“Joseph Stanley Barton, you have pleaded guilty to the charges brought by this court and it is now my duty to pass sentence. You are a habitual criminal who accepts arrest as an occupational hazard and presumably accepts imprisonment in the same casual manner. We therefore feel constrained to commit you to the maximum sentence allowed for these offences. You will go to the Mem and manage some tinpot shit club for two years”19 points

This could end up being a re-make of "The Prisoner" from the 1960s. There is no escape. Barton is Number 6; If Wael is Number One, who is Number Two? Number Six: Where am I? Number Two: In the (Canvas) Village Number Six: What do you want? Number Two: Information. Number Six: Whose side are you on? Number Two: That would be telling. We want information… information… information. Number Six: You won't get it. Number Two: By hook or by crook, we will. Number Six: Who are you? Number Two: The new Number Two. Number Six: Who is Number One? Number Two: You are Number Six. Number Six: I am not a number ! I am a free man ! Number Two: Ha ha haha5 points

Dear Joey convict 6721098, about this... Bristol rovers fans like to lie about their attendances (especially away), getting a stadium built, their owner's financial worth, how many they took to Wembley, how many fans are locked out of matches, non-league being called division 5 and not sniffing their sister's undewear. Here's a handy graph to explain which club is really biggest in the West Country5 points

Sorry if it's already been mentioned but his assistant Andy Mangan was banned for 5 months for betting on a game he was involved in. Rovers do have form for that though they love a bung.2 points

Given his "colourful" history I understand he was once offered a Tag Heuer watch but turned it down because he thought you wore it on the ankle, bless2 points

Just imagine, should when under extreme pressure Thug Barton lamps an opponent or official, what punitive punishment The Gas might pick up? Better imagine were such punishment to see them relegated. Such stuff of which dreams are made....2 points

Standard for the “family club” Andy Spring, David Pipe. The bloke he has brought in today as a coach (Mangan) has also served a five month ban for betting on matches he played in, pretty sure no one has ever done that with the blue few before, eh? Barton still has his court case outstanding from the time he “pushed” (according to the BBC) the former Barnsley manager, Stendel. Must have been some “push”, seeing as Barton legged it from the ground immediately after the game & a Barnsley player said their manager was bleeding from a head wound..2 points

At his opening press conference Barton was asked his first impressions. "When you stare into the abyss the abyss stares back at you." "Still quoting Nietzsche then Joey, Beyond Good and Evil, I think," jested one scribe. "No. That was my first impression walking into The Memorial...."2 points

Oh, I didn't realise there were 2 clubs in Bristol. This one's a bit shit.....2 points

Forgot to introduce myself, I'm Shahan, and have been a Bristol City fan since 2007/08, and a regular City Women fan since 2018/19. This season I became the new co-host of Bristol City Vixencast, a podcast all about Bristol City Women, currently in its second season (formerly known as Oxtoby Revolution). Our latest episode (released a week ago) focuses on the Chelsea game, Loren Dykes' retirement and Ebony Salmon's call-up. I'd have posted a week ago but was waiting for my account to be authorised! I'll be using OTIB more to help promote the podcast (as well as contribute to all things City men & women). Please feel free to listen to the episode (as well as our non-canon interview specials we've done so far). Feedback & new listeners welcome!2 points

That’s incorrect on both counts ... many moons ago I spent a huge amount of time in Nottingham - the rivalry is very intense as it is in any two club city - that’s why I laugh at the ignorance of so many so-called football fans who say ‘Notts Forest’ - the reaction to that up there from Magpie fans is extraordinary but it re-affirms my faith in football rivalries! Fans of both Nottingham clubs are certainly not keen on each other and that’s putting it mildly. And as for the potteries, their rivalry also burns bright - to suggest otherwise is to patronise an area containing proper fans of traditional football clubs ...2 points

We can all agree 2020 has been a year like no other any of us have experienced before, and with that has brought many added pressures to people at a time of year where suicide rates increase. Please, if you feel alone or are struggling, try to talk to someone. Life might not always feel like living and you may feel like you are at rock bottom, but the world is a much better place with you in it. Personally this site really helps me, I have really low and negative days but keeping in touch with the Bristol City family is a massive thing. If anyone ever feels alone, please reach out. You can message me, or one of the many other supportive posters on here, or even talk to someone. I won't divulge personal information but I can't thank those people enough that have picked up when I've been struggling and taken the time to message me. We come from all backgrounds, beliefs, age groups and football teams etc, but I believe everyone on here would look out for a friend in need. A few of the Bristol City social media accounts shared the below today. Hopefully it'll also appear on the official website too.1 point

Dear Mr Barton I am very sorry to inform you that Bristol Rovers have not averaged gates of over 10000 for 40 years. If you have been misled, that is because they are liars. P.s if they tell you a number that they took to Wembley, it is good practice to knock 15000 off that number.1 point

There will definitely be crowds - annoyingly I think they are saying about 30% which I think is too low but something I guess. And no away fans so will make England v Scotland a bit sh*t.1 point
