  1. You are talking in fifths now, LR. And you know what they are like with fractions ! They will, of course, claim that six fifths of Bristol is "theirs"

  2. I don’t consider Rugby League to be a sport Peter ?

  3. Thank you. That was the point I was trying to make in reaction to anyone (although it’s usually Gasheads) who accuse clubs like Fleetwood and Accrington of being ‘tinpot’ based on attendances. In a City with a population of around a million (when you take into consideration the surrounding towns where many City and Rovers fans come from) both clubs are poorly supported....Rovers especially so, which is amusing as they in particular have massive delusions of grandeur when it comes to their fan base. We can come up excuses about students and amateur football but those factors aren’t unique to Bristol.

  4. Let's be honest, support for both Bristol clubs is quite poor considering the size of Bristol, catchment area and lack of competition, City are making progress in increasing support due mainly to the facilities at AG (certainly not the football over the last couple of years). I think Bristol in general has plenty of football fans but not so many football supporters, unfortunately a lot of those fans wear shirts from clubs over 100 to 150 miles away, really pisses me off to be honest.

  5. New stadiums increase the attendances of whoever builds one, Rovers would be no exception. That only proves that they are no more ‘real’, ‘loyal’ or ‘unique’ than anyone else....and certainly no better than us. I hear them piping up all the time asking the question “how many would City get if they played home games at the Mem?” Well, I’m confident we’d fill it far more than they do. For starters AG was hardly a state of the art stadium a few years ago and I remember the home section of the East End being pretty full every game I went in there, often being opened up further to meet demand....the majority stood up for 90 minutes despite having the option of sitting on a crappy backless plastic seat. I don’t think a bit of terrace would scare our fans away.

  7. You forgot the contradictory gas logic that your post is true, and they are loyal and true (all of them), but additionally they would get loads more fans if they didn’t play in a shithole.

  8. Thought they were supposed to be ‘loyal and true’...“if they play on the street we’ll watch from the pavement blah blah blah bollocks”? You’re right, they’re no better than anyone else, in fact, considering they were getting less than 6k home fans in L1 after a few defeats they’re probably more fickle than most. Grubby little plastics.

  9. The age divide has been apparent for ages. We have supporters split across the ages. There is predominantly older. Next time there is shots of each others crowds in the paper, online etc., check it out. You'll notice it.

  10. Their problem is that the vast majority of youngsters are choosing City over the sags. I wish it were more but that's a fact. I'm not sure their support can recover as they've pretty much lost a generation to us, apart from a small %. Great for us though.

  13. So, based on STs sold up to now are the s*gs now the blue 20% of the City?

  14. And that's the blunt truth of it. And it's also the truth, in my opinion, that if Rovers had managed to build that ~20k seater stadium they've been promised since forever, and if they had been a decently run club for the last 30 years or so, they may well have attained and secured a reasonable parity with us, and probably be a Championship team. And if that was case, they'd obviously be enjoying a lot more gate than their scant 6-8k or whatever it is/was. The reason their fans are almost nowhere to be seen at all is that their club, on and off the field, have been a consistent shower for nigh on these last 30 years.

  15. They can sell it to any company outside of the Football Club group, (being Football Club, Property and Holdings) to realise a profit for FFP purposes. The original cost was around £28 million, so selling at current valuation would result in a £12 million profit on that basis.

  20. You are looking at the Group Balance Sheet which includes all the assets and liabilities of the Group headed by Bet 365 Group Limited, which will exclude items such as investments in subsidiaries and intra-group loans. The Company Balance Sheet for Bet 365 Group Limited does not include the individual Football Club assets. It will be included in the Group Balance Sheet under "Freehold Land and Buildings". The reason that the Stadium shows up separately on the Group Balance Sheet is that it is included on a "Valuation Basis" and therefore needs to be disclosed separately. The other land and buildings are all included on a "Cost Basis".

  21. It's a divisional matter. Presumably Ashton has resigned as well, will be interesting to see who is elected.

  22. Pops, on your earlier post, I would say few of us are anti Derby per se. We are simply anti rule busters. The rules may be stupid, they may be almost, but not quite, impossible to follow and it's up to a club if they balls up their maths to have a go at a fiddle . That's their business. But, upon being caught they must do the time. The FL are fudging the entire thing as of now. We hold out hope for justice.
