  2. They are right though, the atmosphere is in tents.

  3. I like the guy in that thread that effectively says 'this season is a write-off due to no fans so if we are relegated it shouldn't count'

  4. 'Compact and intimidating' stadium apparently.....'ramshackle and embarrassing' would be a more apt description. Absolute bunch of delusion belters.

  5. The team have defenitly miss our away support as we always travel in numbers and are very vocal at away games Of course you do. Don’t worry you will be able to sing your shitty song at Harrogate Town in huge numbers next season.

  6. Have you ever seen it live? It’s not my thing either, but I did go to watch it at Eastville a couple of times, and must admit it was quite exciting. Noise, smell speed etc. Feel the same about powerboat racing: not something I’d ever watch on TV, or go out of my way to, but in Bristol Docks it was something else.

  8. I must admit that "Santa's Grotto" looks an intimidating experience on top of the painful dihorrea enduced stomach cramps endured from the fake fanta and stale crisps and then fondled and fisted by their best Jimmy Saville impersonator. Yes; a very daunting place to visit.

  9. Intimidating in that you have a genuine chance of injury, after the stairs collapse or the roof caves in on your head

  11. This isn't the Bears' day but between the ref and the tmo this match is a ****up! They can identify which blade of grass for a kick but miss out on forward passes and knock ons!

  14. I remember reading that an American champion (Seebold?) came to see the track for the first time and thought it was just where they practiced, asked where the real track was. My dad was in the RNR at the time and we used to get on to the HMS Venturer and watch from the deck, it was pretty hair raising seeing the Formula one boats going past so close to the hull!

  15. Even more exciting at the Knowle track. Shorter straights and tighter corners. Oh, and we made a relative fortune returning discarded lemonade bottles to the kiosk and pocketing the deposits. Profitable Friday nights.

  16. wasnt it deemed too dangerous to continue?

  17. Really? A loud, noisy spectacle with risk and close racing. I'd sooner understand your view if you were talking about horse racing. Spend all day at a track and see horses run past maybe a dozen times, while stood next to idiots on the pi**. Of course, all IMHO.

  18. Pat Lam clearly frustrated, multiple angles made available by French TV to aid the TMO for the disallowed Purdy try but for the pivotal deliberate knock on decision only 2 angles given to TMO despite multiple cameras at the game. Lan, all the coaches, and all the players unanimous it was the wrong call.

  20. An usual situation for the Bears actually losing a game. Bit of a bummer getting beat by by a decent team but with help of the officials...........

  23. Yeah, course they do ? They usually average around 600 on the road compared to our 1100. For a club like them who rarely sell out an away allocation taking 2-300 to places on a regular basis, only Sagheads could be so deluded to claim that they “always travel in numbers” ? Look at this peanut below, not “reasonably large” enough to ever fill your tiny ground... As for “passionate”, we’ve all seen what you’re passionate about...non stop songs about City ? I very much doubt the players have missed them. steve192 Club Legend 2 hours ago Quote I almost look on it as a blessing in disguise for us fans not having to put up with travelling miles to watch the rubbish that has been dished up but yes I think it has cost a club like ours pointsin that the crowds are generally of a reasonably large size and passionate. Even watching the game on TV is so different without a crowd - its false and has totally proved that Football is a crowd sport and without it I think it is very questionable how long you would keep watching it.

  25. 2. Shit. It means 'shit'. We're 'fickle' and average more than 3 times what they get? Righto.

  26. I knew there was a problem with my reply. IT WAS BASED ON CLEAR AND OBVIOUS NUMBERS. Consider me reprimanded and ashamed.

  27. Ah, but you just don't get it. Well over 75% of the population of Bristol are true blue & prowed to be a gashead. Problem less than 5% of them ever go to home games & when they do some of them pay the man on the disabled gate a tenner, so they don't count. And when they go to away games they find themselves locked out. Would you believe it ?

  29. Is that our ‘fickle fans’ who bought over 8000 STs the last time we were relegated to L1 after one of our worst seasons in the last 40 years? Thats nearly double the number of STs they sold after they were last PROMOTED to L1. The same ‘fickle City fans’ that were turning up in crowds of over 10,000 at AG to watch us drawing with Colchester and Shrewsbury at home whilst we were bottom of L1 under O’Driscoll? These Sagheads bang on about how their crowds are only shit because they aren’t in the top 6 and have a rubbish stadium...THATS fickle! Morons.

  30. However bad we are, we haven’t lost to a team wearing our away shirts which relegated us out of the football league altogether. Well done gift givers. ??

  32. Dustbin thread ?, we're known as 'binners' by Norwich fans, but enough about them. So we beat your rivals today, wasn't anything pretty in fact it were mostly dire and uninspiring but imagine you'd be pleased to see them beat. We're TRYING to get back to the Championship again but on today's evidence may have to wait a while longer. Sorry about your loss today serioiusly I'd want you to do well and see Bristol City back in the top flight (a vague recollection from early schooldays) Any consolation I'd expect Rovers to be a League Two club by the summer, they had to win today to have any real chance but gave us a goal through one of their own players before Judge made it two. Could have taken a point from it by the end, we were effectively poor once again but for now just 'enjoying' the moment and thankful for the three points. Sorry to intrude.
