  1. There’s a thread on him started just above…..or below
  2. Great performance and great atmosphere in parts but it was a bit embarrassing when thousands left before half time. There was obviously going to be quite a bit of extra time because of the early technical incident so we had about 8-10 minutes with a sparse crowd. In that time Plymouth were imploding, their keeper let a ball run out of play when it was a corner and then a terrible pass I think it was. Anyway it had the Plymouth fans singing “this is an embarrassment” but our crowd was silent when they should really have been hammering Plymouth and making their players even more uncomfortable.
  3. When I couldn’t get on OTIB all day I thought Tom had finished and pulled the plug and that was that! I must say the thought of no OTIB was a bit scary, I was about to book some counselling then all of a sudden we’re back. Yay.
  4. In all the excitement I forgot to pick up my Leicester ticket last night. Is it like it used to be where they take all uncollected tickets to Leicester and I’ll be able to collect it there?
  5. I’ve had a lot of Plymouth fans giving their opinion today, almost feels like being back in Bristol on derby day for me. I’m really looking forward to this and getting a much needed home win. COYR
  6. They've been a bit confusing all round. Pushing the 3000 fans to Preston was a bit of an exaggeration. And their figures if nearly 6000 fir the 2 games don't quite add up. Can't be that difficult to just give the exact figure
  7. Yes it is a bit confusing as they don’t give exact numbers. This was from the official site today. It says nearly 3000 at Preston and just over 3000 tomorrow making NEARLY 6000 https://www.pafc.co.uk/news/bristol-city-schumachers-preview
  8. I’m picking my ticket up tomorrow. I’m presuming it’ll be from the ticket cabin’s as you enter from Winterstoke rd, anyone know?
  9. I wasn’t expecting him to play any part yet. He hasn’t had a proper pre season and although he’s been training hard, on his own through the summer, it’s not going to get you Premier league match ready. And it’s not like the Burnley players are looking for a rest, they’ve only played 3 games. He’ll have to be patient but there’ll be opportunities as the long season gets going
  10. This is why the club should do something to try and free up seats that aren’t going to be used for whatever reason, in the south stand it’s usually because the seats belong to children that rarely go.
  11. Crikey, there always seems to be trouble brewing, certainly in the first division days which ended in disaster. After that felt good with Terry Cooper having about 7 roles but they had no money so few choices to be made. Maybe in Scott Davidson’s early days or Lansdown’s early days. I’ve no real idea just how things felt as a fan looking in from the outside
  12. You’ve just reminded me, Somerset’s CEO has just quit……………..
  13. I’m not gonna lie, It’s not the job interview opening line I was expecting.
  14. The odds are shortening on a club representative inviting @Davefevsout for coffee again very soon.
  15. Really looking forward to this one. Certainly a derby feel for me as a large number of customers where I work are Plymouth and know I'm City. A good team to watch, surely there'll be goals in this one and a big night game following from South Devon. They've given every team they've played a tough game so far, including high flying Preston, where they took 3000 fans on a 10 hour plus round trip. A first home win would taste very sweet.
  16. I was having a walk in the hills just behind Cannes back in June when a security man stopped us walking any further as we were going near the grounds of the Château (de la Croix des Gardes) When we said we’d walked past before no problem he said Thibaud Courtois’ wedding was taking place. Looking at that clip I kinda wish I had stumbled across their honeymoon.
  17. Sorry for your loss @And Its Smith It’s great you’ve got so many lovely cricketing memories of you and your dad and now you and your son are creating the same. I always get sad when it’s the end of the football or cricket season. The cricket season especially, I suppose it’s worse because it’s a long time until we meet again, over 6 months compared to 3 for football. Plus that long 6 1/2 months are winter months. Its even sadder when county cricket is so disjointed nowadays. Instead of long summer’s with regular catch ups at Taunton with cricketing friends, it’s now all or nothing. Too much in April when if it’s like this year isn’t the long days sat in the warm sun that you were hoping for and very little in late July and August. Unlike @And Its Smith my dad had no interest in sport, instead it was my grandad who took me in those heady late 70’s days that got me hooked for life. He’s been gone 40 years now but I have loads of memories of Taunton, W-S-M and Bath. Even back then I can remember thinking that even though being old wouldn’t be that nice, retirement and watching cricket all the time would be fantastic. I would say to him as I was off to school and he was off to cricket to watch Richards, Garner, Marshall, Holding and all the other best players in the world, how lucky he was. Now as my retirement is not many seasons away, that’s pretty much all been stripped away. But it’s still my favourite sport and I’ll still enjoy what we’ve got left and I’ll still remember my grandad shouting “lovely grub” and “run em up” in the autumn of his life, which coincided with the golden days of county cricket and especially Somerset.
  18. The games against Bradford and Walsall would be up there as best performances but you'd have to look at the quality of the opposition
  19. Oh yeah, loved that Fulham game. We were in the open end. Cracking easter game. Loved that tean too.
  20. Harsh on Royle! He’s got the winner against Liverpool in your first game and you’ve binned him off….. Not having Cheesley for more than one and a half top flight games is a burden all us fans of a certain age will always have. What might have been. Although I was a huge fan of Norman Hunter, if I had to pick a team on a certain day it’d have to be the away to Arsenal team.
  21. Oh bugger, I didn’t read it properly I thought it was a late call up for the NZ games. Oh well at least we’re just about safe from relegation. A season that never got going really except in the T20 where we were unbelievably good and a much deserved trophy.
  22. Good news. And as long as England don’t send him back injured, no guarantee, he’ll be available for our next game
  23. You can get split tickets using just off peak day returns instead of Advance savers. ie. Bristol to Cheltenham, Cheltenham to Coleshill Parkway, C P to Leicester. That way you can get any train returning that day, you just maybe won’t get a seat for all the journey.
