Afraid I have to agree. I've been a supporter since school days, over 60 years, and probably always will be, but I am drained of all optimism now and can't see that changing unless and until this lot bugger off. They've become a liability and a complete and utter bloody nightmare.

Just in case it's useful for anyone else to know, somewhat to my surprise (based on previous experience), I did actually get a fairly prompt response to an email to Supporter Services (fair play to them), with the advice to turn automatic updates in Wallet off and on again. It worked, in line with what I think some others also suggested above. Problem solved - although it does sound very much like it would probably have just worked, anyway. Thanks to all the tech-savvy members who offered advice. Cheers.

And that's the big worry, isn't it? Fail to exercise proper governance over the club and to install suitably qualified people to run it. Get in an almighty mess through sheer negligence, in both football and financial terms, especially in regard to player recruitment. Sack the manager, fail to acknowledge any responsibility for having caused the situation in the first place, bring in a new man (or a succession of new men) to sort out the self-inflicted shambles. Eventually get the situation stabilised, usually necessitating the sale of your best players, and having wasted several years in stagnation in the process, at least in football terms. Then dispense with the guys who got you out of the hole you dug yourself into and start all over, usually with a young, so-called, up-and-coming coach (you hope) instead of someone of experience. Rinse and repeat. No wonder fans despair after two decades of watching this pattern repeat itself. Three wins on the trot don't disguise the accumulated evidence of the last twenty years.

Routinely check mine on the morning of a game, as a precaution. Always been OK up to now, but this time it has not updated to today's fixture v Millwall and is still showing Hull 22 December. Nothing on the app to allow you to initiate an update, as far as I can see (iPhone). Anyone else have this problem, or any advice on how to resolve? Thanks.

If missing the point was an Olympic event, you’d have more gold medals than Usain Bolt. In over six decades of following this club, I have only once seen a consensus and a strength of feeling to surpass what’s happened in recent weeks, and that was when BCFC almost ceased to exist in the early eighties. If you don’t understand the reaction, you must be tone deaf and have seriously misread the situation. I respectfully suggest you take another, carefully considered look and think it through again.

It’s confirmation, if any were needed, of the almost universal OTIB view that NP’s sacking was motivated by personal animosity and had little to do with the spurious, transparent and, frankly, pathetic football related excuses offered at the time. It’s pure spite and suggests the level of emotional maturity of the persons responsible is that of a toddler. When you see even posters who are not easily given to overstatement using language like “contempt” you know that the relationship between ownership and fans has deteriorated to an all time low from which it can never recover, regardless of what happens on the pitch. I’ve said before that, like quite a few others, I staunchly defended SL in the past against what I saw at the time as unfair criticism and ingratitude, but I have come to despise this regime. There is a complete and utter lack of professionalism in evidence that honestly makes me fear for the future of the club.

I was going to add that to my previous comment but decided I'd be wasting my time... You are right, though. Joe at his best, all action, energetic, aggressive, ball-winning, etc. James, deep lying, measured, steady, calm, anchoring the midfield. Very little similarity.

There are always a few eager to write James off. It's been that way for ages. It's wearying. What are people watching? I and others have said many times that you sometimes don't notice him that much when he's playing, but you bloody well notice when he isn't. Still under-appreciated after his time with the club, and still a very, very good player. There are games (though not many) when you could dispense with him, but there are many more when, frankly, you'd be screwed without him. Experience, leadership, composure, reading the game, retaining possession... The old cliche applies: be careful what you wish for.

It's one of the areas of the team where we've done quite well in terms of recruitment. Central defenders who are comfortable on the ball, can bring it out of defence and pick a pass are are big asset. Both Atkinson and Naysmith are good, but Dickie is by some distance the best since Webster and really not far at all below Adam in ability, judging from what we've seen up to now. Player of the season so far for me, without a shadow of doubt. If he maintains this form he will attract offers and based on the experience of recent seasons it will surprise nobody if we cash in. Enjoy him while you can: the ownership is probably already speculating as to how much they can add to the nest egg. Selling your best players - it's what we do.

As good as I’ve heard from a current player’s perspective. Naismith in particular is articulate and intelligent and quite frank about offering constructive criticism. Refreshing.

Just catching up with this news from last night. It evokes a conflicting response. Clearly absolutely appalling on one level, but there’s also a certain sense of inevitability about it, too, like it was bound to happen sometime, somewhere, eventually. A line has been crossed. Have to give credit to the Turkish football authorities, in as much as the immediate suspension of all fixtures seems to me to be proportionate. It leaves nobody in any doubt about the enormity of what’s taken place. I would have thought, for starters, a total life ban for the individual who threw the punch from any involvement of any kind in the game. The same would have to apply to anyone else who physically attacked the referee. What thereafter? Sanctions against the club? Hard to see how that can be avoided, although it’s always tough when innocent parties suffer for the inexplicable actions of one complete idiot. Maybe something constructive can emerge from it when the shock subsides, especially if the implications are debated beyond the confines of Turkey’s domestic game. A wide ranging review of refereeing standards, player behaviour towards referees, referee welfare, and how the promote a culture of greater respect and discipline would be timely. This could and arguably should be a big moment in the evolution of the sport in Europe, if it shines a light on issues that need addressing across all levels of the game.

That may, however, say more about me than it does about the technology! I'll probably use one of my devices to watch tonight, but will have another go at this on a future occasion to see if I can crack it. (It may, as you say, be a compatibility issue that I can do nothing about.) OK, well, thanks for that. I can certainly believe your first statement: no change there, then. (Is it just the usual sloppy, badly presented info, do you think, or are they actively trying to discourage us from watching content in this way? Not that I can think of anything they'd have to gain from the latter.) I'd really appreciate a bit more detail on how you've done it, though, if you can spare the time and can bear to spell it out. It sounds simple, the way you've described it, but to the technologically challenged it's not entirely obvious. Are you saying you have logged into your personal Google account, navigated to the BCFC website from there by just entering the address in the search box, and then signed into BCFC/RTV with your account details? And it then just works as normal? I'm pretty sure there's a fair few people would be interested, as I haven't seen anybody else say on OTIB that they've watched RTV on a smart tv by any method other than a HDMI cable from a PC or laptop to the television. (I do take the point about some televisions not being compatible, by the way, but mine is a fairly recent, relatively hi-spec Sony model and I would have expected it to be capable of what you're describing.)

With respect, I think this is probably not correct. You can use your Smart TV’s web browser (assuming it has one) to bring up the BCFC website and you may even be able to log in to your account, but I don’t think you can play content. If you look on the relevant Robins TV page, you’ll find that it states explicitly that it will not work on Smart TVs. The only way to watch RTV on your main TV that I’ve found to work is as advised by others elsewhere on this thread, by connecting your device to the television via HDMI cable. I’ am no IT expert and am happy to stand corrected if I’m wrong, but I’ve tried in various ways to get around this, sometimes with the help of a friend who actually is an IT professional, and the outcome has always been the same. No can do. if that’s changed recently and someone can explain in plain English how it’s done, I and I’m sure many others would be very interested to hear about it.

I just signed in to Robins TV to purchase a pass to watch tonight’s coverage, a procedure I’ve followed countless times that usually takes me about two minutes, to be presented with a different screen layout to the one I’m accustomed to seeing and no way I can navigate my way to the usual page where you select the relevant “package” and pay by card. It’s some weeks since I last did this. Has something changed that I’ve been unaware of, or is there some issue that others are also encountering? Any advice would be very welcome, thanks. To save anyone the trouble of replying to the above, whatever glitch I was coming up against has now cleared itself. If anyone else has the same problem, for what it's worth, I signed out, restarted my PC, logged in again and it functioned normally. Who knows?

I would, every time. Quiet, great for walking, pubs aren’t crowded and are glad to have your custom, locals aren’t peed off with mass tourism and have time to be friendly. You have to be bloody mad to want to go in peak season, unless you have a young family, are tied to school holidays and don’t have a choice.

I had long been an El Tel fan and it's really good to see his qualities being so widely recognised, not just here but right across national media as well. I was always a big admirer and I never quite forgave the FA for ditching him, but it wasn't something you'd often hear talked about in the pub when England football was being discussed, or see mentioned in online forums, so I thought maybe mine was a minority opinion. Evidently not. I just found him so astute about the game. Even when he was just doing TV punditry, his insights into what was going on out on the pitch always seemed a bit more incisive than anyone else's, and expressed clearly and simply without a lot of excessive techno-babble. I firmly believe the story of the senior national side post '96 would have been quite different if he'd been kept on, as he should have been. Lovely, fun, likeable, engaging bloke, too. I'm genuinely sad about his passing and it's clear a lot of people connected to the game feel the same - Lineker, Shearer and many, many others. Big loss.
