  1. Maybe also a consideration that as he isn’t our “asset” playing him in an u23 game where he could get injured might be vetoed by the parent club?
  2. I often wonder how, and why, we allow our sport to be run by people so short sighted, clearly corrupt (morally and monetarily) and utterly clueless. To not consult 72 clubs (plus I would imagine all the non league +400?) in this decision just speaks volumes. Forget about community clubs, the glamour of the cup, we want to watch spurs play Madrid in July in Sydney at 8am for the Audi A1 cup… that’s better for everyone… or for some ££. The “big” clubs need the pyramid, they are just too greedy and dense to understand it. I kinda want to see it all implode, just purely so that these leeches leave the sport, and go ruin something else (like a mock Tudor mansion in Essex). So many of these people are also failed businesspeople - Stavely going bankrupt today a great example. Idiotic decision with no rationale at all, and that is why the “small” clubs were not involved. love the sport, HATE the business
  3. Not what he said on his interview post injury, he said he can play anywhere but ideally wants to be CB - interesting comment
  4. Mccrorie stating himself he is a centre back is still the bit that makes me wonder what we have signed him to do. Round pegs in round holes etc…
  5. Do not underestimate the importance of Twine. Not necessarily his end product, but the fact he is a natural “between the lines” player. It pulls the opposition defence into areas they don’t want to go, whether he capitalises or not, it’s the question he poses that makes a big difference. Essentially we are less predictable, and harder for teams to do a “millwall/Cardiff” on us. Whether he stays or we go elsewhere- imperative we sign a player who does this.
  6. Birmingham, Reading, Doncaster then us. Shocked me a bit
  7. Just saw a wow stat on Twitter, only 3 teams in the football league have lost more games than us over the past 5 seasons - no wonder there is apathy and a sigh of relief that we are “safe”. It’s an astounding stat when you consider the basket case clubs in the league currently.
  8. Match day minus 1 - this sort of nonsense can do one. It’s the day before the game. Not directly abusing the blue few here, as I know we will be saying this nonsense as well. Just use real words please
  9. The disappointing thing for me - genuinely, is that the flooding of the site with Bristolsport logins, isn’t that they create a debate, but that they eventually will make the forum meaningless. I guess that is the outcome they want as well, kill the conversation or get everyone arguing with each other = unusable site for real fans. if it is true - and I’ve been told it is, that Bristolsport employees are doing this, it’s pretty shameful tbf.
  10. My main concern is when the big bids come in from the US consortiums and Oligarchs, this range of clothing has likely pushed us out of their price range. Negotiating the sale of x 2 football clubs, rugby club, basketball team, ground, training ground, sports complex, and now Onyego - they are going to need deep pockets. And then there is fever pitch, who I can only imagine will look to buy out of their current situation and float themselves, but will they hand over the Onyego rights. It feels oh so very much like Jordan v Nike. Or Bas savage v Matalan.
  11. Funny how the true highlight of trundles career, objectively, was under Gary Johnson. I actually thought he got better second half of his first season, started playing as part of a team, which makes it a shame he mentally checked out on us.
  12. How many wins would manning need between now and the end of the season, with city playing well, to give him time and good grace with the fans? And then offset that against the likelihood of it happening. This crude formula tells me there is no chance he turns it around before the start of next season, at which point the toxicity will be off the scale. Worrying times
  13. Just a mess wasn’t it. Anyone thinking we have defined roles, a way of working, and are in any way “ahead” of little old Luton/Ipswich/ANother is kidding themselves. too many low lights to mention one particularly, but that was not the sound of a confident person who knows they will be successful. Which is in no way a surprise! Nailed on to flirt with relegation before we get near the top 6.
  14. Our best performances under manning have all come from games in which motivating the players was a formality, cup games live on tv, under the lights on tv v top sides in the league (barring Leeds who outclassed us). That makes my mind up that those results were not down to “time on the grass” at the HPC, or clever tactics, but our most talented players taking ownership and making things happen. Manning, seemingly, cannot demand/get this from them via his leadership style - makes me believe he is out of his depth.
  15. When did sky become saints tv? Bizarrely one sided coverage, apparently we can do the unthinkable and bet the invincibles, who lost 4? In a row earlier in the season.
  16. Huge shame, let’s hope he gets a full proper preseason
  17. I know he is not in the thread name, so apologies, but is there any update on Benarous at all?
  18. Good enough is subjective, and each manager at each club in the country will have differing views on the same player, so not sure if you are right or wrong tbh! But ultimately and more importantly it isn’t an attitude issue. Let’s hope he forces his way back, I agree he looks like he has the talent and time in his side.
  19. Yeboah doesn’t have attitude issues above and beyond those of any other young pro footballer. I have been reliably informed he was just not up to the level LM demands in training, and so has moved back down to the 18’s. However Nelson has shown up in training and is keeping his place training with the seniors. Not all players paths are straightforward- and LM clearly has expectations all players have to meet. No idea if it’s the right way to do things, but he isn’t a “bad egg”.
  20. Exactly the “type” we need, now over to him to make it happen. Good signing, logical and will ask questions of the opposition in ways none of our other attackers can/do.
  21. Was told by someone at the club that the camera angle is not acceptable if we get to the promised land, however it is serious ££ to alter so won’t be done unless we do the unthinkable… personally I don’t like it at all, but I don’t watch us on to too much
  22. Sure this is in the thread somewhere, but we have done quite a bit of business with Burnley over the last few years, is there some wiggle on all the deals that have already happened so that we offset some of the cost “creatively”? That’s the only way I can see us doing deals at this level
  23. Out of interest was it one ticket per member, or could they buy more?
  24. Yeboah back in the 18s full time, not even close to the first team squad as it stands, and apparently very poor in the 18s match. Changing managers can have such an impact on players, both positive and negative, but sounds like his temperament will be tested
