  1. At least their is one poster who talks sense on their forum? Just shows how far ahead they are. Their ground is hosting play off finals and half of ours would blow away in a gale

  2. Thanks Matt Langley. I've never heard the phrase 'Good risens' before. I will need to remember that one to impress my mates up the pub. #the gift that....

  5. Good win for Glos by D/L tonight. When you look at the scores it looks like D/L got the target just right for a change.

  6. Agreed on both counts. However, I've been scarred by far too many failed playoff campaigns by Bristol over the years, that I'm fully expecting the worst against Quins!

  7. And the Gillette Cup. Probably my favourite ever match was when Somerset beat Surrey (John Edrich, Robin Jackman, Geoff Arnold) at Taunton in the 1974 quarter final. Ian Botham played, but didn't bat, former England wicketkeeper, Jim Parks, played but didn't keep wicket, Brian Close and Sir Viv Richards only contributed a few runs each and the star was the unsung hero, 'Dashing' Peter Denning. A wonderful day out with more than 500 runs scored - a rarity back then. Also a lovely story about Hallam Moseley, but that is a different subject altogether.

  8. The fact that Rovers terminated his contract, removing any possible fee they could've got for him, and he then signs for Gillingham in under 24 hours.. priceless.

  9. Don’t forget though, according to them we’re the deluded ones who think our club is massive.....?

  10. Of course Weepy, we shouldn't let facts get in the way of their ostrich like delusion after all. For a club without a pot to piss in, no money to buy land, or actually build a stadium on that land pus their shite crowds that don't even come close to warranting something of this size, they aren't half ambitious dreaming big. Yes, that's hotel as well. Anyone got a couple of hundred £Million spare? They would only need to open one end but let's not allow that to get in the way of their total pipe dream eh!

  11. Very early for this kind of thing, but made purely out of my own interest in seeing people's opinions.

  12. Are the club going to launch baby wear this year? Why is our merchandise so poor in options compared to other clubs ?

  17. Re questions 5 and 6. I think we need to sign in a variety of positions, and can't really pick a priority. I put ACM as last couple of seasons it's been the supply to the strikers that's been lacking. I've not been following transfer rumours this off-season. I've therefore no idea who we've been linked with or haven't been linked with so honestly am not 100% sure who these blokes are that you've listed. I put King, because he's a King. I'd have preferred an extra "I'm not confident but he seems alright for now" option on Pearson.

  22. re his predecessor ".............. the central defender never looked happy, comfortable or even competent in the blue and white quarters." All the requirements for a perfect fit, I would have thought !

  23. I have brewed the IPA and both my son and I loved it. It is what I wanted from a beer ie to taste the hops and malt not an abundance of fruit. I haven't noticed any loss in flavour. It was their stout that confirms what extra days do in the conditioning. Just like comparing a 10yr old Bushmills to a 12,16 or 25 Yr old version, all the flavours become more balanced and deliver a more rounded taste the longer you leave it. The Dark Matter Stout was blind tasted by our next door neighbour. He absolutely loved it as he was a Guinness fan. The Mk 1 version (minimum brew and conditioning) to him was slightly licorice heavy whilst my mk2 version (maximum 5 and 7 days for both) wasn't. I agreed. The hops, roasted barley and the taste of coffee were all there but had mellowed to create that fuller flavour. I am currently working through all their fresh presses but will return to the IPA soon as it really was fantastic. My notes (see pic) suggests I should condition a bit longer next time....just to see what difference an extra day or two would make. I am brewing their Four Saisons next weekend as I haven't tried it before. I'm not much of a lager man but am determined to crack the Czech lager. It has been more than good on both previous occasions but I'm hoping the max conditioning time will help rival my favourite lager namely Budvar! My personal preferences so far are Nuevo and IPA. Lockwood, Dark Matter and Republic are also recommended. Waltham Forest Fruits Cider to be avoided as IT ISN'T CIDER! Cider has apples. End of. Grrrr. Mind you I haven't tried it but that's besides the point! Cloudy Nine Cider was ok. It beats Rockshore Cider and Strongbow easily BUT once you've tried Thatcher's Gold you won't want anything else apart from Haze and Katy and others in their range. What have you tried?

  29. I can remember the John Player League, 40 overs each on a Sunday. When Somerset got over 180 we knew we were in with a good shout, over 200 was thrilling stuff. This was with Botham and Richards in the team. You’d need over 400 now.

  33. Obviously the tax dodger Pantsdown has paid them to post. No-one could possibly believe players would really say these things about the universally loved special club admired by football fans the world over.

  35. Hi mate, hope you and your family are well! Hearn says it'll be £1.99 for the summer at least- I can see it going up to £4.99 or £5.99 for the rest of the year. It's great that Sky have picked up Top Rank's international shows too. Let's see about Ritson now then, I don't massively rate him tbh. Evening @B1ackbird

  36. Just starting to get back into this after got injured early January. Taken about 3 months to get back to half marathon which I did in 1 hour 54 on Monday. On New Years Day I did my best of 1 hour 47 so still a way to go but amazed by how long it took me to get back to even anywhere close. 6 weeks out made a hug difference - starting to see why it takes so long for footballers to get back to speed after an injury.
