I often wondered whether Arsene Wenger got the Arsenal job because of his name, and now Hartley Paul get the Hartlepool job. Must mean that Danny Shittu is in line for the Gas job?7 points

At the risk of sounding “super fan” here, your last games (which were our biggest for years) predated Kasey Palmer being here by six months, and signing permanently by a season and a half. Using him as a reason not to go is odd in the extreme, while noting that there will always be genuine reasons people can’t attend such as affordability. In short, stating “My last games were the Manchester cup games and I’m not going again until a man who wasn’t there at the time and I’ve never seen play live leaves” makes you sound like a bit of an arse tbh.7 points

One thing struck me about the celebrations yesterday - no pitch invasion. It meant the players got to celebrate properly on the pitch, all the fans got to see it, and the Welsh players were also able to acknowledge the Ukraine supporters, which I thought was a great touch. I thought it was much better. Tin hat on!6 points

Whatever the end result is with Palmer, from my perspective; he will go down as the worst signing ever in financial terms since I started supporting the club (1978). His lack of end product on the pitch just exemplifies what a truly awful deal it was. Even before his permanent signing, we must have been paying his wages, and a loan fee to Chelsea. By the end of his loan he wasn't even in the first team reckoning. Absolute madness to then buy him, and put him on those wages. That crazy summer of 2019, just keeps coming back to bite us financially.4 points

Whatever the situation may be financially, I will just be glad for this deal to be done. It puts us in a better position moving forward. We will no longer be tied to paying him crazy money to not even make the matchday squad. Potentially gives us room to manoeuvre this summer. It's been a bad deal all round, but we can't begrudge Palmer for the contract that we gave him. At least we can now move forward with a more even wage scale amongst the squad.4 points

Unfortunately, I can't remember the actual game but it would have been in 1950, when I was 11 years old . I am now 82 years old ....so 71 years ago !. In my mind I can still picture Ivor Guy and Jack Bailey , the fullbacks, Ernie Peacock in midfield ; Arnie Rodgers ( C/F ) and Alex Eisenstrager on the right wing . I wonder how many of the current squad will be remembered by fans 70 years from now ?4 points

Perhaps the rumoured shirt announcement will be Kasey ripping off the new City shirt to reveal a Coventry one and walking off.......................................3 points
-
Don't know if it was ever confirmed but there were strong suggestions that Ipswich were doing it with JET during his time with us.3 points
-
Doesn’t have to be, but means Kasey would have to accept us terminating his contract without any ongoing commitment. He is not obliged to do that. But also, Coventry can’t just expect to rock-up, get him on a free and pay minimal wages either on the expectation that City will bear all the loss / cost. City won’t strengthen a rival on the cheap. There will need to be some negotiating on all 3 sides.3 points

There's a word you don't see too often on here. I bought the world's worst Thesaurus yesterday. Not only is it terrible it's also terrible. it went from bad to worse, as someone had torn out the middle pages.3 points

To all those mocking Page’s comments, I don’t know who the best fans in the world are (if there is any such thing) but I arrived in Bordeaux the day after Wales beat either Slovakia or Russia in 2016 (I dont remember which) and the place was full of Welsh drinking and having a good time. I sat with loads and had a great day and I can absolutely say without any doubt I would rather spend time with the Welsh fans at an overseas tournament than the English3 points

Football nowadays is attractoring the wrong type of fan.....?2 points

I have had around fifteen really enjoyable, and at times successful, seasons watching City.........the trouble is I started watching them in March 19642 points
-
Yep me too. There are plenty of Welsh who will always want to beat England / see England lose, but do you know what, there are a lot of people with dual allegiances. And regardless it’s only football so I don’t get the need to express ‘hatred’ for other football fans who if you sat down and had a drink with you’d probably get along famously with. Especially given Wales’s opposition today and the real world issues they face.2 points

17th March 2018 - Ipswich Town I held up this banner, left before Kick Off, not been back since. I love football. I love Bristol City. But the whole Season Ticket renewal fiasco of 2018 showed the true colours of those running our club. But worse for me, the unwillingness of most fans to meaningfully oppose it. It left me disillusioned with the club as a whole. I ground hop now, mostly around non-league, but I dabble in L1 and L2 as well. I'll be back one day I'm sure, but not for a while.2 points
