I notice that Scott’s photo has not been used in any of the club’s promotional tweets or Instas over the last week or so. It can’t be a coincidence that the club has tried to dampen down any possibility of him playing on Saturday for us.

Given his undoubted talent I genuinely believe that Nige & the team must have seen some sort of flaw. Whether that be physical, mental or character we will never know but somewhere along the line Nige has lost all faith in Kane ever making it at a top end Championship club. Either that or he was just a cheap punt at the time that once seen close up we have then decided he will never possess the required defensive side to his game. Shame really because we all thought he was one hell of a signing 12 months ago.

I should hope so given that he cost somewhere between 4 & 8 times more than most of them!! I’m terms of the value for money that we have got out of players Kalas would be very near the bottom of the list in my opinion.

This is a really odd transfer in my opinion but hey ho. 2nd home game vs Millwall. We know his weaknesses & need our right side to run at him hard from the off. I can’t imagine he is very much looking forward to playing at AG as an away player & we certainly don’t want him to enjoy it on the day. COYRs.

Hold on a minute - I thought he was heading for a new challenge ‘overseas’? He seems a very complex character these days - probably best we steer well clear this time around. He can’t ever seem to make his mind up what he wants. He will probably have a good first 8 or 10 games at Millwall before getting injured & being seen as a waste of money on £20k a week. Thanks for the memories Joe - time for all parties to move on.

He’s been offered a contract for only one reason & it’s not on the basis that we want him to sign it!

I will go as far as to say that assuming we are interested there is no way that Joe Bryan is coming back to play in the Championship for anyone other than Bristol City. Just think about it.

I’m not sure the transfer fee is quite as important as the weekly wage - particularly with the Semenyo & Scott money coming in. If £2m & say £8k a week buys you a top quality CB then the additional £1m initial outlay pales into insignificance once you consider that the player may well be worth more than £2m at the end of his contract anyway. Budget management is all about the weekly wage for me & it would seem you can get good value for money with that when you go shopping in Scotland.

General consensus appears to be that the fee seems relatively high. However I think that is always likely to be the case when you go shopping before Sale season starts. The important thing is we buy what we actually need at the best value we can find rather than something less costly just because it is on special offer. “Buy cheap, buy twice”.

Always injured. Will be interesting to see how his contract situation pans out because he won’t be offered much elsewhere if he’s out for a while again now.

As in miles better I hope. Elliasson was a one trick pony who had no defensive side to his game whatsoever. Mehmeti seems to be a genuine maverick type player, with an aggressive streak & not afraid to get stuck in and tackle.

I think he will also thrive (infact they all will) when Mehmeti starts as he is going to take create space for others as defenders naturally gravitate towards him.

Will be the first time in a long while where we have played Norwich & will be favourites to win! That’s progress. I agree - a couple of Wurzels songs at about 2:45pm & then turn the tannoy off except for the teams announcement. Nothing else required.

I don’t think it’s inconceivable that we are in for both if we are going to continue playing 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. Both players fit either of those systems perfectly and we are currently light of numbers & literally playing the same 11 every match.
