Did you know the mystery spaceship used to appear on the 16th shot you fired, the 31st, the 46th, etc, etc. a mis-spent youth on holiday in the south of France!
I was rubbish at it. Probably only ever got to level 2. #KeynshamLeisureCentre

FWIW @Jerseybean according to bbc we had 62% possesion on Saturday.
FWIW2 you mention a chess match, whereas LM tends to use “cat and mouse”. I think of Tom and Jerry when I think “cat and mouse” and that is high speed chases, normally with Tom ending up with a big lump on his head!
Wikipedia gives this explanation:
Cat and mouse, often expressed as cat-and-mouse game, is an English-language idiom that means "a contrived action involving constant pursuit, near captures, and repeated escapes."[1] The "cat" is unable to secure a definitive victory over the "mouse", who, despite not being able to defeat the cat, is able to avoid capture.
Which almost makes it feel like the match is to satisfy LM rather than anyone else.
+++++
But I agree with lots that you say. I think Manning likes structure and order, because he can analyse that. But if you go off the script he finds that hard.
Saturday felt a bit more like Space Invaders to me.

Luckily most games don't get 11 added minutes and good on you for travelling a long distance to attend AG.
On a separate note, older fans (over the age of 45, I'm 56) may remember an evening FA Cup tie against Northampton in December in the mid 80's that was rescheduled to 7.00pm, so the City staff could attend their Christmas party.
Earlier this season there was one game when they applied the new rule re added time and there was quite a lot, they haven't done that so much lately.

Sorry, its my bad sense of humour. It was like you were officially saying cheerio.
oh. No I've just got to get the coach at 17:45 from the bus station. Time was tight on Saturday after all those shenanigans with the penalty, luckily it left a bit late.

They should have them outside , keep the bars open and start about 10 minutes before the end. Give those leaving early something to listen too.
Agree , they should stay on the pitch and just thank the crowd quickly . Going off for 10/15 minutes then doing a slow walk around is ridiculous .
Oh god, I forgot about the lap of honour. I'll just leave on time as usual.

Steve and Jon have been at a number of games recently
Sorry to be pedantic but you could renew the morning of the first home game and still renew in time
not if you want to stay in the South Stand.

There's another video of them chasing a bloke dressed as a cat that was amusing
Yes I posted that earlier but it's disappeared.

On recent performances the term “show pony” comes to mind. Thinks he is better than he is , but really isn’t all that good. Gave the ball away countless times today, offered little going forward, and had a shot near the end that was just a “look at me” punt when there were far better options available. He’s lucky we got the penalty or otherwise he could be up for belters over that one!
Would I shell out £5+ million on him in fees and many thousands per week in wages on the basis of what we have seen so far? Absolutely not. He’s very lightweight and easily robbed of the ball at this level. He may have torn up League 1 a couple of years ago, but on a similar level, scoring all those goals in League 1 didn’t make Kieron Agard a championship level player.
Yes I feel he’s a bit “all about me”. Not convinced he’s interested in being with us

Today undid a proportion of the good work from Blackburn, Plymouth and Leicester - precisely because of the style.
Post Easter, I’ve used the word “intent” a lot - we have looked to move the ball quicker and we’ve been a better side for it. Today, we didn’t. And the largest part of that was due to the unenforced changes (McCrorie to CB, Sykes to WB, and especially Knight to AM). I said at half time that there was a huge gap between the back and front of the team, particularly because up top Twine didn’t seem to be interested unless the ball was directly to his feet (I made my mind up on him today - there are sparks of creativity but it’s not a deal I’d do).
So, we ended up without the ability to move the ball quickly through the thirds. As a result it was back to sideways and backwards passes - precisely because there was no other ball on - and if I’m being picky, that was due to the way we set up forcing us into that style as opposed to the players choosing that style.
Today, we saw again that Liam is a naturally cautious coach. Maybe he felt he earnt the right to be so today through the current run. But it failed - pretty badly. And all it did was raise the question again of “Did we play with that intent recently as it was the only way to save his job?”
I’m not totally sold on Twine, but that is because I don’t think he’d want to sign for us.

As an Oxford United supporter for many years, I can sympathise with you.
Liam Manning came to us, out of work, with his side kick coach (who we all think did most of the the work), with a managerial 3 year contract.
And what did he do after about half a season? He just buggered off to Bristol without a thought and left our team bereft.
I love Bristol, but he's just a cold fish who's only thinking of number 1.
I really hope that he won't betray you too.
How have you fared since he left?

Interesting that towards the end of the 1st half the crowd booed Pring for going back to the keeper...and let's be clear that the majority of the fans going to these end of season meaningless games are the hard-core type.
You can sense that the style of play is not being well received by the fan base even though we are on this unbeaten run. I guess it's all about next season now. If we are top 10 playing this way, then I'm happy as that's improvement but anything like bottom half of the table come mid October, expect more booing from the stands if we continue to go sideways, backwards and back again...
Um, I’m like, “what style?!”

So….why the MASS exodus of fans (a) when Huddersfield scored (b) on 85 mins?? I hate it when fans leave early at the best of times but that was embarrassing today. We have been on a good run of late and I know things are petering out to another season of mid-tableness but hey…fair enough if we’re losing 3-0 or similar! I’d like to know how many City fans saw Nahki’s penalty scored as we fought regardless of performance to get on level terms.
I didn’t notice any exodus to be honest.

She is clearly no better or worse than most referees but people like to push agendas nowadays,if the ref was Dave from Dundee then the OP wouldn’t be starting a thread
That’s not necessarily true. After nearly every match there will be a thread discussing the ref’s performance.
it’s a novelty to have a female ref, the more often it happens people won’t notice. *I say that but if one makes a howler the usual cliched jibes aimed towards females will start no doubt!- 3

Thought she was good. Would like to see more female refs and officials. Only if they merit it of course. If they’re bad they’ll soon get found out like any male ref.

Huddersfield fans not too confident:
Our only hope is that Bristol City are on the beach.
Problem is that Town are so accommodating that even if they are on beach, we'd be rubbing sun cream on their backs and bringing them pina coladas.Ooh yummy,

On the NX040. No idea why I booked the earlier coach, a trip to Lidl Broadmead awaits
