Superb win.
In the second half they were much better until our goal (really lucky with that gift to Vardy ), then we did well to protect the advantage and had some good moments upfront too. In the first half we were the better team, so overall a deserved result.
Watching the game on DAZN Italy.
In the reverse fixture we did a good defensive job and they needed a penalty to win; honestly I expect a much harder game today, but...COYR!
Tidy for 30 minutes or so, then we gave away the ball stupidly too many times; midfield's passing was not bad, a few sparks going forward, decent overall.
Cornick our best player so far, McCrorie not enough concentrated, Williams too nervous.
Optimistic answer: inconsistency.
Pessimistic answer: Saints, West Ham & co. having a bad day allowed us to perform better than our poor standard.
Then the tactical aspects (see Scrumpys message) are also to be considered.
Not surprising but still disappointing. We can appear strong in some matches but the squad has too many weak points to challenge for a playoff spot.
With less iniuries in some moments of the season and a tactical plan B for some games, who knows...
In the second half we grew a lot on the attacking side of play, without losing shape in midfield and defence. Dickie's goal killed their confidence and our pressure made it difficult for them to regain control : shame about the penalty, but it didn't affect the result so no problem.
One of the best aspects? The performance of the reserves (Roberts + the subs).
