  1. Build the stands and they will come...unless * The Rugby is on * It is raining * It is too hot * Babestation is on * Lidl are doing 10% 0ff * 3pm Saturday KO, interferes with family life * Not 3pm Saturday, we want the traditional time Or could it be they haven't got much of a support base
  2. Spotted at Bristol airport, tossing a kilt in a bin and sipping on a can of Thatcher's Gold.
  3. Leads Aberdeen to the Cup Semi Finals and then resigns immediately after the match. Has Lansdown been on the phone?
  4. If Manning says not, I'd expect him to be pronounced dead in the morning.
  5. Dear Nigel Yes me again, so sorry. Just wanted to update you in case you weren't watching on Sky. We are now on a run of four straight defeats heading into the match against Swansea at the weekend. We also have a mounting injury list, turns out the injuries weren't your fault after all! Could I ask a big favour, could you send Liam some coaching plans on how to set a team up to defend? I promise I won't let him take the credit when we stop conceding goals every single match. Love Jon
  6. The managerial change has been an unmitigated disaster. We are not more of an attacking threat than we were under Pearson, but defensively we are nowhere near as strong. Of course we'll never know, but I believe we would have been sniffing around the play offs under Pearson, instead we are scratching around for the points needed to stay up.
  7. You can now purchase a Plymouth ticket if you've seen City at any time since 1990!
  8. City to win 2-0, Wells and Cornick....and no I haven't been drinking, although I might need to start shortly after kick off
  9. City are the ones moving forward, Cardiff are running away. That also works when you see film of confrontations between English and Italians
  10. There is too much football as it is. It would make sense for England and Scotland to stop the League Cup and just play league, FA Cup and European matches. Pre season friendlies between English and Scottish clubs would be good. They would also be more competitive than a lot of friendlies.
  11. Brilliant, love it. I guess in the States they all have giant 4x4 pickups to get to games.
  12. Just imagine...actually don't
  13. I really hope whoever is appointed is given money to spend. No manager worth their salt is going to come without a budget. Plus we most strengthen in attack.
  14. Just a thought, if Chris Wilder leaves Sheff Utd at the end of the season, he could be a good fit as boss.
  15. So after the Ipswich game then?
  16. This is an almost unique (or at least very rare) situation where a popular manager has been removed and replaced by a guy with no experience at all managing a team at this or an equivalent level. In that situation, results need to be at least as good as the previous manager. We performed well to get through one cup round, and we took a scalp of Southampton, aside from that it has been pretty poor results and undeniably a downturn on Pearson's results and performances despite having a stronger squad available to him.
  17. Trying to be positive and imaging we get the points needed to preserve our Championship status, kicking off 24-25 who would you like as Manager? Which players should leave? Who should stay? Where should we strengthen? For me - Manager - ideally Nigel Pearson, knowing that won't happen I'd like an established 'manager' someone who knows the division and has had success in the Championship. Leaving - Cornick (plenty of effort but not quite good enough), Wells (seen better days), King (happy to keep him as a coach), Weimann (seen better days), Naismith (seen better days, injury prone), Mehmeti (League one standard player), Staying - all the rest, some talented players Vyner, O Leary, Dickie, Conway, Sykes, Pring and Knight are all stand outs New Signings - 2 forwards minimum. We also need a creative midfield player and another versatile defender.
  18. We need to scrap and fight for every point now. We just have to get over the line however we do it. Nigel must have a wry smile.
  19. Dear Nigel Sorry to write again so soon, just wanted to update my letter - Three of the worse teams in the division have now beaten us, the manager is throwing players under the bus and the players are fighting among themselves....please, please come back. Love Jon
  20. I was a huge fan of Nigel Pearson and was gutted/furious when he left. I've also been very unimpressed with Manning thus far (FA Cup matches aside). However, I think Cardiff City are the idea opponents for us at the moment. A derby game, in front of a big crowd, I'm going to stick my neck out and predict a 3-0 City victory. I've not felt optimistic going into any game under Manning, so I don't know where this feeling comes from...but I like it. COYR
  21. Wednesday were extremely poor today, but beat us with 10 men...worrying.
  22. Dear Nigel I made the mistake of thinking I knew something about football. I replaced an experienced and successful manager with a guy that had never managed above League One and had led MK Dons to the bottom 4. I then told the fans to expect the top six. Two of the worse three teams in the division have just comfortably beaten us and our league record is worse under him than you, despite the fact that you could barely name a team due to injuries. Please come back and save the season Love Jon P.S thanks for getting us the points early doors which mean we are not in a relegation battle now.

    EFL Trophy

They do, but physically they cannot compete. They get bullied by bigger stronger teams. Never mind the final, they don't even make the semi finals. Something similar in Scotland, and even Rangers and Celtic U-21s with all their resources don't get to the semi or final when competing with largely part time lower division Scottish teams that have too much physicality.

Thank goodness two teams from the same geographical area couldn't play in the final when we used to be a lower level team. Imagine getting to Wembley and having to play the Gas. We'd only be allocated 10,000 tickets as they have a track record of taking 70,000+ to Wembley for finals.
