  1. I would have to resign if I got caught watching this in Parliament.

  2. Good day fellow Reds. Our final home game of the season has arrived and it maybe the last time we see a few of our players at Ashton Gate in a City shirt. A crowd of 20,000 + is anticipated, which is really tremendous support. With both teams having secured Championship survival today it’s hopefully about playing without any pressure and let’s hope we can finish the season well by making it five unbeaten today. Having ravaged the Rams last time out let’s hope we can tame the Tigers today, however, if things don’t go well, this might help!: https://www.wikihow.com/Survive-a-Tiger-Attack Over the years we have a reasonable record against Hull City, we’ve won 36, lost 28 and drawn 25. Hull haven't won a league game at Ashton Gate since a 2-1 Championship success in 2012, though arguably the most memorable meeting in the West Country between the two clubs came in April 2018 when the pair shared a 10-goal thriller. We twice led by two goals before they came back to lead 5-4, only to see Joe Bryan crash in a 94th-minute leveler. Earlier in the season, in Yorkshire, it finished 2-2 with Matty James’ added-time equaliser securing a point at the MKM Stadium, highlights: The commentary, when they scored their second, was ‘Bristol City were far too passive’, which has been something of a recurring theme this season. Last weekend both teams notched three with Hull putting three past Reading. They are immediately below us in the table in 18th with two points fewer. Our last six games have ended in 3 draws, 2 wins and 1 defeat = 9 points, Hull have recorded 3 wins and 3 defeats = 9 points. Adam Pearson sold the club to a consortium led by Paul Duffen in June 2007, stating that he "had taken the club as far as I could", and would have to relinquish control in order to attract "really significant finance into the club". Under Paul Duffen and manager Phil Brown, Hull City improved greatly on their relegation battle of 2006–07 and qualified for the play-offs after finishing the season in third place. They beat Watford 6–1 on aggregate in the semi-finals and of course played us in the final on 24 May 2008, which they won 1–0 at Wembley Stadium in front of a crowd of 86,703 with Hull native Dean Windass scoring the winning goal. Their ascent from the bottom division of the Football League to the top division of English football in just five seasons was the third-fastest ever. http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/7416502.stm On 24 April 2021, they secured an immediate return to the EFL Championship, with two games to play, after a 2–1 win against a Lincoln City. On 29 April 2021, at the EFL Awards ceremony, Grant McCann secured the EFL League One Manager of the Season award. Back in January of this year Hull City were taken over by the Turkish-based Acun Medya Group, which ended Assem and Ehab Allam's 12-year spell in charge of the club, during which fans repeatedly protested about the way it was run. The Allam’s had been looking to sell up for a number of years but a number of deals have fallen through, including one in 2016 involving a consortium from China and Japan collapsed. Acun Ilicali, the new owner, is a Turkish businessman and TV personality, he ultimately reached a £20 million agreement with the Allam family. They appointed ex-Rangers and Ajax striker Shota Arveladze as head coach on a two-and-a-half-year deal. His coaching CV includes stints in the Netherlands, Turkey, Israel and, most recently, in Uzbekistan. The 48-year-old Georgian replaced Grant McCann, who was sacked following the takeover. Owner Acun Illcali has pitched a very special away trip later this year. At a recent fans event, Illcali announced plans to take 250 supporters, with one guest each, on a five-star holiday to his home country Turkey this summer. The winners will be selected from a lottery for June's five-day trip to Antalya. "I thought about what I can do to make our fans feel different. I want being a Hull City fan to be a privilege," he said. We're going to have a private chartered flight from Humberside Airport to Antalya. Five days in a five-star hotel. We're going to enjoy together, everybody will have good memories." On 29 June 2010, Nigel Pearson was appointed Hull City manager. Despite financial difficulties, following relegation from the Premier League, Pearson was still able to enter the transfer market, bringing in players such as Nolberto Solano, James Harper, Liam Rosenior, Robert Koren and Jay Simpson. The club won their first away game in over a year at Norwich City in September. Following that victory, Pearson's club broke a 66-year-old record with 14 consecutive away games without defeat. The season ended with an 11th-place finish. Hull started the 2011–12 season with the club sitting one point outside the play-offs, having a game in hand in the middle of November; however, on 7 November 2011 Pearson requested permission to talk to his former club Leicester. Pearson was persuaded to rejoin Leicester City under their new ownership by chairman Vichai Raksriaksorn, and he was re-appointed as manager on 15 November 2011. The programme: https://robinstv.bcfc.co.uk/digital-matchday-programme/ City will welcome a Famous Five from the 1990s ahead of kick-off. Wayne Allison, Junior Bent, Rob Edwards, Nicky Morgan and Mark Shail will at 2.45pm be pitch-side, where they will be interviewed and shown on the big screen. With a combined 945 Bristol City appearances and 122 goals, including many memorable games stretching across the decade - four of them started in that famous 1-0 FA Cup victory away to Liverpool at Anfield in January 1994 - these Robins are certainly remembered fondly. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/90s-famous-five-saluted-at-hull-city-match/ Bristolian Danny Coles played for us and them, he made 148 appearances for us between 1999 and 2005 scoring six times. Another local is Alfie Jones who will be returning to his home city today. The Hull City defender was born in Bristol, although he never played for either City or Rovers, coming through the ranks at Southampton instead. After bagging a brace in the Tiger's last outing against Reading, Lewis-Potter will be eager to contribute in front of goal once again as Hull City go in search of their fourth victory in their last five. Harvey Cartwright might be given a chance to notch-up a third Championship appearance of the season for them today and NP might decide to give opportunities to a couple of our younger players. In his presser he said ‘they’ll be a few disappointed players.’ Todays officials: Referee: Ben Toner, who has not taken charge of any Championship games this season. Assistant Referee: Robert Merchant Assistant Referee: Nick Greenhalgh Fourth Official: Darren Bond Enjoy the game and have a great long weekend.

  3. The forwards will rightly get the plaudits today, but my MoM was Klose. Masterful performance. We need to get him signed.

  4. Jeff just announced that Kammy is leaving SS after 24 years and they are currently showing a montage of his `best bits`. Presumably it`s for health reasons as widely reported a few weeks ago (i can`t find the thread). Good luck Chris in whatever you do and look after your health. We`ll all miss you.

  5. My lad is one of the mascots today and has just been to meet the players. He asked Joe Williams if he had elastic bands for hamstrings, then said it was me that told him to say it! ???? Thank God I wasn’t actually there. He’s so out of the will…… if you read this Joe, so sorry!

  6. No thoughts for the players or their young families and how they would feel about it. I don’t really mind a few kids ending up evading stewards but 30 40 50 year old blokes doing it is a bad look.

  8. Shows how our fanbase has grown in recent years to be honest - to be able to still pull in 20k at home after the dire season we have had is v impressive. I don’t care what anyone says we are a well supported club at this level..

  9. Thanks for spoiling the walk round at FT. I really wanted to see you acting like knobheads instead of applauding the players. Cheers!

  11. Can you leave the Gas chat to the dustbin? Brilliant performance from the lads. Best of the season by far. Delighted for the whole team not just the boys up top. Yet they were class. Hope they carry that into next season!

  12. I’m hoping it puts the Pearson debate to bed for now. I’m far from convinced anyone else would have done much better with what he inherited. And we’ve done it with a lot of home grown talent, which is great. An important summer coming up.

  13. After much criticism over the past few weeks when they were struggling for form following injury lay offs, I thought they were both outstanding today. Fully fit they will form a more than decent midfield pairing next season imo.

  14. Lifting your manager onto your shoulders in celebration of winning one game of football against Rochdale, to take you to the dizzy heights of 72nd in the football league, in a division that Nailsworth have just been promoted out of… …..might just be the very definition of tinpot.

  16. Why are pitch invasions frowned upon nowadays? Years ago it was the done thing last game of the season regardless of how things had gone. Games gone soft! Just to add to that, don’t get the point of the lap of appreciation either.

  17. Same as Tammy's goals kept you up - most teams outside of the Premiership benefit from loan players at some point. Why on earth would somebody wish that on a youngster who's just starting his career - for me, that's crossed the line.

  18. A nasty thing to wish on a decent young player with genuine prospects.. Pathetic comment ..

  22. Well done to all concerned today. A great team performance full of energy and endeavour. Hull got dispirited very quickly as we , as they say, ‘ wanted it more’ And why did we ? Step up Largish Nige. He has done a very good job in forging this team identity.Well done Sir. That looked like a team that can go on to better things, if we can hang on to Semenyo at the very least and keep the majority of them fit and available.

  23. No but it’s attempts to discredit our performance a bit. Fair play to the lads for finishing strong, could have easily been a drab end of season game today

  24. A huge huge goal for a certain Brownhill for Burnley to put them ahead at Watford.

  25. For me, how you end the season often determines how you start the next. Get relegated and there’s often a hangover, finish the season unbeaten and there’s a bit of momentum. We’ve all seen our lot go through the motions at the end of the season in recent years, none more so than the dicking at Millwall last May. So give credit where credit’s due for today. Our front three complement each other well. Tighten up at the back and strengthen in certain positions and we will be upwardly mobile IMO.

  26. Couple of gas on 606 just now saying they should be in League One “at least”, made a comment along the lines of “we’re coming for Bristol City”. I think they need to calm down a bit.

  28. This is where I bash the Commercial Department again ( I wish the Lansdown's would read this and take note ). The whole commercial side is not fit for purpose . Yeah we've had some nice kits, but stock can be sketchy, they don't get it in early so people can buy for the summer, the stock in the shop is poor, nothing about it says we want to make money. The kit should be ready for the end of the season, last home game would be ideal. Get the whole summer to sell shirts, people could get them for holiday and the start of the season. Before now they've arrived into the season, they miss out on selling so many shirts through poor organisation.

  29. With all the talk of Massengo, Scott & Semenyo having potential offers in the summer, I wouldn’t be surprised if Weimann actually has a heck of a lot of interest too. After Mitro & Solanke, he’s the best striker in the championship this season. There will definitely be clubs who are interested.

  35. These two elements were what stood out for me today. We actually passed the ball with a purpose, a bit of zip to it. Far to often the passing is so slow, where as today we passed it with the belief that the recipient could handle the ball. It stops the other team from being able to get back into shape etc & pulls them about. That coupled with the much better & more fluent movement was exactly what I want to be watching from City. Energy & purpose, was great to watch. Possibly didn’t need its own topic, but it’s just nice to see so many positives! COYR

  36. Well the first one I saw on the pitch didn't look like the brightest bulb in the packet, sorry if that's you and you're on the forum, but you looked a proper ***** (and not young btw) I said what sort of prat does something like that to my son and we both agreed probably the same sort of tool who finds it more entertaining to throw a shoe around the place than look at what's going on on the pitch (and especially seeing how good it was today)

  37. A bit of a negative post after a great 5-0 win against one of the form teams who had won 3 of their last 4 games

  39. Reckon there is a pre arranged fee in the deal. The fact that he’s started the last 9 suggests they are planning on him being with them next season, which is good news.

They're two adult tickets in the Lansdown lower tier. Happy to forward email with tickets. Just send me a private message, first come first served. COYR

  41. Thanks @Jerseybean I found your report very interesting, particularly the bit on how to survive a tiger attack. I’ve often been worried walking through the park to a game as the bushes could be hiding a lurking tiger ready to attack. Thanks to you, today, I’ll have no worries as if a tiger leaps out and growls I’ll know what to do to survive. Any advice on grizzly bears?

  43. Fun fact: we are now the 5th highest scoring side in the Championship! Our strengths are obvious, but so are our weaknesses. But lovely to think we could retain our attacking intent while tightening up defensively next season. EDIT: 6th highest, Huddersfield just scored. EDIT AGAIN: joint 5th after Andi’s goal!

  44. Calling it now, I think 17th spot is probably about par for this squad and a far from disastrous campaign for Pearson. Also nice to finish the season with a bit of form and optimism. Really hope we can build on this over the summer rather than see it dismantled.
