  1. Hindsight is wonderful. We’ve had a terrible season, Max Ehmer on paper was a good signing at this level but for some reason just didn’t work out. Could say exactly the same for a few others; Westbrooke, Oztumer, Nicholson. Garner seemed to take all our experience and and push them out the door. We went into the season with a very inexperienced strike force and Tisdale didn’t change that when he came in. The loss of JCH was always going to be huge but it’s as if we made zero effort to try to replace him. I’m not asking for another striker like him, but 2 or 3 who can chip in and maybe score 30 between them. McCormick on loan from Chelsea has been brilliant and it’s rumoured he’s off to Millwall next season, wish him all the best. I want to say had Jaakola been fit all season we’d have put up more of a fight. He’s a quality keeper at this level but even if he had we were so poor everywhere else I really don’t think it would have mattered. As for managers, IMO our best chance of staying up was under Garner and that speaks for itself. I’m actually disgusted with the way Barton has come in and handled pretty much everything. Wael has backed him publicly and I like Wael, you can see he wants to do right by the football club but it’s just not happening for him. Regardless we deserved what we got this season. The joys of supporting a club not in the top 6 is that this is football. We take the real bad times and still support our club. I know Rovers are shit. I’ve been paying to sit on the sofa all year watching us lose to pretty much everyone. I’ve hated pretty much every minute of it but come the new season I’ll either be there in person or watching on iFollow again. Anyway, enjoy the summer lads. We’re all England now aren’t we?

  2. Here's City in Div 4 showing how it should be done In he 31st minute the commentator remarks that City's home attendance over the season "was over 190,000, the envy of some 3rd and 2nd division clubs"

  3. Whilst experiencing the usual aggravation trawling through any article on the Bristol Post website I found the following picture particularly pertinent - I might be wrong but this CCTV image of the "coffin vandal" looks like the perpetrator isn't exactly in the early stages of youth. They're barely attracting minimal new, fresh support at best. This is just some fat old Sag fart doing his best to try and maintain an appearance of parity between the two clubs. The gap has never been wider and they know it. FTG

  5. Agree, I think your best chance of staying up this season would have been to stick with Ben Garner. a) it was his team so the players were more likely to respond to the guy who signed them, rather than managers who consistently told them they weren't good enough b) When he was sacked, you were clear of the relegation zone despite having played several of the better teams in the league in the early fixtures. The buck has to stop at the top though, Wael has made several catastrophic decisions which has led to this relegation and it was entirely self inflicted, so blame ultimately has to lie with him. Same with Lansdown here, they both put too much trust in those below them and should have been a lot more hands-on. Bristol football really has been a total shambles this season and it's just not good enough for a city of this size, especially when you see how what the rugby club has achieved.

  7. I'm struggling with my thoughts at the moment. I really feel that the best thing for football in this city, would be for them to disappear completely. Then they could be added to the list of things Bristol had and lost. I can't stand the club and the way it's portrayed in the BRFC friendly local media. They have done nothing to deserve what they think they deserve, as in someone else building a stadium for them and they have been an embarrassment to our city with their move away to Bath while blaming our city for all their ill fortune when in reality, they have nobody but themselves and their directors who've bled them dry, to blame. Pathological liars. We know how they tried to steal Ashton Gate from us while claiming we were the immoral ones and, how they succeeded in stealing the rugby ground. I have to admit that I feel the pain for their decent supporters but, I'd have felt even more pain personally if they weren't here providing that little bit of comfort watching their demise, during what must rank as one of our worst ever seasons. So I'm grateful for that little contribution from the dark side to ease my mental state. So for the moment I'm glad they're here but, in the future they can **** right off and sink into oblivion.

  12. The delusion still exists. I’m sure Wally wants to do right by the club. Yeah, I mean he’s been a loyal, true and ‘prowed’ supporter since his early schooldays in Amman, and of course he was a regular when at university in Boston, Massachusetts. Wake up fella. He’s doing right by himself, his own pocket and his own desire to be ‘in’ football. You’ll be a long forgotten blip on his CV is 10 years time.

  13. If all the gas heads can constantly throw at us is something that happened nearly 40 years ago in 1982, long before many city fans were born (but I guess the blue half havent many fans born since then) it just shows what a pitifull existence they have had since.

  16. Add to that, that Bristol Sport were chucking money at a racing driver and badminton side at one point, I can't believe the investment required for the womens side would have been that great to even get them as a mid table side. The WSLs profile is going to take off next season and sadly we've missed the boat. I really feel for Matt Beard and his squad tonight as they couldn't ever be faulted for effort but sadly just not up to the required standards to stay in the league Sky struggling again

  18. Tisdale was on a PPG of 0.95 which means had they stuck with him they would have scored 6 more points which would have been enough to........ Finish in 23, one point above Swindle. Well it's something ????

  19. True. I doubt Bristol Academy would have been able to find the funds to develop so in theory having the Bristol Sport backing should have seen a level of investment that could have seen them at least competing in the top half of the table. As it stands, I think someone forgot to remind the family that they actually own the team. With 2 points from the first 10 games and no apparent demand for improvement or signing new players, shunting the team off to Bath to play (not that this really mattered without fans) and the lack of discussion around the team from the club all means it would seem they couldn't really give a.toss what the Ladies team does. It's a wasted opportunity as women's football is steadily growing and it's another chance of getting the shirt seen by the wider community. I thought Bristol Sport was all about maximising the brand.

  20. You are not wrong. What I don't understand, it would have taken such modest investment (compared to the money spent on the mens) to have kept them in the top division. A half-decent CM and CB would probably have been enough. Now their few good players will leave and it won't be easy getting back with only 1 team promoted each season.

  21. Whilst you're right of course about not missing that particular "landmark", it does actually raise nostalgia in the write up. Floodlight pylons for my years growing up and going away with the City served as excellent landmarks to spot whilst driving around the country. "Look over there - that's Walsall's ground" - "Over there, Brentford's floodlights" etc etc. The country's skyline will never feel as exciting again.

  22. I hate modern day footballers - absolute pandered snow flakes completely out of touch with reality. Can't wait for some of these wastes of space to find it difficult to get their next gravy train job. I know some will disagree with my view but I really do think the vast sums of money they earn and the way they are pampered by a Club/staff is part of the cause of what we're now seeing here. Players thinking they are above the rules/law and thinking they're 'gods' and can do what they want with zero consequences. Would love it if football introduced performance based contracts. I suspect we might end up seeing footballers actually earning their money then.
