  4. He replaced almost all of those players and still lost the team he put together.

  5. To be honest I think the playoffs are a load of BS.If Bristol are top at the end of the regular season, for me they are champions regardless of the playoffs.

  6. to be honest its a nail biting end to the season for our girls and I am getting into it, far better to watch at the moment then our mens team and every match has something riding on it. I think they will stay up just, but its not going to be easy.

  8. What is it they say about being careful what you post online, Andy? I am sure there are algorithms out there that could have a field day with your name, interest in Course Dawn Motorcycle shoes, Mevaagissey harbour and all things Bristol Football.

  9. The stakes have now got even higher to stay in the WSL

  10. Big move for the game! Sky Sports will replace BT as the main broadcaster, and there will be games on BBC One/Two as opposed to the red button/iPlayer. Hopefully City will be able to take advantage of this from next season ?

  11. I think it's disgracefully embarassing that the 998th richest man on the Planet accepts a £100,000 handout from the Govt, when people are using foodbanks. If SL want's a Womens Team, then pay for it, not get Govt handouts. SL earns more than that in interest a day. Pretty sure that money could have been used in a better way, than propping up a Football club owned by a multi-billionaire

  12. When it’s tight a point ain’t bad. Especially when form has picked up and still have to play a few around us to play...

  13. Great to see Salmon & Evans back after missing the Man City game. What a header from Evans! At least we're off the bottom of the table now. Next game is away to Birmingham next Sunday. But before then, I'm about to record the next episode of Vixencast...

  14. Set pieces do work. The skipper pops up for a corner and heads one in! Game on. 1-1 Salmon then smashes a 20-yard volley onto the post. Fraction away.

  15. There was another thread that suggested being competitive in League 2 would see gates on 10k.

  16. I met him a few times years ago in a business context, nothing to do with football. You couldn't meet a nicer person, he came across as warm, friendly and genuinely engaging. Lovely fella. I think the answer to that one is that he's the only one who earned the right to those resources by taking the team from the brink of the relegation zone to the fringes of the play off places. And Cotts, who will always remain a City legend for me, was afforded comparatively rich resources to build the side comprising the best players in league 1. So fair enough I think.

  17. I hated that fight and couldn't understand why Hearns fought what turned out to be, in such a reckless way. It wasn't until the dust settled that it emerged that they had been involved in a whistle-stop 50+ tour of cities in the USA to sell the fight in cinemas, they ended up absolutely despising the sight of each other, hence the pub carpark feel about the fight. A great fantasy fight would have been Hagler v Monzon. Despite this fight Marvin was the best Middleweight of my generation.

  18. A real test of the girls' mettle, and back to Twerton. It will show Beard who has the appetite for the fight for the rest of the season. Elsewhere, West Ham take on Birmingham and Villa are home to Brighton - both could be key games. COYR! COYV!

  19. Yep, Pernille Harder for Chelsea broke the transfer record when she joined from Wolfsburg last year. Personally, I'd love to see Beard stay, as well as the team stay in the WSL. I'd be worried if Tanya Oxtoby returned and took the team to yet another relegation battle for a third successive season. I can see now why she wasn't sacked at the time (it would look bad for any organisation if they sacked someone while they were pregnant)
