  1. As soon as any breakaway is announced, the clubs concerned should be immediately banned from their domestic leagues and cup competitions. If they wish to come back, they start at level 10 in the pyramid of that country. **** 'em. Those clubs have lost all perspective and respect. Glad to see German and French clubs have refused to take part.

  2. There's talk the clubs who have signed up for this should have their records expunged for the last 3 years and the competition retrospectively awarded to the highest place legitimate club. That makes Bristol City 2018 League Cup winners. Admittedly I am the one that started the talk.

  4. The gold standard of comedy relegations is where your fanbase has already celebrated staying up and have hung up banners to that effect, then you play an opponent wearing your away kit on the last day and from a combination of results that your shit-for-brains fans haven't foreseen you suddenly aren't staying up any more. Cue horse punching, tears, incoherent ranting etc. It's almost worth giving them hope - only to see it smashed like that.

  6. For those that haven't seen Gary Neville's rant.. Go Gary, I never thought he would question Man U. FWIW, Roy Keane agreed with him.

  12. Fair play to Gary Neville, he's having a right go!

  13. Kick them out now. Expunge their records for this season. Get on with it Premier League. Don’t bother relegating anyone. 14 teams plus the 6 autos and playoff places....20 teams, make the other 3 x 22. 92 becomes 86. League Cup back to 2 legs for first two rounds. FA Cup Replays. The 20 PL teams can field proper sides because there’s no midweek European games. REAL football is back. **** the “greedy six”.

  14. Absolutely superb from Neville. Can’t see how anyone who genuinely loves the game can disagree with a word of what he says. He’d make a great FIFA or UEFA president.

  15. Those of us with memories that stretch back to the early 90s will find it a little ironic to read the FA getting so upset and self righteous about a planned breakaway league that will enable the top clubs to generate and keep more income for themselves.

  16. Have to disagree with you on Moore. Nowhere near the level we need imo. Hasn't come on a jot in the last two years. I would be looking to offload personally.

  18. I don`t think people always get this. For us to go down the all of the following would need to happen: We don`t get another point all season. Rotherham need to win four from seven Derby need to win three from four Birmingham need to win two from five Coventry need to win two from five Huddersfield need to win one and draw one from four Preston need to win one from four Forest need to win one from four Blackburn need to draw one from four If anyone seriously thinks that all this will happen then I suggest they get a massive acca on as if it comes in they`ll never have to work again.

  19. Sagchat at it`s finest: A comment appears from a poster on there says he`s signed up since they appointed Barton as he is interested in following his career and makes some points about hoping he can get them back up next season. The next post reads `**** off 100% ted ******* troll` The next post to that: `he`s an Everton fan mate` Second poster `he could still be a Ted troll` Their levels of paranoia (and stupidity) know no bounds.

  20. American is better, because whatever your personal political views at least there is a decent chance it was made fairly ethically. When the Glazers took over Man Utd I did have a bit of a laugh at the owners, but at least I know where Walmart make their money. Russian owners like Abramovich & Demin are all basically thieves, mates of Putin who stole hugely from their people before getting out, whilst Chinese owners are going to be dodgy as **** if they are approved by their disgusting Government. Anyone who thinks anything to do with Dubai is going to be remotely ethical (hello Man City) wants educating.

  21. This seems to have been a “possibility” for decades - but it never seems to come to fruition. It’s still laughable that the majority of clubs that compete in the “Champions” League aren’t champions ... the original European Cup was a perfect format ... the one best club in each country competing in a knockout competition - happy days!

  22. Greedy arrogant bastards. The elite clubs have abandoned any pretense of being anything other than global brands hell bent on making as much dough as possible and the other clubs are the equivalent of small businesses, competitors who must be ruthlessly crushed - off the pitch more than on it. The timing couldn’t be worse either considering clubs have had effectively no revenue for 14 months. Next time you see some berk strutting around your locale in a Liverpool, Man U, Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern, PSG shirt, etc., feel free to smack them across the chops with a wet fish.

  23. Let's just hope it's a double relegation for them and they're back to playing non league football again. The sooner Rovers disappear for good the better!

  24. At least we done the double over them!

  25. I gave that comment a like, but in retrospect it deserves flames. The last line nails it, doesn't it? You know how in seasons past you go into the summer thinking "I hope so-and-so doesn't leave and we hang on to such-and-such"? This year, with the possible exception of Bentley, I wouldn't be upset whoever left. In fact, I'd be more upset if certain wasters stay.

  26. How anyone can defend that transfer policy is beyond me. 61 signings in 5 years...!! That's basically a new team every season!!!.... ....and after all that, we still need a ******* new one...!!

  27. Kick them out of the league right now. why should the rest of us wait around for them to make up their mind? Let’s make it up for them. kick them out before they can claim any trophy or euro place. good fking riddance.

  28. Where 6 is decent game: Bentley - 7 - Made a couple of good saves, aside from the poorly hit pen. No fault for their goal I'd say. Hunt - 4 - Woefully poor distribution including 2 FKs from attacking wide positions hit straight to Weds players. Needs to go. Kallas - 5 - Partly at fault for their goal by mistiming jump, also allowed another ball to drop over his head from which Weds hit the post. Did get some decent blocks in and tried to drive forward a couple of time. Vyner - 6- Defensively solid. Rowe -5 - Defensively OK. Another who needs to go if we are to move forward. Lansbury - 3 - Whether it hit the bar or not, stupid to raise hand towards the ball. Had already hit a couple of cross field balls out of play too. Massengo - 8 - Another really hard working display, retained possession well and won it several times. Bakinson - 7 - Much better display by him, no sloppy passes in our own half, great through ball for Fammy who was so slow to react, and very well taken goal. Would like to see him work harder off the ball though. Semenyo - 5 - Poorest display from him for a long time, partly at fault for their goal. Mind on a move to Palace? Fammy - 3 - Another nothing performance, was hardly winning a ball before the sending off, just does not look interested. I wouldn't pick him in starting 11 for last matches. Pearson - 6 - Looked for openings, worked hard. A point gained.

  30. Well said Gary Neville on Sky sports - It’s a disgrace and the owners have no idea as to the history of the sport in this country The premier league & FA should penalise these clubs now and hit them hard

  31. Agree. I can't see it happening with the threatened repercussions. UEFA, the English Football Association and the Premier League, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and LaLiga, and the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) and Lega Serie A have learned that a few English, Spanish and Italian clubs may be planning to announce their creation of a closed, so-called Super League. If this were to happen, we wish to reiterate that we – UEFA, the English FA, RFEF, FIGC, the Premier League, LaLiga, Lega Serie A, but also FIFA and all our member associations - will remain united in our efforts to stop this cynical project, a project that is founded on the self-interest of a few clubs at a time when society needs solidarity more than ever. We will consider all measures available to us, at all levels, both judicial and sporting in order to prevent this happening. Football is based on open competitions and sporting merit; it cannot be any other way. As previously announced by FIFA and the six Federations, the clubs concerned will be banned from playing in any other competition at domestic, European or world level, and their players could be denied the opportunity to represent their national teams. We thank those clubs in other countries, especially the French and German clubs, who have refused to sign up to this. We call on all lovers of football, supporters and politicians, to join us in fighting against such a project if it were to be announced. This persistent self-interest of a few has been going on for too long. Enough is enough.

  32. Run around “more” should not be confused with run around with “greater intensity”. Pearson said the kid is learning his trade and part of that is to get yourself in the right positions which isn’t about running around like a headless chicken BUT he also needs to learn when to sniff danger and get on his bike QUICKLY to snuff it out. Two players can both do 11k in a game and one can have had twice the impact than the other. That’s what Pearson is getting at imo. Making a 40 yard run in 5 seconds rather than 6 could mean a scoring goal or saving a goal, that’s intensity not distance.

  35. They've been more like dead wasps for most of this year! TBH I agree with what you say about Tyreeq. It seems to me he's inconsistent at present because he can switch off during games and just not get into the fabric of the game so to speak. What I think people are referring to as "lazy". When he switches on and is concentrated and fully engaged, he can be a really useful player for us. And he's improving. I have to say, when I saw him in his first appearances for us I didn't think he'd make it. Now I think he's on the cusp of being a really decent midfielder.

  37. I'm not negative about Pearson, I'm skeptical about whether he can recreate what he did at Leicester because since he left he hasn't really shown signs of doing it and I think there's a general feeling with Leicester fans that he can't do it without Shakespeare. Derby was a disaster for him, at Leuven he had the biggest budget in the division and almost got them relegated, and at Watford he had an initial bounce and faded after (his sacking saved him from a relegation on his CV,but they were going down when he arrived so no shame). All I've said on here is that I'd have expected him to have more of an impact from the outset for and the three games that I've seen were all absolutely dire with few redeemable bits from them but I've also said that his record at Leicester does make him the ideal person to be given a chance to sort you guys out and I really would love him to do it again because we're all grateful to him for sorting us out (the League 1 season as much as the second spell tbh). I don't think that's overly negative. You also have to see that I come at it from a slightly different point of view, a)I'm not scarred by Lee Johnson and Dean Holden as many of you seem to be and therefore don't come at it as anyone but those two is a relief and b) Bristol City fans are prone to motivated reasoning on Pearson now hence everyone harps back to what Pearson (and Walsh) did at Leicester, rather than since. As for Walsh, yes my opinion is more negative. The interview in The Athletic that people quote comes across really poorly in my view and backs up some of the things I've heard about him. You'll also struggle to find an Evertonian with anything good to say about him (and plenty of supposed itks with plenty negative to say about him). I do think the public narrative around his recruitment is overstated somewhat, we've hardly suffered on recruitment since he left (Summer 2016 was essentially his window and it was an absolute disaster, maybe had something to do with Rob MacKenzie leaving), albeit his strength might be in building the recruitment team which shouldn't be overlooked.

  44. I think we are now pretty much safe. Surely now is the time to not pick anyone whose head is no longer at the club - not just those who want to leave but those who know or suspect they are not being kept on. I’d rather see Conway, Janneh or Britton (or Bell if fit) learn than Fam coast. Similarly I would rather learn what Vyner or Moore could do at right back than continue to see what Hunt is not doing.
