Credit to the Sunderland team of youngsters, they coped very well with the swirling wind, it did not seem to concern them at all. Moved the ball very quickly, kept it on the deck, made numerous opportunities and could have scored a hatful. Bellingham had a particularly golden chance and took an extra touch. Should have buried it. We were all over the place at the back. That calm head of Dickie is a massive miss.

I'm not blowing it out of proportion. It was a very poor performance. It was good to get a point. They were not overly affected by the conditions. They could have scored 6. What is out of proportion about that? I'm talking about today, this game.

Flattered a bit today, it could have been a thrashing, Max was superb, the rest of the defence bamboozled by a couple of kids and some other youn 'uns. An end of season performance if ever there was one. Probably a good time to try some of our younger players now.

He was very happy with the squad he "inherited". He said so, it was a big par of the draw to the club.

Atkinson and Naismith hardly relevant to the game today. It was a stinker but great to get a point. We were playing a very, very young Sunderland side and they looked a far more effective unit. That should give anyone pause for thought.
