  1. Portrays himself as intelligent. I’m increasingly unsure. He’s, no doubt, well read on coaching but where’s the emotional intelligence and where’s the passion, the love of the game for the game…. Not the wretched process.
  2. Always felt he gave his best. That dip in form was dramatic but his career carried on. Good luck to him in his retirement. is anyone else from our team of that era still playing? Can’t think of anyone off the top of my head.
  3. Root cause of this is the Lansdowns…. However Manning is doing himself no favours. No rapport with the fans and not playing a brand of football us fans want or understand. He needs to change dramatically or we (fans) will win, eventually.
  4. Your view is the correct approach but I’ve a horrible feeling this won’t work out regardless. I’d pull the trigger now. One of my biggest concerns is that he’s building no rapport with the fan base and being stubborn beyond all belief. This is Bristol City and he must produce something Bristol City supporters want and understand…. if he doesn’t flex there will be only one winner.
  5. I might have something for you but can you fit I with the business’s blame culture and charisma-free policy?
  6. And under Pearson I never felt players were hiding, confused, going missing. I can’t say that now.
  7. Honestly, I don’t think you’re on your own…. but I think you’re in the minority. Quite a small minority, I’d think. When you get away support booing and mocking the team - it’s bad.
  8. We’ve got enough time to get a new manager in before Leicester. But won’t. And I meant manager not another bloody trainee head coach just out of head coach school.
  9. This is it! Well said. I keep meaning to double check but I think no club has spent longer, uninterrupted, in the middle to divisions than City. 40+ years - it’s almost the definition of a lack of ambition. it could be worse, I was there in 82… it was worse but the football was better, things got better and ultimately we only ended up there because of gambles made in the top flight…. But at least we were there to gamble… stuff was happening, good and bad but we’ve been stagnant for too long. Sure no one watches football enjoying nothing happening? Effectively the same season over and over again.
  10. Lansdown is now running it on a shoestring budget (by football standards) while showing no signs of getting out…. How many years has he talked about it?
  11. That’s a reasonable amount of time…. But it’s hard not to see it as ending in another season wasted and more poor signing. I think he should go now.
  12. Wasn’t down to the tactics he also said…. It’s crazy, I’ve never known a manager so full of himself and so willing to throw his team under the bus.
  13. Yeah…. Didn’t mention Ipswich’s owners or Cov’s owners…. Or countless others. “Be careful what you wish for” gets you stuck in mediocrity for 40+ years.
  14. “I beat Southampton, they (the players) have been rubbish since… not my problem” will probably be the measure of it.
  15. Is he a signing? I thought he won the star prize in the rewards scheme - a place on the bench.
  16. No no no it’s all wrong, in modern football you don’t reinvest in players like Ellis Simms and back an experienced manager. What you do is create a nest egg and employ a boring rookie….. it’s the pathway to Tinnion-land AKA League One.
  17. He took such inspiration from Southampton that he copied their poor performance for our next 3 games.
  18. Jizzed in rather than skidded, the way this lot go on about that win! sorry I’ve made myself feel ill
  19. The Huddersfield home game is on the exact two month anniversary of the Southampton win…. I’m expecting a celebratory kit, players doing a pre-match lap of honour/open top bus tour, marching bands, sky-divers, special commemorative programme (yours for only £27.95) and limited edition O’Neills badly fitting underpants complete with the incorrect scoreline 3-0 printed on each cheek. Seriously, if he keeps doing it, I’d love it if the interviewer immediately butted in and added “swiftly followed by QPR, Wednesday and Cardiff no-shows”. I reckon he’d have a SOD “stupid question” breakdown.
  20. This is it. Our head coach doesn’t strike me as a people manager or a leader in any meaningful way. No emotional intelligence comes across in his interviews - either towards his players or us supporters.
  21. Sounds about right. “Yeah I’ve chatted to few mates and it turns out we’re perfect… and don’t forget we beat Southampton once and everyone was happy oh and Brian says we need to take less time off training in order to stay fit and well, he’s been here 30 years, so it must be true.” Case closed.
  22. The bloke doing the internal investigation pulled a hamstring. Don’t worry he’ll complete the investigation when he’s back fighting fit in 2 weeks….. or maybe 6 months.
  23. Or….. Nepotism, stagnation, short-termism, nest egg and colouring in I think that was it and I’m bought into it. I’m off to buy my Brian Tinnion 30th anniversary full kit.
  24. Oh…. I’d forgotten the pillars. What were they again?
  25. Dunno…. My thinking was more about focus… let’s get the men’s team winning before anything else. The lack of focus is a massive problem for BS: how many of these have been started and successfully reached a higher point in their relative sport: football, rugby, basketball, women’s football? Weren’t there also netball and motor sport elements at one stage? How about focusing on one, making it successful before starting the next? It’s a bonkers model.
