The wave of mass hysteria has hit here in deepest Lanzarotte!

Firstly, if it were my Club I would have supported ‘our Nige’ after the sale of Scott with the promise of more to come in January’s window. He was a cracking manager with many managerial values and principles akin to my own. Even during the ‘dark days’ last Xmas - bar a little wobble - I resolutely supported him. He became entwined into the soul of the Club in a way no other manager - bar Cotts, Dicks, Cooper - has achieved.  I find it difficult to accept he will manage another Club, he became the ‘beating heart’ of Bristol City in a very short time.

However, I am not totally dismissive of SLs decision. I’m sure towards the end many of the likely agreed ‘performance indicators’ were blazing red. While 100% supportive of the small squad, team is greater than the sum of its parts approach you really have to be built from men of granite, not glass. Our injuries have destroyed us. The injury list is far worse than the worst of pre-Nige. You also need playing partnerships. There are none - as none are in the team sufficiently long enough to forge partnerships before they get injured. You also need to spend wisely. We haven’t. The Club also need to be united, and Nige’s job is to manage up as well as down, and clearly there have been many issues up the line…probably starting with the Danny Simpson saga.

So while personally I really, really like Nige as a manager and a person, if I were pumping £20 million plus a year into the Club I can see that an investor might take a different view. The decision to terminate Nige’s contract has also to be seen in the context of the new appointee. Nige has set a very high bar. It will be interesting to see how far above that bar the new man is. I would hope the new man is in place today or tomorrow and frankly, for me, that will be ‘judgement day’.

Desperately sad though to see Nige go though, and hope for a few months he focuses on his health, rather than football.

If NPs health and lack of time on the training ground was part of the issue, they should have pushed Nige upstairs replacing Tins as DOF and make Tins Director of Acadamy

  2. Total incompetence, having spent 3 weeks emailing robins tv we are now £170 down plus xchange rate costs as they have taken double subscriptions without permission, then refunded one and now cancelled the subscription! All we wanted as a refund for the Stoke game.

so 170+ down, no subscription so we cannot watch today’s match without spending another £10 .

With sharp practice like this I think a call to Trading Standards….unfortunately you no longer have access to a board member to alert them to the incompetence being carried out in  their name.

Maybe not the time to say it and if I get some stick so be it - our home support ain’t right full stop.

Let’s be clear the performance today was low on quality. But booing them off at half-time? Shouting abuse at 1-0 down when we play a backwards pass (which is sometimes the right thing to do!). This was Dolman E30, can’t speak for the all the ground of course.

I don’t think our players like playing at the Gate. We’ll get more points on the road this season, the away support stays with them.

First  time I have sat in the Dolman E30 with my grandson..great view but what a disappointment with guys sat  behind.Language was industrial despite banners indicating bad language was not acceptable..then comments that every one of our players and manager was shite .

This was the first time my 10 yr old had been to the Gate . His comment ‘think I will stay watching Bath’ …that’s one way to loose the future support.

Before I try and figure out why it’s not letting me buy a march pass to watch the game (I’m in the Netherlands and am actually in the Netherlands rather than “in the NL” via VPN) and it’s not showing as an option, it hasn’t been selected for international broadcast somewhere that anyone can find has it?
This isn’t the first I haven’t been able to get it to work from NL, France or Belgium - am I just being dumb?

It is because it will be on sky

Are Championship players being priced out of moved a bit? Or more accurately are PL clubs now looking overseas more often or indeed for PL players who may have run their course as they don't deem Championship sides as valuable as they might have been.

Looking to use the obvious financial gaps to leverage players our as cheaply as possible.

  6. A report in Football League World claims Newcastle/Palace /Wolves/Fulham are all tracking AS who could go in a cut price deal as he is out of contract next season! Think again …we have an option for another year beyond 2023. Why can journalists not do the necessary research if writing an article.

I get your point but it doesn`t half piss off those of us who run small businesses and are patronised, intimidated, threatened and made to dance to HMRC`s tune if we try to delay paying our dues.

I`m ******* livid to be honest. I don`t care if it takes Derby twenty years to pay their tax debts as long as they do in full.

They have already collected the VAT and NIC etc but spent it on players that no other club could afford. Make them pay in full..we already have one tax payer subsidised club in West Ham !!

  8. What is it about the Sky Commentators and their love in with Derby ? Anyone would think that none of the problems they have had off field had nothing to do with the club and not justified. They cheated their way through the last few seasons and by rights should be playing Div 1 this season .But no according to Sky they are a big club who deserve to be i the top flight.

What a joke…now muted the match  rather than listen to the shit they come out with.

  9. Having lost £93m over 3 seasons Reading are under EFL transfer embargo which means they can only sign Free agents or loans (half season) and pay no transfer or loan fees .

How come they get Danny Drinkwater from Chelsea for a seasons loan !!!!!!! The guy is on the best part of £100k a week .

Think Derby get away with murder - Reading really take the biscuit .
