  2. I've tried not to look if I'm honest, it's a Michelin * restaurant so I've put faith in the fact they know what they're doing. The venue is spectacular, below the old General Hospital. As I understand it you receive 20 courses. There is one dining time per evening at 7pm, and you enter the restaurant at that time and are looked after for the rest of the evening. Apparently it's good fun - the service is excellent and they play loud music, unlike most pricey places to eat. It's an experience, so I guess it's not just about the food - though I am expecting big things! I've paid £50 for Michelin * food so for the price Casamia are charging I am expecting it to be bloody good. It's a once in a blue moon experience tho.

  3. I went to Root a few years ago and thought it was superb, particularly to deliver cooking mostly veg ingredients. Very impressive and has earned it's Michelin Plate. Agree on Pasture and though I had a bad experience at 7 lucky gods, agree the Korean Chicken and cocktails are very good. I had a tuna sashimi dish which was inedible though. I'm off to Casamia in August. It better be good paying £180 up front for food before drinks. I heard Pete Sanchez's new place up in London is a bit style over substance so hope Casamia delivers on both.

  4. THE ROBINS FOUNDATION TACKLE LONELINESS FRIDAY, JUNE 18TH 2021 This week people and organisations have come together to raise awareness for loneliness. It's no surprise that this past year has left a lot of people feeling lonely and isolated. As socialising was put on hold, those who had previously relied on attending weekly sessions for their social interactions really struggled. This was very much the case for some of the players of the Bristol City Walking Football team. When Covid-19 first hit back in March 2020 and sessions had to stop Lee Gillett - the Health and Well-being Lead at the Robins Foundation was conscious that some of the elderly players in the walking football team would find it difficult. To tackle this Lee would call to check in on players who lived alone for a chat and to make sure they had everything they needed. Lee would also knock on the player's doors that lived locally to him, for a chat and to drop off sport's equipment so players were able to stay active at home. For many of the players walking football means a lot more than just meeting up with friends and playing football, as for some it is the only social interaction they have. Pre-covid the players would stay after sessions had finished, for a cup of tea and coffee to catch up and check-in with one another. As a team, they would also have quiz nights and organise social events throughout the year. These formed friendships and solid support group has kept many of the players going when they were struggling with their own mental health issues or going through difficult periods of their lives. Lee Gillett said, "Our walking football sessions are much more than just a kick about, we have created a team spirit where we support each other on and off the pitch." To get involved and join the walking football team, feel free to come to the sessions below. Tuesday’s at Imperial Sports Ground South Bristol, BS14 9EA. 10:30am - 11:30am. Cost: £4 (Outdoors) Thursday’s at Imperial Sports Ground South Bristol, BS14 9EA. 10:30am - 11:30am. Cost: £4 (Outdoors) Should you require any additional information on these sessions, please contact the Robins Foundation on 0117 963 0636 or email: lee.gillett@bcfc.co.uk If you or anyone you know feels lonely or struggling please contact Samaritans Call: 116 123 Email: jo@samaritans.org

  5. Not quite correct Sir - when Cotts came in Ashton Gate was in its full, former glory - he had six months of our dear old stadium at its old capacity - work/demolishing things didn’t start until May 2014 ...

  6. That was the season after. Regarding League position we were in the bottom 4 when Cotts arrived and a late equaliser for Notts County at Meadow Lane after we’d been 1 up for most of the match meant we were bottom at Christmas 2013. A truly shit year, yet we were still getting 10k+ at home. Rovers crowds drop down to the 6k mark when they lose a few games. Fickle bunch.

  7. Bet there isn’t. Tickets hugely expensive with people likely short on cash, played Bristol before and voice shot away - see the difficulty in selling Rod Stewart tickets pre pandemic for your touchstone - and he could still sing

  9. And we were all convinced you were David Furnish! I only know he played the cricket ground because my mum took my nan to see him. My mum described it as "the worst concert I have ever seen, he was awful. He just can't sing anymore, I'd rather hear cats screeching. Your nan enjoyed it though.", which stuck in my mind. ?

  12. Not a coup then Tbf I’ve never been a fan of Reg. But I do pity anyone going to see him now hoping to see the great vocalist of the “Your Song” era. As the clip below from his latest live performance confirms, he appears to have turned into Vic Reeves’ club singer:

  14. Indeed. That food market area is a spoil in general. Coffee, meats, cake, lunch; it has it all there more or less.

  19. At least their is one poster who talks sense on their forum? Just shows how far ahead they are. Their ground is hosting play off finals and half of ours would blow away in a gale
