  2. Rovers won’t be paying for this . A few years later they will be another Coventry. Rovers have always relied on other people to helped them out . All of a sudden they got money for a new build. Me don’t think so . **** um

  5. I suppose if you meet planning law requirements, that will be the case. It's not all about planning applications though is it? There were so many things which slowed or changed things, leaks to the press, leaks to the BBC, leaks to the green party, leaks to the six opposition groups, because people behind the scenes were shall we say, not playing fair. Like I said about the planning committees being changed, about the village green application going in the same day as the AV planning application, about the appointment of the QC. I firmly believe forces within the council were working to thwart the AV development. Whether that be for political or personal reasons, or both, I doubt we'll ever know. Good luck with the fruit market.

  7. A rich man living in essex decided that he wanted to throw a party and invited all of his buddies and neighbours. He also invited Dai, the only welshman in the posh neighbourhood.. He held the party around the pool in the grounds of his mansion. Everyone was having a good time drinking, dancing, eating prawns, oysters, steaks from the BBQ and flirting. At the height of the party, the host said, 'I have a 15ft man-eating crocodile in my pool and I'll give a million quid to anyone who has the balls to jump in.' The words were barely out of his mouth when there was a loud splash and everyone turned around and saw Dai in the pool fighting the croc, jabbing the croc in the eyes with his thumbs, throwing punches, doing all kinds of stuff like head butts and chokeholds, biting the croc on the tail and flipping the croc through the air like some kind of Judo Instructor. The water was churning and splashing everywhere. Both Dai and the croc were screaming and raising hell. Finally Dai strangled the croc and let it float to the top like a dead goldfish then slowly climbed out of the pool. Everybody was just staring at him in disbelief. The host says, 'Well, Dai, I reckon I owe you a million pounds, 'Nah, you're all right butt, I don't want it,' says Dai The rich man said, 'Man, I have to give you something. You won the bet. How about half a million quid then?' 'No thanks... I don't want it,' answers Dai. The host said, 'Come on, I insist on giving you something. That was amazing. How about a new Porsche and a Rolex and some stock options?' Again, Dai said "No." Confused, the rich man asked, 'Well then what do you want? Dai said, 'I want the bastard who pushed me in!!.

  13. When a National newspaper ran a story asking if it was the ‘worst open top bus tour ever?’ they bitched and cried that the bus was on the way to the Parade. Strange really because City fans managed to show up at the Gate to cheer our players as soon as they left the ground. as well as lining the route... As always, we make the effort and turn up.....they don’t.

  14. That picture is quite eerie. There's no one around, not even a stray dog. There's a bus load of needy mental defectives roaming the streets looking for anyone to cheer them on.

  19. Yeah I genuinely think he'll fight anyone. At his age, making a retirement fund becomes top priority. If he can make a few million by fighting Wilder and Dubois, say, he might be angry about the lack of world title opportunities, but at least he'll be a very wealthy man. He'll probably then get his chance in the twilight of his career when he doesn't quite have the same potency.

  20. Very economical with your memory there. The area known as Ashton Vale, where the stadium was planned, was scheduled to be removed from the green belt and, agreed by the four unitary authorities prior to an application going in. It was also deemed to be a very important development for the region and as such, met the criteria allowing development within an existing Greenbelt area. Agreement for the allotments, was for the "sale" of the allotments to BCFC, as was also agreed for the East End car park, not a transfer. The QC appointed to hold the village green application review, was appointed by Bristol City Council. It just so happens that, she had "NEVER" found against an application for a village green. Makes one wonder why she was appointed and, who recommended her. We also had a scenario where the chair of planning was replaced on the morning of the meeting and replaced by a person on the committee actively opposing the development, Simon Rayner. He spoke beautifully with his mates from the green party, whom he gave extra time to present their case against the development and managed to get a refusal, which went to an appeal. On the other side of the city, at a very important planning meeting to determine whether there could be a redevelopment of the rugby ground. Six members of the committee were removed on the morning of the meeting and, replaced with six councillors who actively supported the scheme. The application was passed, I wonder who made that decision to change the committee members.

  21. Depends how skint you are ?? Personally I'd let it run. They are in freefall. No win in 11, losing 9 and drawing 2. Lost several of their best players in last window as well. Take £80 if you desperately need the money. If not £300 is very nice. Great bet though!!

  22. High risks for Whyte. If he lost that fight he may never get a title shot. Thing with Whyte though, he has proven he is willing to take the big fights with high risk attached.

  23. I’m assuming you never attended the meeting at City Hall when the move to Ashton Vale was being proposed then? It couldn’t have been more obvious that everything possible was being done to stop it. As for the other lot, probably not in my best interests to say too much, but if you look hard enough it is pretty easy to find evidence of how they have been helped recently & are likely to continue to be for at least the next year.,

  24. Being a relative (cant really call myself a young un any more) young un, until now my only exposure to Felicity Kendall was a line in Red Dwarf about them passing a moon that looked like her bottom that they flew around a few times. One of the few references I didn't get, though I could fill in the blanks as it were.

  25. Still think Whyte should get a title shot before Fury/AJ meet. Whyte continues to get constantly screwed over. It’s an embarrassment he’s never had his moment.

  26. I searched and looks like it was reported in The Scum newspaper, but they may have got it from somewhere reliable. My guess was only 5% off, if that's true! As you say, tough on Whyte, but also all of those sub elite heavyweights that are trying to stay patient. Fury and Joshua have to win their next fights, which isn't guaranteed, but if they do, they'll have tied up all the belts for the whole of 2021. Whyte could be approaching 34 years old before he gets a chance. Daniel Dubois, however, would be 24 and much more qualified to compete for the crown.
