  1. Tough gig to get into the FGR team at the moment, they're flying......
  2. Heard back from James Piercy on Twitter that nothing is arranged for today media wise as it stands. That can always change I suppose, but unlikely given the importance to the Club of the announcement.
  3. A fit NP might be an option. Not sure any team is going to even think about Nige until all his health problems are sorted out though
  4. Thanks @View from the Dolman Tough League as Pucklechurch are on the up...
  5. We've probably got the Norwich job in the mix very shortly as well. Wouldn't like to be competing with them over a particular management choice.
  6. So while City women pulled off a great away victory at West Ham in the Women's premier league, it was also a fantastic performance by Rover's women in their 3-2 victory against "Marine Academy Plymouth????" Are their women's team about Step 9 of Women's football or something?
  7. Or they could give the players the time off and leave them underprepared....
  8. Just tweeted or "x'd" or whatever it is called now James Piercy asking someone from Bristol Live to contact the club to see whether there is any press conference/announcement today? Hopefully that'll put the story one way or another to bed. Surprised they haven't run a story about it all already?
  9. Have to say, if there was going to be a news conference/announcement around lunchtime today, then the media would have been informed by now surely? Maybe James Piercey needs to get the club to clarify if anything is due to happen today and then we can all go back to our day jobs in peace.
  10. I think looking at the footage, the ref was running directly behind Bannan. What he saw was a player becoming aware that Knight was soon going into the 18 yard box and any foul from him would be a penalty. On that basis, he "tactically" bought Knight down right on the edge of the box at the very last opportunity. The ref obviously saw this as a cynical attempt to stop Knight shooting and thus under "Serious foul play" it was a straight red card. The player and Keeper in front of Bannan didn't come into the equation for me. All about Bannan's actions on the pitch.
  11. He is a strange commentator isn't he? Very very unlikely to ever be critical of the Rover's during his match reports and alongside Sam Frost (back in the day) seems unable to call out any negative issue with the Gas at all.
  12. Who would get the 500k bonus then @Davefevs?
  13. I think ultimately, just like players that get tours around the HPC and other places, there could be a multiple reasons why Lampard might not sign in the end. No reason not to believe that he wasn't at the HPC today. However, if when he saw exactly what position we are in, he might have pulled out. We'll know by the start of next week one way or another.
  14. My view (for what it's worth), is that it's a bit of a last throw of the dice by the Lansdowns to win back some of the fanbase. Potentially tricky player management on the horizon, if Lampard (if indeed he is confirmed) trys to bring in PL loans on decent wages in Jan. A large number of the players have signed new contracts probably based on the premise of the club's austerity. If that goes out the window, then some difficult conversations potentially might need to be had.
  15. Thank you at @Fordy62 we do the same job mate after all. Still MCU? Just like work, I wouldn't post stuff I know or believe to be untrue. Will Dm You.
  16. Lampard was at the HPC today. Confirmed by numerous sources now. Currently watching BBC completely ruling Lampard out of the running. This is going to be fun....
  17. Can anyone clarify from either of JL's interviews whether he was actually asked why the club didn't reinvest any of the Scott money into the playing squad? No doubt, he could have fallen back on the "We already have a top 10 budget " nonsense, but it would have been good at least to give him the opportunity to explain what happened to the Plan A and Plan B transfer policy that NP spoke about in the summer. Many thanks
  18. The lampard stuff is basically like the Gerrard stuff from 2020. Complete nonsense isn't it? Loads of keyboard warriors..
  19. Don't quite get why we are loaning Leeson out to Conference North for a month. But putting a 17 year old under 18 RB on the bench? A number of the under 21s seem a little persona no grata for the 1st team squad at the moment (Marlee Francois?). Instead we have players like Nelson and James that are only just in the under 18s?
  20. Completely this Mark. If he was injured, fair enough. But why bring on a 17 year old RB for his debut and put him LB when you have only a few mins left to chase a close game? Allied to that it was our last of 3 opportunities to sub, so as others have said why not bring Mehmeti on? The players looked perplexed and on a number of occasions James had the option to pass to the other James but paused and passed out to Sykes on the right. It was clear that the players had no confidence in him being in that position. Reminded me of when Kalas played alongside Bell, when he was at RB. On a number of occasions he refused to pass to him in that position as well.
  21. Got a bit of a slope there haven't they. Looks like one of those wonderful Junior football pitches of old.
  22. I'm at a loss as to what they are actually calling "An Academy"? They have a development team up until the age of 18 and then seem with the odd exception to drop them. There is no under 21 team at the club at all. Their development team normally uses the excellent facilities at SGS to train, alongside the SGS Academy teams run by David Hockaday that are full of players that have been released from Rovers alongside and other league clubs, plus Academies like BIC. Until Rover's actually spend some money and energy to developing their young players, they are always going to be in this cycle of 15 in, 15 out every season with no 3-5 plan around player development. Just like their crazy history of Stadium development, they appear knee jerk and non-consistent in any sort of approach that will bring sustainable long term player growth to the club.
  23. Just speaking to a gas ST colleague. The temporary stand that they put up behind the goal, was to give away fans seats as well as disabled facilities, or else they would be fined by the league. The problem is now, that they've taken it down (as of yesterday) as it's getting in the way of the new stand. I have no idea if they plan to put it up/take it down before and after every home game to avoid getting fined, or if they're just going to take the EFL fine and have to accept it. Given that the planning meeting isn't for another month anyhow, this is absolute chaos of the highest order there. Also, the new stand will block half the away standing area as well (Like Bolton's old ground, back in the day)... Honestly couldn't make it up.
