  1. They're still coming for us. They're just taking the scenic route.

  2. The vindictive sod kept pointing to the Centre circle every time the ball nestled in their net and made them start again...

  4. Personally, I sometimes read their forum whilst enjoying an intimate 10 minutes with Kylie.

  5. On what planet would any gashed be in a position to take the piss out of someone signing the likes of Brett Pitman..?!

  6. Didn't realise Pitman had gone to Swindon. Big fan of Brett when he was at AG, really classy finisher.

  7. Every day of the week. The bloke in charge of them now is an absolute fraud, never done anything in football. Love or hate Cotts, his track record is decent & he is still based here. Like to see him back in work but not for those ******* jokers.

  9. ... and the prolific Tom Nicholls scores again for Crawley ?

  10. This. Even if can`t go the full 90 he`s great to bring on for the last twenty to bang a couple in. He`s a natural finisher and hits the ball harder than practically anyone I`ve seen at City since Alan Walsh. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, it was criminal the way he was treated at City.

  11. They still think Pochettino could be interested. I think Pinocchio is probably more likely.

  12. How mint would that be if they beat them . It’s getting to them. I was ripping the piss out of one of my best mates this afternoon who’s gas. He actually said he’ll hurt me next time we’re out ????

  13. This guy gets it . ’ But we are a laughing stock. As a gas head it would hurt me bitterly to own this club and keep a man in charge with 2 wins in a calendar year to the point that even national media have picked up on it because it’s so unusual. Wael has paid off the debt and fair play, but these are unusual circumstances and I feel he needs to be grilled by Geoff so he can explain to supporters exactly what justification there is for continuing to employ a man who not only cannot win a game as long as he has got a hole in his arse but who insults the fan’s intelligence along with it. We are a joke of a club, no other club in the league would tolerate a win ratio of less than 10% over half a seasons worth of games‘

  14. Just need a good result against Wednesday on Sunday and City would sit at the top of the Championship, whilst the Gas would be rock bottom of the 3rd division. What a celebration could be coming on tomorrow.

  15. They are suggesting LJ as their next manager on ass-shat ?

  17. Bret never had any pace when he was with us so he’s got none to lose with age. Natural goal scorers are the same no Matter what age though and he’s definitely that.

  21. I can't. I would be amazed if he decided to get involved with that shower of shite..! What manager in the entire football league would be tempted to go there...?! I expect Bury's manager would tlrather take his chances with a phoenix club, over going there..!

  24. Gasheads slagging off Ben Garner and calling for his head on Slagchat. I 4-1 thought the hypocritical bastards never did that sort of thing? Thought they said that was just us?

  25. Rovers look like they’ve won a raffle to be in league 1. Massively out of their depth

  26. For a very brief time I myself watched City and Rovers alternately. When I was a young lad in the mid-70s my mate's old man, who just liked to watch football and was not at all partisan, started taking us to whichever Bristol side was at home each Saturday. For me at the time this was quite an eye-opener. Even then The Gap was huge and obvious. Everything about City was far superior, the quality of the football, the stadium, the size of the crowds, the atmosphere. Fair to say my colours were nailed to the mast almost immediately, and within a few weeks I started becoming strangely 'unavailable' when Rovers were at home. Correct decision made; a life of derision and inferiority averted

  28. Charles Dickens - "A tale of two cities" could sum this up. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair,

  29. I think you should check with @Rudolf Hucker as to which is the best option. I hope not. Even with their limited resources he would keep them in League 1

  30. Pinocchio would fit in well with all their other liars ?

  31. Totally agree there BS3. Hell would have to freeze over first. Cott's gave us one of the best season's we ever had, so there is zero chance he'd ever want to tarnish that feat by going anyway near that cesspit of a club. He's financially secure so doesn't really need to work again, and I'm sure he's turned down many a job since. I think he will get back into a job again, but he has the luxury of being as picky as he wants. Rovers is not on his list, and will never be on his list, believe me.

  32. I wouldn't see it as a celebration. After 3 games..! We aren't Swindon..! But makes a funny screenshot..! Their period of unparalled success seems to have slowed up a little..!

  33. Steve Cotterill taking them down to the basement (again) would cement his place as a City legend. If that ever needed any re-enforcement.

  34. I watched it, the ref wasn't good but they were dreadful, 4-1 flattered them, it could and probably should have been 6 IMHO. The gas keeper made one save towards the end iirc. I was too busy laughing to remember any more. They were totally outplayed!

  43. My first City game was at Eastville when our Cubs leader (a gashead, though the term hadn't been invented then, let alone adopted by the masochistic oddbods) took us along to a Glos. Cup Final. Looking back undoubtedly with the sinister aim of indoctrinating us all to become Rovers' supporters. Fortunately I took an immediate dislike to the look of Rovers' vile shirts and their even more putrid club song, City won handsomely, and I departed Eastville that night as a new City supporter - much to the chagrin of the failed gas brainwasher. Went to Eastville a few times to watch games in the early 70's - Man.Utd, Watney Cup Final, Southampton and Ipswich in the Cup - but certainly not to support Rovers! Also v. West Ham when a City away game was called off last minute and we were already assembled to go. Never wished them anything but a crushing defeat, then and since. Have to say I wouldn't dream of going anywhere near their current pit now unless City were about to give them a well deserved thrashing.

  44. Yes it is. Even despite the lack of attendance, I'm sure they've produced a lovely crystal vase to present to the match sponsors. "Doncaster Rovers Vs Bristol Albion" It's such a nice touch...!

  45. The thing is in the 70’s there were no games on Tv in the pub to watch or anything like that, so if you wanted to watch football and your team was not playing then it was the logical thing to do, from speaking to my Dad about it He was always a City fan but also a fan of football

  46. The shared experience of the war years produced a lot of social cohesion that persisted probably into the sixties. The pathe news footage of Rovers v City games in the fifties doesn’t seem to show any fan segregation and games passed without trouble. I remember speaking to some people at Eastville who watched Rovers one week and City the next, something I can’t imagine doing. While rivalry/banter between teams is part of being a football fan, the illogical vitriol that can be found on any of the football forums, towards people who enjoy the same sport and come from the same city, I have to say I find rather saddening.
