  1. It’s got nothing to do with winning or losing but ofcourse you know that and are just trying to stroke your own ego. What a hero.
  2. Yeah but we only have to wear it when the home team play in Red. Infact we could also choose to play in Yelliow rather than a Black if we wanted to.
  3. We never really play well in black & I don’t see any reason why we would have to tonight. Why would we not choose to play in red whenever possible? From a purely personal point I find a game much easier to watch when the colours of the two teams are more contrasting than they were tonight.
  4. Yeah but the issue is there are consistently too many empty seats in what should be a sold out stand. Everyone knows what is going on. People are buying dead cheap u12 seats, getting a free shirt & then not using the seat at all or for a child or mate who goes now & then.
  5. We will be favourites next season any way so a very clever sponsorship if you ask me.
  6. ‘There’s only one Nigel Pearson’ works for me. As does ‘Lansdown , Lansdown sell the club’.
  7. This. We are a joke of a club at the most senior levels & Nige is quite simply a sitting duck. Lansdown’s games could end up taking us down & he would deserve nothing more.
  8. Saffron Athletics Stadium looks a great shout as it is this side of Leicester, near the ground & near the Counting House. Thats what my Leicester mate has recommended to me & to be fair it looks spot on.
  9. I’m convinced that if given the time & an appropriate level of financial backing this is the guy to take us to the Premier League. He is absolutely different class to any other manager in our recent history. Quite why our Owner & his plastic Chairman can’t see that we should be trying to tie Nige down for the medium term future is beyond me. It would be an absolute travesty if he is allowed to walk away from our club at the end of this season without completing the project.
  10. Some really interesting points about SL on this thread. Like a previous poster I am now wondering whether his health is deteriorating at all & whether this has prompted an updated financial strategy. It’s either that or a sale is imminent like others have suggested. Too many things just don’t add up with his recent behaviours & those of his son. The other thing that I am going to raise is that as time has passed over the last 25 years it has become more and more apparent that SL makes bad decisions - lots of them. To the point that his strike rate for a good major decision is about 20%. The way that our operational strategy has supposedly followed the latest small / medium sized club to go past us as they reach the Prem is literally a Primary School method of copying. I am therefore beginning to wonder if SL’s intellect is actually at a level that you would probably expect for a successful ‘self made’ Billionaire. It would be interesting to consider how successful in business SL would have been if his best mate in his college years hadn’t been Peter Hargreaves. My understanding is Hargreaves was the true entrepreneur of the two who headed their risk management & decision making. I believe SL was the more risk adverse accountant type who kept the business solvent & legal during the rocky early years when their equal partnership was initially formed. Maybe the above is an unfair assessment of our owner however it has got to the point now where after so many years of continued mediocrity & ultimately failure against the ultimate ambition that you begin to look at the one common denominator in all that time. SL is without doubt a very wealthy man however we will never really know how much of that wealth was actually down to him or the acumen of another individual. Maybe SL got incredibly lucky getting involved with Peter Hargreaves & that luck mysteriously ran out when they parted ways & he took on sole ownership of Bristol City FC….
  11. Then there’s no point him being the owner anymore more then. Time for a change at the top & a new Chairman with some ambition.
  12. Yeah fair shout & very eloquently put! We got u22.
  13. Weird one this. We sell u19 season tickets so my 18 year old has one. However Leicester Away is u18. Does he need to buy a u22 ticket for Leicester which is a lot more expensive (relatively speaking)?
  14. So Bell is now also worth about £25m aswell?! This is going to be one hell of a nest egg for old Stevie Boy!!
  15. So it really is a case of ….. ‘What’s the story with Ross McCrorie, wouldn’t we like to know?’
  16. This ‘Splat’ Robin (aka Clip Art) nonsense has gone way too far. Absolute Fashion & PR disaster. Whoever is at the heart of this should no longer be at the club and if it is the ‘Chairman’ then he should have walked by now.
  17. Mad isn’t it? Some guy comes over from America & has transformed a basket case club so that it is looking upwards with a positive vibe within weeks - yet we are still going round in circles 25 years later.
  18. In reality there is no Plan B or atleast no Plan B that has any alignment with the P word that was used at the start of the season.
  19. 4-3-3 with two wide players who have clearly been told to hug the touch lines is never going to work. The one striker is totally isolated against two big centre backs & yet we continue to lump it long. What happened to the 4-1-3-2 that was effective last season? The current lack of anything creative going forward is alarming & a real concern. When you add in the complete lack of urgency & intensity that we saw in the first half today it is no wonder that the attacking stats are currently so poor.
  20. Did it say on the pieces of paper that after the display was finished the pieces of paper had to be made in to paper planes and thrown towards the pitch? Cringeworthy behaviour at best from an area of the stadium that goes completely missing when things go wrong on the pitch.
  21. Alot of people in Section 82 spent the first half creating & flying paper planes. It was some of the most bizarre behaviour I have seen for a long time.
  22. The way I look at this - is Scott 10 times better than Knight at Championship level? Ofcourse he isn’t - therefore we are right to sell at the right price. The most important thing now is how we go about finding 3 more Jason Knights / Hayden Roberts level players.
  23. I agree with a few others. That was a very flat uninspiring performance where we didn’t actually look ready for the start of season. We were a team full of 5s & 6s today with no-one taking the responsibility of leading by example. Both full backs & the midfield were so poor going forward that the forwards had nothing much to work with. We are going to be bang in trouble if / when Scott leaves & we don’t reinvest well. That was a reality check today for sure.
  24. It could have been as simple that the tannoy is shite & the screens miles away. I sit in the South Stand and didn’t hear anything but started clapping because everyone else was & then looked at the screen. I really don’t think this has anything to do with ‘snobs’ that you refer to. Infact I think you are simply trying to provoke a reaction & writing this is probably a waste of 2 mins of my life.
  25. It may well be a blessing in disguise that Scott is mysteriously unavailable all of a sudden. We risk a situation where one player dominates the attention of everyone & dilutes the experience for everybody else. We saw that with the end of season walk around the pitch. It was all about Scott. This season is not about Alex Scott. It is about an exciting new team with bags of talent & potential that with a bit of luck could do something special. I’m not saying I don’t want Scott to be part of that team - ofcourse I do. But his head has to be in the right place - which it clearly wasn’t for the last home game of last season.
