  1. I wouldn't think so, the club have been cutting their cloth. With the release of so many players last season, moving on higher earners or offering reduced terms. We have made no significant signings and are using academy players to plug gaps... It might be close, but think the club have this under control.
  2. How did he make 5 million on a non existing apprenticeship scheme ? There seems little information on the actual fraud... Just seems a lot of money.
  3. That's OK, if they can't shift them, just see out their contacts and let them go on mass for free.... worked here, what could possibly go wrong with such a plan....??
  4. Thanks guys, have arranged to see a solicitor for a free consultation to feel out her options / way to proceed.
  5. I was hoping someone might know. My partner and her ex have finally got around to selling their home that she lived in with her husband. They had been together for 15 ish years, and own the house. The house deeds are however in her husband's name, and even though they both wanted the house sale proceeds to goto her, and for her to then settle all their debts and split the money, they are saying they will only send the money to him. Is this a legal requirement ? It's just that the closer the house is coming to completion, he has started making worrying signs that he won't be splitting the house sale, which will see her and the kids rather... Well to be honest screwed going forward. Does anyone know if there is a good reason the money can't be sent to her ?
  6. Daughter managed to get free tickets through her school. Her first ever live sports event and to be honest I didn't think she would really enjoy it. After a few minutes where she looked lost, and unsure she gradually got into things, started cheering, and giving players her own nicknames to recognise them by.... By the end of the match she was loving it, and turned around to ask when we are coming again. So well done to the club, a new unexpected convert, who is going to the next home match. albeit out of our own pocket ?

  8. Has it made it all a little to cosy, nice facilities, food, restraints etc.. like a hotel rather than a training centre ?
  9. Brentford's money all recruitment https://youtu.be/mrwwVoD1RQQ
  10. It's possible that it will work out for him. Watford and us could have ironed out a few of his mistakes even if his ego still feels the need to be stoked occasionally. He won't make a "value on the pitch" mistake again, and I'm sure a "Dean Holden... Best candidate" situation won't happen again.... He has cut their wage bill, assembled a decent squad... It's now down to can he sit back and let Cook do what he needs.... If he meddles, and makes the same mistakes then I feel sorry for Ipswich, but if he's maybe learned from twice having his actions almost catch up with him, maybe he will more careful this time.
  11. No idea how they get away with temporary stands for so long. I can understand events that last months or a year useing them, but just odd they are allowed for long term seating. Maybe that's the cheap way forward for the Ayteo when it updated, a big top with benches
  12. Think a 12,000 seater stadium will suit them fine. If they start getting big gates ? then providing it has the land around it to be able to upgrade stands as they go they would be fine.
  13. When the Basketball have their arena, maybe they can start pushing for the slot if third most supported team in Bristol ?
  14. I still don't understand why they don't just make the Mem into a decent 12,000 seat stadium... If they had just done one end every few years it would have been all done now. If they should need the extra seats (prob top half of Championship for a sustained period) look to expand. They have what they need, and had / have the money... They just can't be happy with what would be appropriate and want unrealistic / unobtainable grand builds.... Really sad.... They should look to FGR, Yeovil and not us... There is no shame in it.
  15. The site is awful, there is already a cinema with ample parking (shops, take outs etc), the Temple Meads site nearby is about to get hotels and conference centre/s. It's not close enough to traffic links to be practically useful, but close enough that the expense of closing such a busy route down to extend / improve links might not seem costs effective. Worse, does the city need more offices or another large multi use stadium ( Ashton Gate, the new Flyers venue, Colston Hall, New Filton arena) I just cannot see the demand. What the City needs is housing and this site surely would be more profitable for the owners if they sold it to a housing company (if they want to sell at all).
  16. I saw two on the bus stop this morning at 5.40 so they will have at least 2 away supporters.
  17. The clubs that dislike us, what small percentages - seems we are liked outside of Rovers. I mean of the top 5 clubs that hate us we have 17%, 14% 9% and 4% rate - wow
  18. If something does go horribly wrong then the Mem goes to Dwayne sports as it is secured against a loan. Does diluting their ownership then reduce liability on debts, is it a slow tippy tappy exit strategy ?
  19. How do they get away with putting up these temporary structures over such long periods. They are designed for one off events like the Bath and West show etc not permanent sporting stadium stands.
  20. there must be CCTV all round the place -
  21. How did I miss this - I have been semi away the last few days, but was this posted anywhere ? https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-rovers-fans-angry-over-2905398 Bristol Rovers may have shared Twerton Park for a decade, but Gas fans are not exactly enamoured with Bath City at the moment. Rovers played at the Romans' ground between 1986 and 1996, following their departure from Eastville, and many Gas fans have a soft spot for the National League South side. Yet a number acted with surprise, and anger on Friday, after the Romans unveiled a choice of away kits for next season that fans can vote for. That's due to the fact that Bath have changed kit suppliers from Errea to Bristol Sport - the retail arm of the owners of Bristol City, Bristol Bears and Bristol Flyers. It was an announcement that was met by a mixed reaction from Rovers supporters, as well as some followers of Bath, who pointed out a group of City fans were convicted of a devastating arson that took place at Twerton Park's main stand in September, 1990. Dan Wright: Bristol Sport? Get in the bin lads. Holmz: Bristol Sport? I used to like Bath City ... Sam: Bristol Sport?? Horrific. Mike Lee: Bristol f****** Sport? Having a laugh surely. Jonathan: Bristol Sport?! That's my potential shirt purchase out the window... Jay Collett: Bristol Sport is not a good move. The idea was a result of Bath approaching Bristol Sport to manufacture their kit as chairman Jon Lansdown explains: "We’ve been manufacturing bespoke kits for our sporting group (Bristol City; Bristol Bears and Flyers) since 2014. "Bath City approached us to see if we could work with them and we are pleased to be their official kit supplier for next season. We look forward to seeing the team wearing the kit for the forthcoming campaign." There is no takeover in mind and no wider plan, as feared by elements of the Bath support, it is simply a case of Bristol Sport branching out from the teams owned by Steve Lansdown. Bath and the Robins have had a close relationship recently, with a number of young players heading out on loan to Twerton Park. Recent seasons have seen the likes of Antoine Semenyo, Freddie Hinds and James Morton loaned from the Robins to Bath. Bristol City's first signing of the summer was also to bring Bath Player of the Year Robbie Cundy to Ashton Gate on a two-year contract. The announcement also led to many City fans delighted to see their club extending links with the local community, and rubbing salt into the wounds of the Gas. Mitchyl Downs: Love the Gas getting wound up by this. Ashley Gent: Love how they are rustling all the Gasheads with Bristol Sport, superb stuff. James: Gas tears, City cheers. Dave: Always had the Gas lot down as sound people but the state of some of these tantrums over who does the stitching of a non-league team. Absolute cringefest. Bath fan Keith Leakey arguably gave the most considered viewpoint over the situation. He said: "Five years ago i would have been really against anything to do with Bristol City, but times have moved on and sorry but they have helped us a fair bit in the last few years."
  22. Possibly, I know Rovers will costs a lot of money, but there are people out there who just don't care about costs for one reason or another. Will be interesting to see, their man in London must be making at least some calls to justify his £250,000
  23. my uncle thinks they are close to a deal with a US deal, god knows where he heard it from, but he's not usually the gossipy type, but wouldn't say anything else, so who knows,
