  1. I totally get where you are coming from but I struggle to agree with this ... my great grandad, grandad and dad were all gasheads and they loved their club ... it’s always dreadful when fans lose their club, whoever they are. With my Partick Thistle connections, I felt genuinely gutted for the loyal Clydebank FC fans who had their club pillaged and dissolved by the despicable actions of “Little Chelsea” (Airdrieonians). Airdrie were in financial trouble, went out of business and simply decided to take over another club who were also struggling. They took over Clydebank, shut it down and relaunched it as Airdrie United. Words fail me on that one. Clydebank away was always a top day out for Thistle - local derby and some great banter with no real hatred. You’d often see Marti Pellow at those games as his band sponsored Clydebank. Best pies in Scotland there too! And I was also gutted for Bury FC fans when their club ceased to exist recently - to be so close to Manchester and support The Shakers means you are a proper fan ... it’s always horrible when a fanbase (however small) loses their club ...

  6. If Venkys is the TopCo for FFP purposes then group accounts have to be prepared for the year ending on a date in the period from 31 May to 31 July - see reg 1.1.3 penultimate paragraph: "If the accounting reference date falls at any other time, separate accounts for the Club or the Group as appropriate must be prepared for a period of twelve months ending on a date between 31 May and 31 July inclusive, and in such a case “Annual Accounts” means those accounts." That reads better! Firstly the problem with the amortisation method used was, quoting the actual decision at para 108.a, that " ... it was impermissible in amortising under the cost model in relation to the accounts for 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18 for the Club to take into account possible resale values of players." So using a different method with resale values is still impermissible. Using some sort of flexible amortisation is possible, but that would need extensive documentation to demonstrate and we already know that that does not exist. As far as I can see it is a simple straight line, nothing else is possible. There really is not enough good data out there to determine if Derby failed or passed FFP. If Leeds had failed FFP then they would have had to have taken the punishment, but there is no evidence that they did, I am sure that they actually passed it. Failing is cheating, not failing is not cheating. Also one living on the edge, but I suspect that a good dose of averaging, Parachutes and judicious covid related amortisation will see them through.

  12. Great question Antman. I have a student son who helps me out with the consumption! However, I have always loved my beer but have never been a big drinker. For me, 4 pints in an evening (3 hours) is perfect. I suppose the answer to your question is No! The Pinter makes 10 pints. In the other new thread about how to make Cider, the poster talks about bottling in his IKEA Flip-top bottles. I have a different make and they're 500ml flip-tops. The next bit is based on what I've read on the Pinter Forum and my own experience. The Greater Good claims that the beer will stay fizzy for up to 3 days. I've noticed that my remaining beer the following day has lost a bit of fizz. This is where the flip-tops plus brewer's carbonation drops come in handy. Others just add sugar btw. Having sterilised each bottle (I use Milton Baby Sterilising Fluid but a dishwasher on the hottest setting works really well apparently). I have worked out that each 500ml bottle needs 3ml of Milton. Digital Kitchen scales are fantastic! Add water to the solution, put the tops on, give it a shake and leave 15 minutes. Then simply pour away. Job done. I then get a measuring jug and pour the pinter beer into it to transfer into the bottles. Others have used a syphon or tool bought from eBay. Then leave the beer with carbonation drop in the same warm place you left the Pinter when brewing. I use the kitchen worktop above the Dishwasher. Leave your bottles for 5 days ie a second fermentation and then fridge for 1 day to stop the process. Basically, a week later you'll have another fresh beer supply and it will be clearer too! I have a pass code so if you want to order please see the attached screenshot. We both win! Anyone can PM me and I'll gladly supply the code.

  14. Well yes technically. Though he had been living in Swindon for a few years prior to his joining XTC. Jonathon Perkins was on keyboards prior to Barry Andrews; I saw his band Miss World at The Marquee in the early 90s and they were excellent. There is very little of them recorded with this the most representative of their live act. This was a great song and they did an excellent cover of What a Wonderful World.

  16. NO ONE does it better than the Gas. They are a constant source of ridicule. Their list of comedy gold is just endless. I still laugh out loud when I think of their promotion bus tour and the thousands of missing fans who stayed at home to cheer them on.
