All good thanks Tone, I have a very mild cold. My partner is high risk so was more of a concern but she is fine!

It’s quite interesting seeing Wells’ reaction to Taylor Moore’s slice in the last second of the game!

How are we going to play this? Have a swing for 8-10 overs and declare? It’s a massive day today. Getting Cook out early is so key for morale as he could quite comfortably bat all day!

New ball will be our last chance.
Two very quick wickets and Cook finally gone!

New ball has done us.
We've won today's play and I think we would've taken a score of 301 yesterday. It's a shame we've had a poor session this evening but we should be confident that we can get a first innings lead with our bowling attack.

Well played Eddie.
Hopefully we can plough on in this session. It looks like there could be some difficult batting conditions this evening and tomorrow.
An interesting stat that I heard this morning was that Somerset have had 6 centurions (now 7?) in the Bob Willis Trophy this season compared with Essex's 1. Our bowling attack has been fantastic but our batsman certainly deserve some credit.

Fantastic result. What is the betting we finally win the Championship in the year it doesn't count!

This really is an inspiring thread. I open it up, put my trainers on but then get distracted by the Hughton/Gerrard threads and take them off again.
I went a bit mad early in lockdown and believe I injured one of the bands the run up the side of the leg. I'm able to run a couple of 5ks are week now so slowly getting there without aggravating it too much!

@Shtanley please can you get a ‘Johnson Out’ when you’re next on air? Get yourself banned from Robins TV for good.

We are not your rivals.
Just because we took Kodjia off you doesn't mean there is a rivalry, other than in your bitter heads.
You just worry your pretty heads over Bristol Rovers and Bath City and leave the big boys to contest big boy rivalries.
Haha, what are you on doing on little Bristol City’s forum? We’re not even in the same division as you?!

This topic has produced various reactions not just amongst us, but may "Expert analysis" pundits.
One stated on Sky Sports that if the season was abandoned with final placings being each club's current position, the league & FA would be inundated with lawsuits for "Loss of potential earnings" etc.
My opinion (and it's no better or worse than anyone else's) is
1; as the league is currently suspended, wit until the end of April. If no resumption possible by then, either write off the season, or the current standings are regarded as the final positions.
2; Resume the season when possible and delay 2020/21. To resume normality,, that season may have to be shortened, so (and only for that season), scrap the League Cup and Checkatrade Trophy.
3; with this long lay off, players are currently resting. They are (theoretically) keeping themselves fit at home, so it's only match sharpness that's diminishing. Therefore we won't need such a long break between this & next season.
It's a bit of legal and commercial mess. The current standing cannot be taken as final positions because, in the Premier League at least, teams have played a different number of games. If Villa win their game in hand, they'd move out of the relegation zone. Teams have some fixtures remaining which may be considered 'easier' and have played the top four twice already. It would be very inequitable if let the current standing stick.
The second option is more realistic but player contracts and commercial deals make it more complicated as a lot of the deals will expire at the end of June. Scrapping the cup competitions will be sensible in my view as we'll probably start next season later than planned in any case.
I think we'll end up in a position where this season is written off and team records are erased from the history books.

Me trying to make small talk when there’s no football or sport on:

Christ I'm bored of working from home; I feel like I've listened to every song on Apple Music. I wouldn't be surprised if I was listening to the old Bleep Test CD by Wednesday next week.

This may sound like something someone does when they're fishing for likes on Facebook but if there's anyone in South West London that needs a hand please let me know. I live in SW12, have a car and I'm very fortunate with my health and job security. I know there's a lot of people in vulnerable positions at the moment so I would like to help where I can.

Glastonbury Festival has confirmed its cancellation. Tickets have been rolled forward to next year which is a bit annoying given I missed out!
-
I've just had an email from Sky saying they're going to increase my subscription by £5 a month. It's pretty poor timing given that there is absolutely nothing on TV at the moment aside from Coronavirus news coverage!

If the season finishes today we're 7th meaning we've continued our progress for the 6th season in a row. Based on this statistic, I've put the bedsheet away for another season.

OSIB podcast.

Is this @Lez again? The apparent scholar who went to Magdalen College and continued to misspell its name on a number posts. He also slated everyone on @headhunter's podcast, only to appear on it and sounded a little doltish.
For what it's worth, I enjoy OSIB and listen most weeks. A balance between humour and debate is important, particularly at the moment with the performances on the pitch being woeful.
