  1. Might be a good season to skip. City despite their lack of achievement has always been a wonderful escape from the day to day & bookmarks the weekend. However, this season it feels toxic & confused; since Pearson got the boot, even this place has become a bit of a misery lab too, the likes I’ve never witnessed before following city. That said, we’ll renew - but attend less games.
  2. In 4 months - you’re joking? right?
  3. Not a popular opinion but I'm inclined to give him time, despite our experiences, he is seen as a promising young coach in the wider football world. To be clear I've not enjoyed the football that much but we have risen to the occasion against stronger teams & TBH I have some reservations about his ability to step up as a charismatic leader but, he's come into a toxic environment & hasn't had a chance to relax into the role in any way. But.......... The season is a right off, we will find enough points to stay up & he will learn from the relentless brickbats the fanbase is quite rightly giving him & he's young (for a head coach) so he's still building the maturity in position. If he's as smart as the image he presents he will learn quickly or fail fast. The board will be forced to back him in the summer, especially as we will see a lot of traffic in player movement - this is a good window to recruit to the type of football he wants to play. No doubt JL & BT massively underestimated the job NP & Co were doing, but binning off Manning early doors to make them wear their mistake doesn't help anyone. If anything it should encourage the board to properly invest in the squad. With more of his type of squad & having gone through a tough initiation to the championship, we might find ourselves with an actual identity & a method for dealing with teams we've struggled against.
  4. His should be starting - 1st half last few games chances have fallen for Wells that Tommy puts away, usually time he gets on the service/opportunities are drying up. Rightly would be pissed especially as he’s a fan - probably spending his days off visiting places like Glasgow, Bournemouth etc scoping where he’s living next season. It won’t be here.
  5. You think Ashton hand picked LJ & Holden? No chance! Those appointments had SL & JL written all over them.
  6. This is a good point - whilst he’s not hitting the brief right now, with the appropriate support & recruitment designed to match his style of play we stand more of a chance of top 6. The timing was all off with the hire, but we’re here now & accept he’s in the role - over to the powers that be to put their money where their mouth is & build a top 6 squad that matches the coaches philosophy because they took us to this situation.
  7. When you put it like that - hell yeah lets boo every touch & cheer every time he can’t control it.
  8. The players need some fire in their belly’s. Can’t help but feel that’s the bit that’s missing. Cool, Calm but no real urgency. The coach creates the behaviours & he needs to look further than the technical aspects.
  9. Disagree - they were set up to fail today & slowly lost belief as the game progressed. Big learning point for the coaching team today.
  10. Just back & sorry if this is a repeat as yet not read the thread I’m fully supportive of Manning but today he got that massively wrong. Possibly our strongest squad options to start with - he got startng line up wrong & also the subs. We we’re playing well creating chances but not finishing until Bell went off with injury - Sykes to us seem the obvious replacement. Seem all down hill from there onwards. Off the back of an excellent win, full compliment of attacking players to utilise we’re treated to 90+ mins of Nakhi being a yard off everything. Hopefully, the coaching team will learn from this.
  11. Can’t recall such a strong bench for us in years. Also the new vintage graphics are very good, proper football styling.

    South Stand

This is The key factor here At one point recently you could “distribute” your ticket & pass it on via email, super easy! - this option has now disappeared and you have to reassign to a member. This so especially annoying when you want to share with non members, frankly it’s not worth the effort and this so probably why there are empty ST seats around the ground in general.
  13. 9 Of the final 14 matches are against teams below us/bottom end. Probably means nowt but roll the current form forward & we can be confident of a strong finish -possible highest finish in years.

    Matt James

    Excellent tonight.
  15. It’s weird isn’t it. I’m encouraged by him, think with backing & a full pre-season we could actually be on for achieving something more.
  16. Fair enough, but a team of Boro’s quality we were one slip away from conceding, saved by the offside call the limo must have had excellent vision as it looked like Greenwood was inside.
  17. Felt like it was a wise move to sit in straight after the break as Boro would no doubt come for us. But to remain like that was suicidal, we got away with it but looked like far more effort defending for 45 like that, fair play to the lads for digging in. We needed the win, I can see the rationale but still thought it was a mental tactical change for the whole half.
  18. This really is a terrible event: awful branding, the excruciating roll out & weak line up etc. Hope they get a reasonable turnout by dishing out discounted tickets as it gets near & at least cover costs.
  19. My hope: The club to get acquired by a sovereign wealth fund of a questionable nation - pumped full of the worlds finest players and used as the gold standard in “sports washing” their human right records clean.

    Tins on RB

I know we lost but seriously? If he does as you suggest can you pin this to your signature as we watch his career develop with decent service.
  21. Maybe but anything else is wishful thinking. Because on what basis is the expectation of more in anyway realistic - it can’t be based on any history at this level.
  22. Why do so many come at it like we’re a premier league parachute team? Reality is we’re a mid table championship club at best who will get raided for best players to stay a float. When was the last time we troubled the playoffs (not including L1) Unlikely to go down or up - we’ll win some lose some - enjoy the ride & let’s hope the board back Liam for next season.
  23. We all know/knew it’s never a top 6 squad, I don’t know why this keep getting quoted, it obvious spin & repeating is as preposterous as the statement itself. Change of coach was never going to revolutionise our season - I can’t imagine anyone thought for a minute it would. But I think we can all agree there are green shoots with Liam & more importantly the board like him so he will be backed which is good for us as fans.
