I was only 3 at the time, but remember all of the players bar G.Palmer, S.Mills, and P.Fletcher. Any insight on them, did they drift into lower league football?
Same with this (I was 1)…who was D.Jeffries?
I am presuming Geoff Palmer from Wolves and Paul Fletcher from Burnley. S Mills was Steve Mills from Southampton who sadly died in a car accident in his 20s

What about this line up
O’Leary
Vyner. Klose. Atkinson
JD. Scott. James. Pring
Weimann
Conway Wells

He was previously one of the better Prem referees before he resigned a few years back. Now working his way back up the leagues.

Lived in Coventry as a child and I remember being at a game when they tried it again. I am sure it was against Tottenham with Pat Jennings in goal and this time it hit the bar. After that it was banned as it was considered a flick and not a kick.

Nige suggested he would not be making many changes from the team that started against Sunderland. Not expecting Joe Williams to start. Possibly see Kane Wilson start instead of Sykes.

If Coventry can’t fulfil the fixture would we get a bye to the next round?

I hope these rules are applied consistently by all the referees. I hope referees that continue to give fouls for the slightest contact ( E.g. Oliver Langford) are told by the assessors and made to change. In reality I am not expecting this to happen and the fussy, poor refereeing we see most weeks will continue.

It could depend on who we can recruit to replace Cundy as squad player and also if Kalas goes. If there is no-one out there who is a better affordable option than Moore/Vyner then I would keep one or both for one more season and let contract run down.

Agree on Massengo for Williams. Also wouldn’t be surprised to see Conway start instead of Martin or Semenyo. Would also like to see one of the young defenders starting, possibly Idehen

Did he complete a single cross today - seemed to want to play everything along the floor which was then intercepted?
He’s young and will have poor games, but today show’s he’s nowhere near the price bracket fans are quoting or PL standard- a move would just need another championship loan.
Scott’s best games were during the time James was injured. I feel that James stifles Scott. Our best recent performances were when we had Scott and Massengo as our central midfield.

It annoys me he takes all the set pieces when Scott’s delivery is much better

Mann v Shilton, , he always says the best goal he's ever conceded .
Curle v Newport, 3/4 the length of the pitch, similar to.......
Scotties v Oldham (?)
I was there for Keith Curle’s goal vs Newport. Brought the ball out of defence like an early version of Webster and just kept going. I am sure that Pulis was in the Newport team

We will end up having to let him go on a free and supplement the shortfall in his wages until his contract ends. No one is going to offer any near £20k p.w.

Couldn't you get round the time wasting aspect by not allowing any tactical substitutions after the 90th minute?
Beat me to it

I would have liked a rule that prevents any subs after 90 mins, injury or tactical. Would prevent the annoying time-wasting multiple subs with a minute to go.
-
Assuming none of the injured players are fit to return my team would be: -
Bentley
Tanner. Kalas. Atkinson. Pring
Scott James. King Palmer
Weimann
Martin

I reckon it’s a 4-4-1-1. With Baker at LB
