  1. We’ve just had restrictions imposed and we’re thinking of letting crowds watch football again - it seems crazy imo. As for the idea of prioritising the elderly and those shielding, it doesn’t seem sensible given their vulnerability!

  2. As much as I want to get back to watching football, it's pure madness IMO that this is announced the same week as we're told too many people are socialising and strict rules about meeting families are brought in.

  3. No thank you. I would love to watch live football again soon, I really would, however now is not the time, in my opinion. Covid cases in the UK are on the rise. France started to let fans in to watch games since July 11th, and look how that situation has unfolded. (Not saying the increase in cases there is purely down to allowing fans in to sporting events though) We are basically allowing fans to attend games at the same time France did in terms of the number of active Covid cases, and this could well result in a sudden surge in cases and a compete backfire. Just my own opinion though, of course.

  4. Perhaps if there are Key Workers among our ST base they should get first dibs on the initial return

  6. It’s ok Just seems wrong that when cases are rising and highest since May it’s decided it’s ok to admit fans. If it was safe why not 2500 not just 1000. I know clubs have to start somewhere just seems pressure is mounting to get fans in from clubs for there own survival and to save a bit of money. I volunteer at a non league club in Manchester so know how much work is involved to get games on. We are limited to 300 and have to temp check each person, contract details and make sure each person or group is distanced even though they are outside. Cannot open indoor bar for enclosed space so outside cabin only available for food and drink. I also believe it’s FA Vase this weekend and as it’s grassroots football i have been told everyone on the bench now has to wear a mask. Seems the rules are getting stricter.

  10. Though they haven't yet had a game they could attend, there were thousands of them lined up in their cars in Redcliffe and Victoria Streets wondering how they'll get to the hallowed ground. I suppose they could always get out of their cars and watch from the pavements.

  11. The worst thing is, thousands of fans from South Bristol are unable to get to the ground, because Bristol Bridge is closed to traffic.

  15. Quite easily with only 1000 in the ground, spread out. These matches will be used to assess where potential pinch points are when increasing the numbers and formulating plans to deal with this. How many times as away fans have we been kept back after the final whistle. It'll be a similar process but on a block by block basis I expect.

  16. It doesn't make sense to me to allow fans back in. Cases are going up all over the country. Fans have to wear a mask all game, are encouraged not to clap or sing either so it doesn't create much of an atmosphere. Also at half time and the end of the game fans will want to go to the toilet/leave how do they do that safely?

  17. Funnily enough when they met up at the Yate Town match my brother (been to watch us a few times) said "That's the Keeper, isn't it? The psycho!" ? Could you imagine the meltdown if only 1000 fans are allowed in and away fans form part of figure? Definitely home fans only.

  22. Why if you are a key worker who had to go work every day as normal all over the covid time it shouldn't matter what that job was you where still risking your life, I work in a supermarket distribution center that makes me a key worker, where I work covid killed one and hospitalised many some who are still not well enough to work, no one clapping us for keeping everyone from going hungry, If city did key worker then all key worker should be treated the same

  23. This is true. The company I work for are NHS suppliers and support and we are classed as key workers, we even have paper work and passes stating this. I would prefer if anyone in the NHS rather than their enormous external supply chain had first refusal.

  24. Most of the country could be classed as key workers according to the government documentation on it.

  25. No interest in going back until it’s proper again (ie away fans, atmosphere, no sign of masks or SD etc). Non league until it is for me.

  26. The gift is almost daily! 40,000 is their magic number. It's the amount they take to Wembley (plus Teds) Mutal back patting session for the closely linked clubs in terms of size and fan base They couldn't cancel their EasyJet flights so they were probably wandering aimlessly around South Shields. Hence the lyric "Sometimes I have a great notion to jump in the river and drown"
