  1. Great news . Don’t have to look or listen to the dreary Pratt on Soccer Saturday

  2. Than finding out that Tony Pulis will be your next manager. Poor sheffield Wednesday fans. If you are feeling slightly down or struggling at the moment please dont go on their forum.....its some like a self help group that's falling apart.... Makes me feel slightly sorry for them.

  3. Agree completely. Other people seem to dislike SO'D, but Pulis wins hands down for me. Hated us, profited from sales of our best players, bought crocked journeymen and refused to play youth. Dismal, dismal, joyless football.

  4. Alas, it is Scotland. Will likely be followed up with... "a dinnae think we deserved te lose three nil. Och, but naver mind eh!"

  5. Yes indeed, bring back Roy Hodgson. Because, let's face it, we're falling over ourselves with managers to have taken England to a World Cup semi final. By any sensible matrix, Southgate is making a decent fist of an extremely difficult job.

  7. The one manager whose reign genuinely made me consider packing in going to watch. Statistically we've had worse than him, but the utter joylessness of it coupled with the fact that he clearly hated us puts him top of the list. The carnival atmosphere at the first game after he ****** off to Portsmouth will live long in the memory.

  8. I think it’s tired now. Been done way too much by us. Time for a change I reckon. Bring back Adam Baker.

  10. I don’t really care tbh. All that matters is that the player has signed and you’ll find that info on the OS.

  11. Well that’s not actually true is it..... Having looked at Owlstalk and searched Ashley / Williams / thug I can’t find a single reference to him being a thug or similar Maybe you can provide a link And back to your ‘thug’ accusation 5 sending offs in 578 games Doesn't really stack up does it His sending offs for us came from (IMHO) Watkins needling him , possibly verbally and Our general lacklustre play at Forest as was our way at the time - frustration Surprised at him , but the two sending offs don’t spoil a very decent spell helping us

  13. It's "edgy" and goes along with the whole "on the roof" announcements. Its unique, I quite like it but they do need to clean up there, get the jet washer out Mark Ashton!

  14. I must say I’m not a huge fan of the new setup. Appreciate some would call it an “old boys club” but I enjoyed the chemistry between the presenters. Back on subject - poor Wednesday fans.

  15. I’ve just finished a zoom call with Bristol City Psychologist Damian Hodge about resilience in sport. Ironically Zac Vyner was talking about proving people wrong and how he was never the top player in his age groups growing up but look at him now compared to everyone else. You say he isn’t good enough for top six yet he’s played every minute for a top six side this season. And even if you don’t think he is good enough that only means you don’t think he is good enough today. He will continue to improve the same way he was improved continually up until now. I’ve learned tonight that he do

  16. Does anybody else think that taking photographs of new signings on the roof is slightly amateurish?? Seeing a new player sat on an air conditioning unit or in front of an electric control panel is ridiculous. Take them up to the Suspension Bridge or training ground. Every time I see it I just can’t understand the reasoning behind it

  18. Obviously in the minority here. Want Ireland, Scotland and Wales to all do shit everytime they play. That's how they feel about us, why feel any different for them? Shame they've gone through.

  19. One thing I don't get though is the seeming love-in for Sheffield Wednesday on here. They cheated- CHEATED! They and a few others tried to get one over on us and the rest of the compliant majority- and they as such are CHEATS- END OF! With respect to their good fans and notably those who appear on here, especially Owl Visiting they only got half a punishment- bigger losses than Birmingham, more slippery than Birmingham- hell Chansiri said last week he'd accept the 6 points but couldn't see what they had done wrong. None as blind as won't see, Chansiri. I don't think he's as disl

  20. This was AMAZING!!! A dull game, first half a nervous game from us in which Nagy was the best Hungarian player and a howler from Gulácsi. Second half maintaining this 0:1, change after the 80th for full attack and we won the game against the tired Iceland. Outstanding.

  21. Been chatting to Mapps’ cousin. As mentioned earlier on here, he was offered a contract at Watford. I therefore wondered quite how much we must be paying him, but it wasn’t all about the money up there. There were concerns over playing time too. So we’re probably still paying him pretty well, but he’s also got more chance of playing games here, at his age that what he wanted. I’m also told he’s a leader - which we know we lack. Was always skipper in the youth ranks etc. If extended past January, maybe he’ll take the armband?? As for fitness. Whilst not ‘match fit’, h

  22. I would suggest if you haven’t had a copy for a few years then it maybe worth getting the latest version (21) rather than 20 because you are likely to notice even more improvements.

  24. Easily the worst manager in my time watching City and the most toxic atmosphere at the ground. I actually feel sorry for Wednesday fans.

  27. Great thanks for that input You've been a city fan for years, well before the days of the 'OS'. What was your yardstick of legitimacy before the days of the internet and what did it take to convince you that the 'OS' is a reliable source?

  30. They are consistently the best fans to come to the gate (though quiet in 2020 admittedly). Disappointed they should have Pulis inflicted on them, while the likes of Cardiff, Preston and Millwall get let off.

  32. With the latest signing it looks likely we could return to a back three after the break just as we had settled in to a 433 and looked a decent team. We look a much better team with the extra man in midfield. It’s the area in the squad that should create the most competition. I would say at least 6 could compete for the 3 positions in midfield ( I have excluded Brunt and HNM as not as good as the other 6). Bakinson has been a revaluation but needs some one along side him to bring the best out of him. Also the extra cover allows Pato to get further forward and have more freedom to move into posi

  40. I totally disagree with your views on the CNN coverage of the election. The presenters were really good and John King on the Magic Wall is a thing of beauty. You call yourself a football podcast? You need to get your appraisal of American political broadcasting right. Honestly...

  41. If he was signed on a 2 year deal I’d be a little concerned by this but, as he has only signed until Jan, it’s as close to a free hit as you’re ever gonna find (especially for a player with his experience). If he plays well great, if he’s not up to it then we part ways with no long term damage. Excellent move by City to cover our most vulnerable part of the squad.

  42. Wells in form ? I must have missed that ( as he might say). He’s playing well but he’s left his shooting boots somewhere. He will come good though.

  43. It's an interesting one- I think when fully fit we can and should be capable of slotting between either. I'm a big 4-3-3 fan btw and think it is the perfect or alternative for the 3-5-2, or basis of 3 at the bac If we think about fully fit side then: Bentley Moore Kalas Mawson Hunt Nagy Williams Walsh DaSilva Martin Wells That looks pretty excellent and balanced to in a lot of respects though I would be worried about 2 v 1- Nagy or Bakinson, plus Walsh and Williams strikes me as an excellent midfield 3 and with carriers in Mo

  44. Not sure he’s ever had a thug reputation??? Good, solid, hard defender, who could play out from the back is how I’ve always seen him. Why thug reputation? From where? Two dreadful mistakes v Baggies? He left his header short for the 3rd goal which Robson-Kanu scored. Two Bentley fumbles for the first two??? One suspects you’ve carried this “thug reputation” into your view.

  45. Do people think 23 year old centre backs can't improve? I am still very optimistic about Moore and Vyner's future and what they can become. Vyner has surprised me so far this season. Very impressed

  46. I'm originally from Hitchin. I was there for that one! What a day. Topped off by seeing Desmond Dekker at the Hermitage that evening. Much the worse for wear by then I slipped over on the dancefloor and slashed my arm on a broken glass so I have a lovely scar as a memento!!

  47. Yeah. It’s worse than that. Steve Jones (and his tan) was signed for a ludicrous fee of £450K or thereabouts to lead the line for us for far too long after Ade left. On a side note. I have always held the crackpot opinion that Pulis thought he was signing Clive Mendonca rather than Jones but Curbishley swapped contracts and Tiny was too lazy to read it. Curbishley then gazumped the property Pulis had an offer in on in Clifton while he was at it. Which is where his Bristol property empire began!
