can watch all six goals in the 1st video and the vibe from the stands. https://m4sport.hu/kaposvari-rakoczi-fc/cikk/2020/05/29/a-kaposvar-kiutesevel-menekul-a-

  24. Couple of years back we booked tickets to see Rammstein in their own country. Flew to Berlin got to the ground. Sold out, 80,000 in the stadium, fought my way to prime standing location near the stage. English voice behind me, so got chatting. Season ticket from the south stand, block S21. Small world

  25. Went to Madrid for the weekend to watch Real Madrid. Was just walking the back streets when we came across a bar so went in. When inside the bar had city scarfs and photos. Talking to the owner he had worked at Avonmouth docks and been transferred to Madrid and stayed to open the bar after the docks job had finished. This was at least 15 years ago so maybe gone now. I believe fate took us in that bar that day

  26. No worries. To others thanks for the interest in the fund there is a link here. https://bristolcareworkersnetwork.org/2020/03/17/bristol-health-and-care-workers-solidarity-fund/ I wasn't going to post it as I didn't want to spam, but if people do want to share the word then that would be cool. We've raised more than the total donated there and are quite keen to give away what we can so if you know struggling carers then let them know.

I’ve often said the demands of the champ and training are tough for an 18 year old. He has had a break to build himself us, could be even better on resumption. Hope so anyway.

They just can't help themselves, even at a time like this........... “Then there was being given the opportunity to take on mic duties for a short while before the play off final at the new Wembley, where we beat Grimsby in front of 60,000 fans, a match that saw us return to the league at the first attempt. That was something else!" Some bloke called Day who took over from Valle. The fact it was 47029,is obviously close enough ,for them !

  31. I would like to see the club offer a number of options, I think a refund has to be on the table if people are struggling financially, other options could be kiosk/shop credit, access to games being streamed, hospitality upgrades or donating the money to the club or the academy. Every person has different circumstances and priorities, I think PNE decision leaves a bad taste, paying players tens of thousands of pounds whilst keeping funds from fans who are now living on the breadline is not a good look. Clubs have to be careful about alienating parts of it's core fanbase plus also not

  34. If you were a family of 4 and all got the option of being able to watch games being streamed, then sure you at least would want 3 season tickets worth refunded. Otherwise you are getting a terrible deal. I'm afraid the only fair thing to do is refund and players will have to take a paycut if they want football to survive.

  35. That's what I thought. The Premiership has made a decision on football returning, the Championship is yet to do so. I think the meeting is due on 8th June so maybe a decision will be made after this

  36. This is a little off topic but to do with city and fans. Anyone remember the Portsmouth FA Cup tie away? There was a pompy fan in the stand to the left who was getting a lot of chants towards him and reacting so much he got kicked out. Anyway a few years later I met him in a hostel in a little Australian town in WA.

  37. A refund should be due. If easyJet offer refunds, then the club will! Non-refundable hotel bookings are being refunded under the same reason of obligation not met for payment. If I've paid £260 odd more for my seat in Lansdown Central compared to South Stand, free to air matches mean **** all in relation to refunds. It's more good will for those who still want to watch the games.

  38. No mention of a refund yet... But DD's held and obligation to attend matches cannot be fulfilled. It's ok if they want to allow online streaming, but this isn't what people paid for. Plus difference between the more expensive or cheaper prices people have paid. Will have to wait until the season has ended I expect.

  39. It’s clear to see why so many managers have taken Wilbs on board over the years. A professional in every sense of the word. Being tentatively mixed on LJ compared to clear admiration for Cotts seems to be the case with most of the title winning side, I do wonder to what extent the loyalty towards Cotterill held us back for a couple years. The Tomlin and LJ situation also sounded like it got a little tense to say the least. I would suggest that Alby’s account on the fredericks debacle was missing a key event though... I know first hand making an interview sound as effortless as

  42. In which case we should choose the fans with the biggest presence of all to make the stadium appear as full as possible. I nominate: @bigbash he could throw a socially distanced party outside afterwards if we win. @biggythecity he can chant 'THE CITY' all game. @BigP he can make up for the lack of numbers in the toilets. @BigTone only if he promises not to put the players off by wearing one of his favourite shirts! @Big Nose not in a seat near the front where his gigantic proboscis would interfere with play. Although perhaps useful to trip up a dangerous opposit

  46. The company I worked for sponsored the programme that day . My reward was to present David Noble with the man of match and also have my picture with him . That all sounds very pleasant and I had a very serious role to play that day in representing the company . However the joy of watching city’s promotion coupled with way too much blackthorn meant the picture I had with him was me with my arms around him , shirt hanging out , flies undone( no idea why) and looking ridiculously pissed . David Nobel looked quite bemused. The best thing was that city took a formal photo of that as part of the
