  1. I thought it was a good read, an interesting interview with a decent bloke who did his best for a club he clearly loves, and I didn’t see much BS at all.

  4. Dean, You are clearly a top bloke and care about Bristol City but we would politely request that you do not accept the offer of Head Coach. Many of us feel that you are really developing as a coach and will eventually be very successful. However, the majority of fans feel you are not quite ready to push us in further in the Championship and we really need a more experienced head coach who has experience of promoting teams at all levels. You may have seen the reaction of many fans which shouldn't be taken personally but just show the love they have for the club and the de

EMOTIONS ARE CURRENTLY RUNNING HIGH AND THERE ARE VARIOUS OPINIONS ON WHO SHOULD AND SHOULDN'T BE APPOINTED BUT WE ARE RECEIVING MORE AND MORE REPORTS ON HERE IN RELATION TO REPLIES BECOMING MORE AND MORE PERSONAL TOWARDS THE POSTER PLEASE CAN EVERYONE REMEMBER THAT WE ARE ALL BRISTOL CITY FANS AND TO NOT GET PERSONAL IN REPLIES

  7. What’s happening then, if Holden does take the job? Got to be some sort of action taken next Friday or Saturday, I’m sick to the back teeth of this shit. For those who don’t want want to voice their discontent and are happy sat in their little bubble lapping up whatever shite the club feed them, don’t bother rolling in on your moral high horse and offering your two pennies worth as I can assure you nobody asked for it.

  11. Johnson deserved to be sacked If lansdown and ashton had kept their ******* mouths shut and not gone on about the caliber of managers applying and needing a fresh start to take us to the next level, then the anger wouldn't even be half of what it is now, The resentment and anger is of the clubs own making and they deserve everything they get

  15. Not getting the problem with Williams. He has played most of his career in the Premier and being a coach is the first step towards management. Dont even have a massive problem with Holden and hope he surprises us. My problem is we were sold down the river with the brief laid out by Lansdown and Ashton and were expecting a manager with pedigree to help us get up.

  17. Bristol City FC A complete small minded tinpot club going nowhere fast. Premiership football, you’re having a laugh. I was gutted with the appointment of Johnson, that disappointment has now been magnified ten times. I’ve supported my local club for 46 years now, watched away games at Maine Rd Manchester City to Somerton Park Newport County. Watched City mid table of the First Div or premiership as its now known to bottom of Div 4. In all that time I’ve never been so gutted at a managerial appointment as i have of todays. First time in 46 years i have to say I’ve finally lost int

  20. And you thought you mattered More seriously, and as a loyal fan of 30 years, most of which five of us have been ST holders, I just hate being lied to - progress, ambition, let's be honest, actions speak louder than words! As a final thought, what is the point of having a Billionaire owner who doesn't any longer want to invest in the club?

  21. Season ticket holder for over 20 years - I’m done with this club. There are more important things in life than following a tin pot club run by control freaks. Forget the Prem - start looking downwards. I actually feel sick at this news - our worst appointment ever & we have made some bad ones in the past. Oh & why is this news coming from the local rag & not the club itself? Suggests a boardroom split of some kind.

  24. Lee Johnson is looking for the words to describe his departure from Bristol City after 4½ years as manager. He loves the people and the place, having also enjoyed some of his best playing days there. Now it’s over. “It feels like a break-up,” Johnson says. “Your missus has left you, gone off with someone else, everyone else is having great fun, and it’s, ‘Someone love me’. There’s that desire to bounce back.” And he will. Johnson is naturally ebullient, full of self-belief as well as a desire to learn, and knows he will be in demand. He’s already been approached, but his emotional engagem

  25. That’s fine. But why go window shopping for 5 weeks knowing you can’t afford it? Makes SL appear a bit stupid. As if he only figured out last Monday that there were serious financial consequences to covid.

  28. LANSDOWN'S JOBS FOR THE BOYS. NUMBER 1. BRIAN TINNION. Danny Wilson had lost us the play off final and had failed to get us promoted in four full seasons. Lansdown wanted to cut costs, so they parted company, and then, suddenly, without advertising the job or running interviews (unprofessional), he appointed Tinnion as player-manager. From nowhere. He had no experience. This would cost us one of our very best players. The fans were bemused. The dressing room was bemused. Tinnion always implied he did not have the support of the dressing room, and that there were bad eggs in there not play

  29. I genuinely don’t know how Ashton can spin this appointment to be anything other than the pathetic shambles that it is. What on earth can he say? How the hell can he claim he is the right man for the job? What credentials can he point to? What experience or achievements? How can he say he was the “standout candidate” with so many good prospective candidates readily available? How does he explain a 5 week recruitment process that ends up with the bloke that puts out the cones? How can he talk about “ambition” ever again? I’m asking genuinely here - I really can’t see a

  33. I actually fear we might sleepwalk into a relegation battle if we appoint Holden- I'm quite cautious often but not usually negative but I just have a bad feeling. I hope this isn't history repeating, or at least replicating in some respects- 10 years on. GJ leaves, us in and around midtable but on the slide- suddenly after a relative local derby, late goal loss 3-2- Plymouth. LJ leaves us, in and around midtable but on the slide- sudenly after a relative local derby, late goal loss 1-0- Cardiff. Millen comes in and does quite nicely as caretaker. Holden comes in and do

  34. Are so many posters assuming that Deano will become the new Head Coach? All I’ve seen is social media stating that he’s going to be appointed and yet there is absolutely no mention on the OS of either Macca’s sacking or Holden getting the job. It seems to me that it’s a lot of wild speculation based on pretty much no evidence unless you consider GMG a reliable source.

  35. This is the sort of appointment i was hoping we’d avoid. I didn’t want a massive gamble. I wanted someone with at least SOME credentials and shown promise in a previous job. At the same time, if SL and co feels like Holden has what it takes, then fair enough. I don’t like it, but i can get behind it. But what pisses me off is the big talk at the beginning, which raises expectations and now leaves us, with total negativity. A new manager should bring positivity around the club and now we won’t have that. I’ll support Deano. None of us have a clue if he’ll be good at the jo

  41. Well, actually all we know is that the club have been seeking to appoint a manager since Lee Johnson was relieved of his duties, and they have remained completely silent while that process is going on. That situation may seem unusual to football fans, but it is normal practice in business. The only thing that has turned this into a shambles, if it is one, is the constant speculation by press and fans. What does the last four weeks of postings count for? Absolutely nothing. No one knows who the club is trying to appoint, and everything is presently guesswork. Local press are too embar

  44. Camera pans it’s way up a male figure, when it reaches the top its a smiling Chris Hughton, whose smile quickly disappears and turns into a frown as he gets into a taxi in somber fashion heading away from Ashton Gate. Camera pans left to Holden shaking hands with JL and MA as they wave the taxi off.

  45. What would be the way City could announce Holden that would cause the biggest meltdown? I think a ridiculous OTT rooftop shot that pans to JL and MA holding a sheet that says ‘Announce Holden’ before the camera turns to Holden grinning in full City kit (rrp £84.99)

  46. I'm really hoping this is the biggest cock tease of all time & that the roof video starts with a drone flying down to reveal Holden clearly waiting for someone, checking his watch, before it cuts to Hughton climbing out the roof hatch to the Avengers soundtrack. Big Chris (wearing the new City home shirt) then walks over to Holden with a huge grin on his face before they both then do a socially distanced elbow bump to camera whilst shouting COYR.

  48. I can’t speak for everyone but of course I would withhold judgement. I thought he did ok in his 5 games. My anger is simply how the head coach search has played out. We get SL saying we want to take the next step. We get Hughton saying he is interested. Then we get bits saying that interest is mutual. Then the Gerrard thing for a week. Then slowly for 2 weeks we get little bits about DH. Now we are here with his appointment basically imminent and seemingly the board using Gregor McGregor to release a couple tweets a day about all the positives of DH. To go from take the

  49. Can someone explain to me when it became such a heinous act for a fan of the club to express their opinion? No doubt whoever did this pays towards the running of this football club, and therefore has a right to express their sentiment? From what I can see here no one was hurt, and there isn’t any offensive language used. Why is this therefore a basis for scorn? If anything, whether I agree with the message or not, the passion and expression should be respected no? Why do we accept statements like this from “big” clubs who excerpt their will or view but don’t like it here?
