  1. You often say this, and whilst the larger clubs have great away support.. there are also the numerous Northern clubs who have an even more tepid atmosphere than AG does. Most people only see a club's away following - West Ham fans would have come away from the first leg thinking we create great noise, which we can do. Usually a very different experience watching at their home ground.
  2. It’s crazy - whether it’s a goal or not, it’s clearly a marginal gain in favour of the away side.. so why on earth do we wilfully allow it to happen?!
  3. I’m not sure that’s true actually - used to be the case, but I’ve seen a huge uptick in kids wearing City merchandise over the last few years. That isn’t something that can change overnight, but it’s something that is improving.
  4. ?? Anyone would think we were in the relegation zone and out of the FA cup. It’s a disappointing result but comments like this are so OTT.
  5. I’m hoping - with his self proclaimed attributes of pace/power/flair that he can replace some of the threat we lost when Semenyo left. We’ve missed genuine pace, and if he can also replace some of Semenyo’s strength and athleticism that would be fantastic. I’d never heard of him until last night - so no idea on his ability; just what he’s said about his style of play.
  6. Better back in the Amici days imo
  7. Not sure about that re: club. They show a decent cross section on social media - but a group doing flag displays and singing in a packed area of the ground is obviously more impressive visually for pictures than supporters quietly sat down in the often less busy Lansdown stand. Regarding the team and management, you could argue it shows which section they believe helps spur them on most during matches.
  8. Reminds me of Downsy’s debut where he proudly read out the mightily impressive 22,500 attendance at Ashton Gate to the bemusement of the fans from *checks notes* Newcastle United. Been a ridiculous hire from day one.
  9. It is really odd how this game is continually celebrated. Yeah, great win.. but it was ages ago. We are told that we are a club with aspirations of competing with the likes of Liverpool, which makes it all the more smalltime. The mural is a good piece of artwork, but is a permanent reminder of our underachievement. All very odd.
  10. Give home fans the Atyeo, make it safe-standing and give the fans autonomy to express themselves & put away fans in the nearest adjacent corner of the Lansdown/Dolman and the atmosphere would transform.
  11. I must admit I didn’t read all that because I knew what you were going to say. I’m only interested in the end result - and the club messed that up.
  12. The best thing they could’ve done for atmosphere is made the Atyeo safe standing (and that the home end) with away fans in the nearest adjacent corner of Dolman or Lansdown. The boneheads in charge assumed putting our vocal support physically as far away as possible from away support would be a better catalyst for atmosphere ?
  13. I think the club has a got much better at marketing. Little things like bus adverts, the ads in city centre etc help tacitly cement awareness of the club in people’s minds.
  14. To add to this, when the time comes, i hope the SC&T can find a way to include younger fans. As voting in general elections shows, older voters (which translated to a football context most likely means people who prefer to sit) are disproportionately represented thus skewing results. This doesn’t necessarily represent the true clientele on a match day.
  15. That’s encouraging. Sunday with a packed end behind a goal, which no doubt was a boost to the team, should evidence the marginal gain partisan home support can generate - reassuring to hear the club might consider changing things.
  16. Either that or about the banning of an ‘East End Ultras’ flag on a St. George’s cross
  17. The club don’t want it. They (wrongly) associate atmosphere with trouble. They’d much rather win “family club of the year” or “best social media in the EFL” than us be known for AG being vociferous and atmospheric. They had a unique opportunity to design the layout of the ground to suit everyone - and if they truly wanted atmosphere they’d have put home fans in the Atyeo with away fans in the nearest adjacent corner of the Dolman/Lansdown. This tweet (in the context of what this was about) should remind people about what the hierarchy really think..
  18. Prem clubs make it work somehow, think it’s just accepted that a ticket represents your access to the away end - not necessarily a designated seat.
  19. Hopefully people will abide by the unwritten rule of people needing to sit going near the front leaving 99% stood. Actually, it’s very unusual for a Prem team (with a few exceptions, usually smaller newly promoted clubs) to have anyone sat in an away following.
  20. Aside from being more polished, I don’t think our media output is any better than when Adam Baker was here. Interview style is terrible and the social media pages very often fail to read the room.
  21. I think they were being sarcastic and making exactly the same point you are making in your second paragraph
  22. Rihanna would be ridiculous - can’t imagine we’d get her, she’d be a Wembley/Old Trafford act if doing football stadiums.. would be amazing though.
  23. His body size wouldn’t have changed in a month - but yeah, hope he’s near the first team sooner than later.
