  1. Bit picky...thanks for the report SHood, well written.
  2. OK result, keeps the unbeaten run going, and we didn't concede late on...positives.
  3. Well at least he will be on the same team.
  4. Destroyed? I don't think so, not many is any teams will destroy us, we have tightened up at the back a lot. Just need to put away the chances and we can beat most in League 1, I should bl00dy hope so anyway.
  5. I just knew we would concede, but could have been worse I suppose.
  6. A bit harsh Glyn, hasn't he and H suffered enough? Personally if I lived in the Dugout I think I might give that a miss
  7. Agree 100% crazy sacking SOD when they did, but of course it was decided he was a gonner before Orient, SC was already lined up, what if we had beat the O's well? There was no thought about the way the squad should be playing at all by the Board, hardly surprising as the 'kid' is clueless about all things football. I thought from all the claptrap regarding 5 pillars blah blah we or they had a plan, and were going to stick with it. That was the Mantra that was chanted by Jon L at every oppurtunity. That sacking will go down in the club history as the biggest mistake ever made, I ha
  8. The points we were picking up from his last six games were telling a different story. The performance against Orient was proof of that and we had two league wins and two draws. So there were good signs, all to be expected really as SOD was getting to grips with his philosophy, but the Board had a trigger finger, which as for the timing was a huge mistake. But the most frustrating thing in all this we have had too many changes of coaches / managers, and that will be our downfall, mark my words..
  9. It was improving, I was so disappointed when the Board lost their bottle, but we are where we are, no good looking back, but we were gelling.
  10. Perhaps , and again the fear factor crept in, we have to stop worrying about these teams, and start getting some belief in what we can do, this is the trick in management, something that good managers do, hope SC is up to it. However that formation we played last week was probably not the best test for the system with it being Tamworth, but the idea that Elliot does what he does in breaking up play and protecting the back four is so important, it never looks nice on the eye and he gets stick on here for doing it. Certainly we cannot play pretty tippy tap football, what we do need
  11. Reckon we need to start blooding more of the kids, get rid of the couldn't give a toss attitude and put some real heart in the squad, OK we probably will go down, but it will pay off in the long run, otherwise we will lose them anyway, we have done it before in the lower /lower leagues, and under Cotterill this might be the answer, after all he has a 3.5 year deal.
  12. Your right it was David Steele, is he still alive? If so I like his confidence, get him in.
  13. It's disappointing that in training that SC could not see the benefit in starting Reid, if he has an ambition to press teams then Ried had to start. As said we lost it in the first half.
  14. Agree we have to stick with him, after all we don't have much choice do we? But I an fearing the worst, I am already resigned to relegation, the financial penalty for relegation to the bottom flight is minimal, and tbh I don't think the owners cares a lot either way, however I do really believe that at least one Steve cares and that's not the owner.
  15. Five points from safety we are deep in the brown stuff , never thought I would want us to be in League 1, but that would be a real bonus at the moment. Hope Cotts can get us some points to avoid the drop, but looking at the way the whole club is being mis-managed can I suggest, to borrow a quote from Maggie, that we go back to our homes and prepare for League 2.
  16. So true, it is very tedious, I have not for one minute ever bought into this Mandela love in. Sure Apartheid was Evil, but the problems in SA and other African countries are so deep seated that this whole Mandela thing seems to excuse others of actually doing anything.
