  1. I hope Tinman, Crayon Boy and that guy with the suit who did the video gave the lads a good half time briefing on how to maximise value and get promotion. Chat GPT probably does some good motivational speeches.
  2. I had absolutely no idea who this guy was. Never seen or heard his name before. Faceless suit giving corporate style response. Tinnion, Lansdown and now an empty suit. The new communication strategy is like watching the Woodentops.
  3. "People don't appreciate how much we've done for the club or that I'm expert in sport science, functional anatomy and biomechanics. Me and Brian Tinnion will decide if Frank Lampard can manage a football club. "
  4. "We've stuck with Nigel through thick and thin" .... ... until he got ill and needed hospital treatment and 8 of our first team players got injured
  5. Radio Bristol making a bad situation even worse with this pathetic interview. The clown asking the questions seems awestruck by JL who, as per usual, is unable to string two coherent sentences together. And the idea of staggering the clips is just plain stupid. I've been listening for an hour and am still waiting for a single new piece of information about the mess we are in.
  6. Someone should start a poll - who would your prefer Fleming or Tinnion?
  7. For me it's got to the point where my beloved club has become a business unit for a faceless corporation run by an off shore tax avoider which at some point will be sold to another corporation and knowing the Lansdowns the new owner will be a tobacco company or an oil oligarch with blood on his hands. Happy Days!
  8. This was his own team filming him. He could have tried it a hundred times until he got it right. He just has to explain why he fired Pearson. The question for the comms team is, which is worse, allowing them to speak or making sure nobody gets to see that they have no explanation for sacking the very person who had already begun to achieve what the two of them are now saying we are aiming to achieve.
  9. We'd just about forgiven Tinnion for his spell as worst City manager ever (a crowded field if ever there was one), but he's doing a good job of trashing his reputation and the affection some of us have because of his long association with the club.
  10. See my post above. That was not public speaking. It was a safe place
  11. I agree we shouldn't make it personal. However, a basic requirement of the Chair person, the leader, the figurehead of a significant organisation under contant national scrutiny is to be able to communicate effectively. Nobody looking at this appalling clip could or has suggested that John Lansdown is capable of communicating effectively. This was a carefully prepared piece with a friendly interviewer held in private. If you can't explain the biggest decision you have to make as a Chair to a friendly person in an otherwise empty room, it's not personal to assess you as completely incapable of doing your job. Other essential requirements are to have a complete understanding of the organisation and its performance. John Lansdown says the he thinks the current squad is the best there has been "during my time". However he measures that period, he knows that Semenyo and Scott have left in the last 10 months. Does he think we are stupid? Can someone with that level of IQ really be in charge of a significant organisation?
  12. That's it for me. Fan since the sixties, been with them up to the old first division and down to the fourth. Was raised a stone's throw from Ashton Gate. John Galley came to a mate's birthday party when I was a lad. Don't live in UK much now but watch on Robins TV. I've hated the whole Bristol Sport era. It has nothing whatsoever to do with Bristol City. The football over so many years now has been so disappointing. The Holden appointment was a disaster. Nigel Pearson has done a good job given the total mess he inherited. Having steadied the ship, he has won the respect of the fans and, given the injury problems, the performances have not been as bad as they used to be. If he had been allowed to re-invest, we would certainly have been competing at the top end of the table. Even with this squad fully fit, we would surely be there or thereabouts. I really had hope. So I don't care if he's got Pep Guardiola lined up to take over, I'll no longer call myself a fan until the Landsdowns are gone. They've behaved despicably toward Pearson and treated fans with contempt. They are incapable of making big footballing decisions. They are only interested in their own empire which no longer has much to do with football.
  13. Must admit I didn't watch it again before posting it - the memory of that sh!t show is still way too strong in my memory!!
  14. I'm going for Dante Cassanova!
  15. Personally I have no interest in hearing from the Lansdowns unless they have something of significance to report. Jon, bless him, is totally out of his depth ( viz ... ) and I've heard so many different fantasy futures from Steve over the years about how we're going to be the next Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford, Luton or whatever other small town or city's club has made it to the top. So unless there is something of serious note, let them languish in their tax free havens while the rest of us struggle and make do with the mid table mediocrity weve got used to under their reign.
  16. First time at HPC for me too. Very impressed by the whole thing. Great performance by the boys. Yeboah in particular very threatening and Pearson impressive work rate. A few of our lads were struggling with cramp in the second half which I found interesting. Shows the gap in intensity and fitness required at first team level.
  17. I've just watched Nige's interview - He's still really pissed off about the performances in the last two games. "I expect wide players to want the ball" "when you've got the opportunity to give your opponents a real test win wide areas, you've got to want the ball ... and we didn't". He's asked if you can coach bravery into players and he says you can't get into their heads: "If a player doesn't want the ball, you have to ask the question." I didn't see the games. Does he mean anyone in particular?
  18. Well. If we were match sharp we'd not have missed that chance and would be 1 -0 up, so we'll take 0 0 at half time. But ... wtf was that about?!
  19. Update. Turns out Mrs Daniro wasn't as keen on the idea as I thought. Must remember to actually mention it to her next time,
  20. I'm back in town for a short spell and me and the current Ms Daniro fancied giving ourselves a last minute treat to watch the opening game of the season. Seems there's no decent seats left together so I'm thinking of splashing out £90 each for this package - Guest speaker - Paul Cheesley. My, I used to sing I'd walk a million miles for one his goals ... £180 to hear him speak and maybe even eat cheese from the open buffet in his presence with the complimentary bottle of Heineken!? What's not to like apart from the hefty price tag. Might be more entertaining per pound spent than a fancy restaurant for our wedding anniversary however, and the Mrs has fond memories of seeing City knock Chelsea out of the cup many moons ago. Heineken Lounge is between the Dolman and the stand formerly known as East, isn't it? Or is the whole experience too grim and the view sh!te?

    Crossing

Well I'm no statistician, but I tell you, Conway's goal on Saturday from that wonderful cross from Pring was sheer delight. I get it, 9 times out of ten there'd be nobody in the right place or if there were, they'd mis-head it, but when it comes together like that, it is a thing of beauty.
  22. Yes - I understand your point and only the other day was talking to my neighbour who had horse steak while in Italy and enjoyed it. I guess if you eat meat, then there's no logical reason to refuse horse. I was, as you spotted, thinking of putting it in burgers without declaring it, but in retrospect, it's not related to the topic of the Grand National. Mind you, neither are a lot of points being made on this thread!
