  1. Nor me on Virgin. This service is a disgrace time & again.
  2. Consistently playing Weimann as a Ring Wing Back & King as a Centre Back are sackable offences on their own.
  3. Spot on - it’s not as if our club emblem couldn’t be made into some sort of festive Robin or something!?
  4. You are so wrong. Banter is great but when a player is badly injured you don’t take the piss. A bit like when one of your own is on debut having a mare. Classless behaviour.
  5. Yep spot on. Second time this week that S82 have badly let themselves down. It’s all getting a bit embarrassing with some of this mob now. Showing themselves to be nothing more than a bunch of immature kids. Classless behaviour.
  6. I think I have got this right. We (ball 4) would have been Away to Man Utd (ball 16) if we’d beaten Lincoln. I hope Nige is made aware of this & tells the players at some point.

    Semenyo

He pulled out of atleast two challenges in front of the South Stand tonight. One with the keeper when he looked odds on to nip in & score and then again with a defender right on the byline after 88 mins. Truly embarrassing for a pro to be doing that & shouldn’t be anywhere near the team on Saturday.
  8. Would be nice if he showed some sort of acknowledgement to the crowd before being the first to trot off the pitch & down the tunnel - every single game. He was decent enough last season but shown himself to be completely past it now. Too slow, one dimensional & largely disinterested. His introduction also forces a change to our style of play so we become a poor version of Wimbledon in the late 80s.
  9. Big short term jolt to our stability at senior level but ultimately maybe better in the long term to have someone in charge who is more interested in football than cricket.
  10. Pring needs to start next game. He made a difference today & has so much more desire to affect the game than Dasilva. I’d swap Sykes out aswell - neither him or Dasilva ever have any interest in beating their man. Considering both are meant to be wing backs & therefore two of our attacking outlets then it is no surprise we struggle to create anything.
  11. Do they have an official car park that you pay for as I don’t want to risk a clamp?! Cheers
  12. Haven’t been to Reading for a few years - am looking for advice on what the best option is for parking a car? Thanks
  13. Interesting that the Red Button stream on Virgin already has the commentary of another game on it. The Red Button product truly is an absolute joke seeing as it forms part of a premium sports package.
  14. Playing a wing back system where neither wing back can cross the ball is doomed. Dasilva is a complete and utter waste of a shirt at the moment - atleast Sykes offers something until he has to deliver the final ball. Surely Pring deserves his chance now.
  15. Actually ‘an extra man’ is a really interesting way of putting it. I really think it’s reasonable to suggest that if the atmosphere is crackling & the players are feeding off of it then it can be the equivalent of having an extra man on the pitch. We’ve seen it many times before at Ashton Gate & other stadiums across the country that the home crowd can become ‘the 12th man’ leading to the saying of ‘home advantage’. Think back to the Man Utd game as an example - do you not think that in effect we were the 12th man that night? Plus there are the psychological impacts that a partisan home crowd can have on refereeing decisions - but that’s a different topic altogether!
  16. Why is there this hang up about songs having to be original? Do you think the players really care if the song has been used somewhere else before? They just want to feel loved & confident in their surroundings. Any decent chant is better than no chant in my view - original or not.
  17. Absolutely - I guess it’s supposed to be ironic but why wouldn’t we just sing ‘I can drive a tractor’ like our Welsh friends do?
  18. That’s my point - as men on the street I don’t think we actually understand the impact well enough. However, every player & manager I have ever heard talk about it says positive vocal support makes a massive difference to both confidence & mentality.
  19. After many years of sitting in the Dolman as my kids grew up myself & my lad have moved into S24 this season. I was an Eastender back in the 80s & 90s & have always enjoyed getting behind the team with proper vocal support. Dooby dooby doo & all that! After a few home games in our new seats I would like to offer my thoughts on what I have now seen more close up than in recent years (other than away games which have a different vibe anyway). I think the first thing I would like to point out is that the Section 82 support is generally very good & without it Ashton Gate really would be a library. The support at the first couple home games (including Luton) was first class & shows the potential. I am therefore not meaning to be critical but hopefully be seen as a fresh pair of eyes & ears. The main thing I would like to say is I feel that the power of individual player songs is massively undervalued in terms of the impact they can have on a players confidence & motivation on the pitch - I don’t think it’s unrealistic to say that a good crowd can raise performance levels by over 10%. Now to the crux of what I want to say. I think our individual player songs need some work on. It really struck me last night when our two goal match winning hero didn’t get to hear his name being sung out. He’s been in the press today saying how much he loves the sound of the crowd - can you imagine the impact if we were all actually singing his name aswell? ‘Oh Robert Atkinson, City loves you more than you will know, ohhhhhhh!’ Ofcourse some of the players already have some great songs - Bentley, Dasilva, Semenyo, Wells, Conway, Martin & possibly King. Weimann’s is an interesting one - it’s a bit drab. We sing it a bit when he scores but not really at any other time. His confidence must be a bit down right now - I’m sure he would get such a boost from hearing his song being sung. I do think we sing the Dasilva song too often & for no real reason other than it’s a great tune & everyone knows the words. We’ve even sung it just after another player has done something really great - who must be left thinking ‘what do I need to do to get a song out of this lot?’. Not exactly motivating I suspect. I have also found the timing of the singing of the Chris Martin song whilst he has been sat on the bench the last couple games a bit odd. What does that achieve? Other than possibly leaving the strikers on the pitch wondering why we are singing it? Great song though once everyone knows the words. I guess what I’m saying is the likes of O’Leary, Atkinson, Klose, Naismith, Vyner, Sykes, Wilson, Tanner, James & Williams would all potentially benefit hugely from having their own songs. Can you imagine the team performance level if another 4 or 5 players suddenly found another 10%? They don’t even have to be original top of the world tunes like Scott’s, Dasilva & Martin’s but surely something has to be better than nothing? Off the top of my head & I admit these are all pretty lame…….! Kai Naismith to the Rhythm Is A Dancer tune that I have seen on here before… Max O’Leary du du du du Max O’Leary… Sykesy, there’s only one Sykesy, there’s only one Sykesy, there’s only one Sykesy…. Oh Joey, Joey, Joey, Joey, Joey Joey Williams Oh Joey Joey… To be honest as long as the songs are catchy and everyone knows the words then I don’t think it really matters. What does matter is the impact it would potentially have on performance levels. If nothing else please let’s try & get an Atkinson chant going on Saturday. He has improved massively, is delivering the goods with MOM performances & could become a cult hero. Sorry if I have bored you all but I feel better for getting that off my chest. I would be happy to get myself into Section 82 & push this on if I could get a ticket for there. For now S24 seems the next best alternative though. Hopefully we will see a good performance on Saturday & another 3 points which will see our league position to be a lot healthier than a week ago!
  20. Yeah that’s a fair comment actually. He is certainly the best option we have by a country mile & badly missed today.
  21. We are going to find out how ‘close knit’ this squad really is now because the confidence is only heading one way at the moment & we still look woefully short of leadership on the pitch with Naismith missing.
  22. Set pieces in general - we are utterly abysmal at taking them, giving them away & defending them. If we can’t get these 3 most basic parts of our gameplay right then we are nothing more than lame sitting ducks most weeks. Utterly embarrassing & very worrying performance this afternoon. Feel for the 2k fans who have wasted their time & money travelling up to watch that rubbish.
  23. Am I right in saying that as they were already in general sale anyone could log in & buy as many as they wanted today?
  24. The red button has to be a breach of contract surely? It’s total incompetence
