  1. Ah yes, but let’s not forget that the Gas with their ‘massive’ fanbase...which is lower than Lincoln, Rotherham, Blackpool and MK Dons (FFS ?) are, apparently, bigger than many clubs in the Championship ?? I wonder who he means by ‘the enemies’? Deluded idiots...

  2. I'm a bit bored in a zoom meeting which is going on for ever with some smarmy yank waffling away ('Hey Buck,' arsehole) so I've been doing a little comparison between delusion central and one of the teams the druggy said they are bigger than. I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions as it's obviously too tight to call. Fulham v scum comparison Capacity: Craven cottage 29,600 The dump 12,300 Average crowd: Fulham 17,752 (reduced capacity) ****ts 7397 Squad value: Fulham £83.88M https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-fulham/transfers/verein/931 Scum £3.87M https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bristol-rovers/transfers/verein/2455 Games in major European competitions Fulham 47, including 2 finals, one as recent as 2010. Tent dwellers Erm 0 although they all went to Benidorm on a beano. Years in the top flight: Fulham 26 Deluders Erm 0 Money spent on stadium developments in the last 12 months Fulham £100M, new riverside stand Camp site Erm 0 Current league position Fulham 3rd in the Championship Berks Nowhere near the Championship Years in non league Fulham 0 NLBR there’s a clue in the NLBR I don't see how anyone can separate the 2 TBH. ?

  3. Ah but according to BP................. Here’s hoping The Colony development is a success, and then full attention can turn to delivering a new home which will unlock the huge potential of Bristol Rovers and its fanbase.

  4. Really hard to disagree with any of that anyalsis. 6000 or so thousand of the great unwashed per home game and a "stadium" which is the envy of.....absolutely no one. I am struggling to think of any team in any division that would gladly swap either fan base or stadium with Moron FC. So that really sets them apart from everyone. They are on a par with no one. The list of teams they mentioned are something they would aspire to. If you were pushed you would say likes of Accrington Stanley, Southend United, Gillingham and Fleetwood could be used as a fair comparison to their current state. They could have no complaints with that. Anyway ground for ground they lose every single time. Accrington Stanley - On par - Room to develop if necessary. AFC Wimbledon - No Blackpool - No Bolton - No Moron FC Coventry City No Doncaster United - No Fleetwood Town - On Par r Gillingham - No Ipswich Town - No MK Dons - No Lincoln City - On Par.... but Lincoln would take it everyday if you had a choice Oxford United - No Peterborough - No Portsmouth - No Rochdale - On par, but once again you would take that over Memorial Rotherham - No Shrewsbury Town - No Southend - On par, but you would take this over Memorial Sunderland - No Tranmere - No Wycombe Wanderers - No

  5. Thing is, we’ve seen enough examples of this sort of delusion over the years to know that these beliefs are pretty much the norm up at the Mem amongst the blue few. Imagine standing in a half empty, 12k capacity stadium full of tents and chatting about how much bigger ‘da Gas’ are than clubs like Fulham, Charlton and Blackburn Rovers? Absolute weapons. ?

  6. Chelsea WSL champions, Liverpool relegated and Villa promoted Female pundit on SSN saying 'perhaps the mens team will now invest in the ladies team to get them back to where they should be'.... why should the mens team be funding the ladies team? Surely thats a situation we want to avoid? Inflating ladies football finances where there's not the sustainability in their own finances

  10. The most endangered plants in the UK include the Lady Orchid. It would be a real shame for them were we to plant some at The Colony, because it would delay any planned development work we all know how much they hate a City Lady garden Anyone got a trowel?

As you rightly say ska this one is way to close to call maybe they are on a par with norwich thou accorrding to icegas ?? personally i think if they are looking for comparisions then maybe they should try Bitton fc or Mangotsfield fc even these two have facilites that look far more like real stadiums iam really struggling to think who they are comparable with ????

  27. Agreed, Great North still not making a decision yet but cant see it happening. Hoping my ultra might as it will a lot lower key Completed the IronmanVC 70.3 challenge again last weekend, had forgotten how hard that run is after the bike. Felt so much better on the bike but 6 miles into the run and I was at my limit. Managed to run/walk the rest and get it finished Out on the bike this week to save my feet/ankles a little, 20 miles on Wednesday and had to run down to the in-laws in the evening which is just over a mile so tested my mile time. Managed 6:32 which isnt a PB but was quite happy for an impromptu run. 15 miles each way to work and back on the bike yesterday and out for a 15 mile run tomorrow. Mrs got me a Naked belt so going to test that but think it might be a bit small, also been given a camelbak which is really useful on the bike but not sure if I want to run with it

  29. The British legal system comprises the law - established over centuries and through Parliament - that provides a set of rules by which we should all conduct our lives. We all know that breaking those rules will result in prosecution through the legal system and a decision by a jury and , if then found guilty, punishment handed down by a judge, again determined by the law. However, running alongside the law is equity, which is all about fairness, so that something that for example might break the law, might be judged to be unfair in equity and visa versa. I think I'm right in saying that while a criminal act, i'e. breaking the law, is decided by a judge and jury, a case in equity is decided by a judge only. It seems to me that the situation with stadium sales and ffp is a question of law and equity. We all know ( and are told relentlessly by fans of those clubs) that selling a stadium to a related third party company did not break the ffp rules ( thanks only to the EFL cock up). However, while the majority of clubs accepted the new ffp rules and organised their affairs in order to comply with them, other clubs did not do so, or failed to do so diligently enough, thereby gaining an advantage over compliant clubs. In equity I'm pretty sure this would be judged as unfair - in bad faith towards the EFL and other clubs - and if within the British legal system a judge could then award a penalty accordingly. If so, then why can't the EFL excercise similar thinking and judgement?

  31. Ref the football shirts, its not a trick question, in the film they played in dark and white chequred shirts They could have been red and white, black and white or the other lots colours. It was filmed in black and white,so way of knowing what colour they actually were. The film up in the world football match was filmed at Woburn Abbey

  32. Planning Permission was granted in December 2016. However as planning permission normally lapses after three years if it isnt implemented, it is possible that there is no planning permission currently in place. If they are only proposing to clear up the site and improve the existing pitches then they may not need planning permission for Phase 1 but they wont be able to change the buildings without it. Interestingly the planning proposal refers to non-professional use so it must be NLBR.

  33. As the saying goes - the proof is in the pudding. City and Bristol Bears, with the help of Steve Lansdown, are constructing multi million pound training facilities, which have taken years to plan and build. Rovers, on the other hand, are going to knock something up by the start of the next season - ie a few months time. Rovers fans are in raptures on their forum about this new development, but they should be careful. What will they get in a few months? Just something to provide more laughs on the OTIB forum. We currently have pictures comparing Ashton Gate with the tents at Filton, but soon we’ll have pictures comparing the Failand facilities with some grass and portacabins at Almondsbury

  38. UWE was a cert. The Fruit Market was a cert, now the training complex. They even promised the fans a stand and gave them a bus stop and then to make it worse, sold tickets for a non-existent Row M. Can you really take any notice of anything they say.

  39. You reckon ? Let's just remember, this is the 15ers we are talking about. With their track record, they are more likely to come up with something like this, including trees just outside of the penalty area.

  43. Until yesterday there was strict social distancing on the training ground, they’d had a couple / few tests each, and there is a pro-forma to complete each morning on arrival. They’d been training in groups of 5 too. I guess they (EFL and Govt) thought that this protocol was sufficient to stop the likelihood of spread in the early days of return to training. Contact training has now commenced. We will have to wait and see. Of course it has its risks. Early rounds of testing have shown small numbers of positive cases, and of course in some players cases have picked up covid where there have been no symptoms, e.g. Elliott Bennett.

  45. Cheer up everyone, the time is closer than You think when fans can go to a football game again. Our cup final starts in 10 mins with 10.000 (!) fans at Puskás Aréna. It will seem as a very few in this huge stadium but still its 10.000 on a sporting event.
