  1. Unbelievably young team on the pitch at the moment! Benarous not been on the game that much but his touch is superb, could have a real player on our hands here
  2. Against us for Villa as well as for us I believe
  3. To keep everyone entertained during tonight's procession....how many of the current England squad have we played against?
  4. Because he then gets the Mark Ashton treatment on here......
  5. At this moment in time that "problem" would be nice to have! At the moment Lansdown can't know which way to turn, he won't be able to or probably doesn't even want "sack" Pearson but can't let this drift on and on...who knows when NP will be back and even if it is within the next month this situation may well happen again this season. One option would be Colin till end of the season but given we wouldn't have a long term commitment with him are the players really going to buy into his way of management (given there performances to date I doubt Pep could get them going), also who signs the players in January? What if NP / NW can't agree on the recruitment process, who does SL back? The other option would be to bring in Shakespeare as his trusted right hand man until NP is back but if we go down it's another compensation we need to pay. Absolute fucksmuddle of a situation that from where I'm sat is likely to end up in some kind of legal dispute, my gut feel is the club is hoping NP makes the decision for them but time will be running out in a week or so. I would imagine there are all kinds of conversations going on at the moment behind the scenes about which way to go hence RG's holding interview tonight.
  6. Exactly, morally and legally making a change now is very difficult with the ongoing illness issue. Temporary manager until the end of the season (Warnock) would be the happy medium for all concerned but is also a recipe for disaster.
  7. I'm at the same point as during the Millen, McInnes and O'Driscoll years, completely apathetic to it now
  8. He's the biggest loss I reckon, he was the player that LJ couldn't recover from losing. We were still around the top 6 just before Covid happened and JB left and look at us now
  9. I like the optimism but Kelly was far more comfortable at Championship level at a younger age than Towler. I hope RT makes it here long term but the comparison is miles off.
  10. Think next weekend is massive now to be honest, in fact it is must win (and win well). We are still a way off the Pearson out nonsense that is starting to be spouted but the mood around the place needs a lift after the last three games especially after the crazy 60 seconds against Forest and performances have dropped off since the international break where it looked like we were really heading in the right direction again.
  11. Hopefully means we will see someone able to take a free kick coming through from the academy in the next few years.
  12. If here are talks ongoing then he's surely off?
  13. It's coming tomorrow night, I'm sure of it!!
  14. What place are they walking around?
  15. WHere would we need to finish in the league for our U21 side to be eligible for this competition next season? Surely that would be the final nail in the coffin of the "rivalry" if our U21's beat their senior side?
  16. Villa 5-0 on new years day the same season as the League Cup win over Man U, the decline was starting tonset in at that point
  17. Goodfellow last minute winner from Tinnions Cross IIRC? Too young for the infamous Coventry game but can remember winning 3-0 up there in the POseason under GJ and a cup win the season before.
  18. He may struggle for another contract elsewhere, with the financial climate most of the football league is in why would anyone take a chance on someone who has played less than 100 games in the last 5 or 6 years?
  19. Agree especially when we're playing a 3 man midfield. Bakinson is a "moments" player as in he has brilliant ones and shocking ones with not having lot in between. You just have to hope the brilliant ones turn into goals and we get away with the shockers....tonight is not that night.
  20. Not on the original teamsters, did one of the subs get injured in the warmup?
  21. Williams and James look a top Championship combination in midfield.
