He was an absolute lion and my man of the match last night. He's had a thankless task recently playing up front on his own, often with no support and no one within 15 yards of him (although that's criticising the tactics not the players). I hope playing him together with Wells is a long term plan, because I think they can form a great partnership and cause chaos against any opposition.
  2. Unfortunately, all too often at home we play to the opposition's strengths.
  3. In my opinion, after he was ill in late 2018 (rumoured to be glandular fever, if I remember rightly) we didn't give Pato enough recovery time, and his form dipped because he subsequently took much longer to get back to full fitness. A lot of the squad suffered from burn out over that period, because of the cup run and the fact that we didn't bring in reinforcements in that January transfer window. Pato more than most. LJ got stick as a player, unjustly at times, because GJ wouldn't drop him even when his form was bad. I think Pato has taken similar criticism, but now he's fit, back with us and seemingly rejuvenated, he's almost like a new signing. I just hope he's not the only signing we make in January....
  4. A few home games this season, unfortunately.
  5. This is what it meant to my boy when he was City mascot 4 years ago.
  6. If it was a player there would be uproar, and the kids in the crowd shouldn't be hearing that from a match official. I appreciate they take a lot of flak but I don't feel that behaviour is acceptable. My boy, who heard it, plays football and respect is constantly drummed into them.
  7. I can't say it was at me personally, more at the general area we were sat in. As you'd expect the crowd contributed, (e.g. I yelled at him to ask if he was watching the same game when he gave off side but was 10 yards behind play) , but like I said line-o's have taken far more grief than he did in that first half hour & kept their composure. Maybe if his top hadn't shrunk in the wash he wouldn't have been so tense, it looked like it was cutting off his circulation.
  8. I lodged a complaint about the linesman with a club steward, who said it would be passed to the referee, and also advised me to email the FA, which I've done. He probably took less grief than most linesman, but still thought it acceptable to tell the crowd to f##k off. It'll be interesting to see what sort of response I get.
  9. I did something I've never done before and left at half time. Me and the boy had been feeling shitty all week (hence we missed the Millwall game) but thought we'd make the effort. Couldn't believe what how crap we were, and when he asked to go home at half time I couldn't be bothered to argue. Utter dross.
  10. As has no doubt been said many times before, it's no good putting in more parking restrictions if alternative parking or public transport facilities are not put in place, to cope with said parking being displaced. Granted the buses have improved but there still aren't enough to cope. BCC at it's incapable best as usual.
  11. We went to Florida in June when it was 36-39 degrees every day. Half way round that ride my son tipped a bottle of ice cold water down my back, causing me to involuntarily jump up and shout 'Jesus!' at the top of my voice, much to the obvious disgust of the group of bible belters sat by us. I thought we were going to get lynched.
  12. No really, this is actually their new kit, image taken from their official website. Horrendous.
  13. The ref today, as with many home games this season, was simply shocking. Some of the Derby tackles he let go left him with no authority and incapable of controlling the game. And as per usual the linesman were equally ineffective and incompetent, you may as well get the mascots running up and down the line. If that performance doesn't warrant a review then football had gone to sh#t. 5 star nob head.
