  1. Step forward Agent Garner! The work he undertook on his assignment under the guise of ‘more attractive football’ was simply stunning. He took a squad that was in the mix for promotion into a rag bag assemblage of no- hopers in super quick time. Not only that he destroyed team spirit, brought in players that are flipping hopeless and created a squad bereft of strikers and any quality in key areas of the pitch, so laying the foundations of misery for many seasons to come. A worthy winner of the ‘Colin Daniel’ Lifetime Achievement Award.

  5. No question - Ben Garner! Apart from the stunning run of "form", by most accounts he rebuilt their squad with utter dross. Tisdale could not recover from it, and here's hoping that Jailbird Joey does not either.

  14. My local conference side's stadium as a reference. Injustice accepted.

  15. I'd argue that they're punching well above their weight/level. The facilities are conference standard at best, and even then that's doing some of the conference sides an injustice. The average attendance (we know despite them bleating on about how good it is) is shocking for a club that claims they are "so well supported", and is in fairness inline with a 4th division club (or league 2 in new money). They measure their success on how bad we are doing. Hop around from one ground to another, then moan when the council won't give them a new ground for free. Their biggest recent success is when Dean Windass scored in the playoff final to stop us getting to the Prem. I'm only in my mid 30's, but as I'm getting older the number of sags I know of and see around on social media are just getting needier and more pathetic. In comparison I do know a few that I can have a good laugh with, and are realistic (a rare commodity). They're punching well above their weight, and always have done. We've had relatively little success in comparison to some clubs of a similar size, but they've had even less.

  17. I much prefer running in the summer over the winter even if I do sweat a lot more! The cold/wind always makes my chest feel a bit tighter and my times are almost always a bit slower because of it.

  18. Oh I like the summer. Going out last year for long sunset runs for two hours at 7pm were delightful. But that was just bimbling around, largely exploring Gordano Valley and footpaths through fields. Having to do targeted runs at pace in the summer seems tiring already!

  20. I caught a bit of this. Something to do with different coating on the pink ball and the amount of time it stays quite shiny, making it skid on quite a lot when the shiny part rather than the seam hits the ground.

  21. To make the pink ball they have to apply extra lacquer to it, this means when the ball lands on one of its sides it skids more/quicker/longer than the red ball which has worn away, could explain some of the straight non turning LBW's if the batters are also being rushed into shots and the get made fools of the ones which grip and turn and are a bit slower.

  23. The pitch was undeniably way way below whats acceptable, but that was pathetic from England. Poor team selection - 3 seam bowlers + Stokes and only one recognised spinner, Archer batting at eight. How many England batsmen got out with straight on deliveries ? Bad batting and they capitulated. Bairstow should not be in at number 3, and i suspect he may not be playing Test Match cricket for too much longer - keep him for T20/One day. England should know now what pitches will be prepared for the rest of the series - the BCCI should be ashamed - "Anything to win India" - its not like they need any advantage really is it?

  24. Some of them (Bairstow) do. But if Joe Root is getting 5 wickets on the second morning of a Test, the pitch isn't good enough.

  33. I have enjoyed watching England take wickets this morning, but it is a farce really. Is this even a game of skill on this pitch? There needs to be a minimum standard when preparing pitches. I get the fact all home teams produce pitches to suit themselves - thats fine - but bowling on a beach handball pitch just makes Test cricket look stupid

  38. While they will inevitably eat themselves with jealousy while trying to compare themselves to us, we just don't bother anymore and just take the mick. I genuinely think, the comparison has held us back a bit and while we all enjoy them losing, it doesn't really matter to us as we know we are eons ahead in every way.
