  2. Sadly test cricket has been pushed into the margins by the ECB. We're probably getting what they want, an exciting new format to enjoy....

  3. We need a thorough reexamination of our red ball cricket like we did with white ball in preparation for the World Cup cycle

  5. This year they knock one out about tarmac, the other year it was a new canopy and the shampooing of the curtains in the supporters lounge - what next? jetwashing the bird shit off the 'stand' roofs?

  7. I can't believe how good Ponce was in that fight. Incredibly skillful, fearless fighter and only 24! Respect to Ritson for taking it, but he was ludicrously far out of his depth.

  9. He could blow UK level fighers away before he couldn't make Lightweight any more. Hyped up remorselessly by Matchroom to tap into the Geordie market, but blatantly not good enough. edit- Wtf is going on here hahaha, never seen a ref chuck the towel back out before, even if only he can stop the fight according to the rules, it's madness. Still trying to process that. Wtf was Steve Gray doing? Trying to think of a ref ever ignoring a towel before? Take nothing away from Ponce though, fantastic, courageous performance.

  12. Nasser has just absolutely nailed the batsmen on Sky, they think they know better than everyone who's ever played the game about how to bat properly.

  19. You never know! In a similar vein, I have to wonder if my FFP thread which I started I'm 2019 attracted both strong views by fans on here and seemingly fans of rival clubs defending their position got noticed. The EFL AGM is in the near future, wonder if the reports of punishment and this might be linked.

  22. Indeed Idliketo, I thought the same as you, which is why I snuck into the Memstad the other day to gather some evidence. Their tarmac is indeed something to be proud of. Special, just like them...?

  23. I am trying to remember the last club to get away scott free? I am certain every single compliant club will want sanction and rightly so and they will get it. Because if they don't the FL have effectively delivered themselves a P45. The vast majority of clubs will vote to abolish, ignore, call it what you want, the entire Football League governing body and start a new one. And when they do that they should of course revert to its right and proper name THE Football League; none of this self belittling EFL bullshit. FIFA members failed to walk away and start afresh but I think 72 English clubs will act differently and decisively. Derby will be invited to join but they will need to take their medicine. If they don't they don't join.. no need for an appeal system you just withdraw their membership invitation. This nuclear option should be proffered to the current 'governing' body charlies ; it should wake them up. if not, ta ta.

  24. So they have taken a member of their board, who was previously Head of recruitment and director of football, and given him a role similar to that of Tins, where amongst their duties they will oversee the loan of developing players... Now, Tins does a fantastic job, made all the more challenging by the huge number of players we have developed meaning his work provides first team opportunities, players who might struggle to make it at their stage of their career to make their mark in the Championship, but the league experience still gives them a chance of a league career. What is their loans manager going to do from a basement club? Send players off to the park and see if anyone fancies a kick about. Tinpot.
