What hasn't been considered is the mindset of the departing coaches vs the mindset of someone like Alex Ball. PS & KD came across as quite dour personalities who gave the impression of been round the block many times & bit jaded as football people. They also have lived through the sh1tshow all the way since DH, which will take its toll on their ability to lift the group. AB comes across & as a younger, energetic coach who hasn't been affected by the past 18 months. The biggest weakness is our losing at home mentality - refreshing the coaching environment or taking out those who can't lift the spirits is a good call.

Match Report: Fans turn on team after usual Hawthorns surrender
Jeez replied to Olé's topic in Football Chat
They always have & it was always inevitable that gap was going to widen over time. Covid is now accelerating it. But we can’t use it as an excuse. This club has had the time & resources at its disposal to create a well run scouting & talent acquisition model, we started going there but didn’t commit & now we end up with a random group of players. So frustrating. -

Here’s hoping. Could be in 19th place by Sunday. WBA a tough test. Preston & Sheff both have very winnable games. -

Tonight was our chance to get the home win & would have kept on Wells until the end & tried to keep Scott on longer than we did. The team fought hard, except Palmer & Odowda gave us zero dynamic coming on which I don’t get. Talent & pace but it just didn’t work & we retreated back to our own box. So inevitable. -
Agreed, we’re continue to pay the price for Holden’s appointment & keeping LJ too long. How he signed it off I still don’t know. LJ I can see why they tried to keep him past sell his by date, but Holden’s appointment was simply ridiculous, I don’t think there’s single supporter out there who thought it worth any kind of shot. I quite like Pearson & prefer to stick with him for now, but he needs to overcome the mentality that creeps in the last 20 mins of home games.

The location of away fans in our ground is ridiculous since rebuild. Every game, we have to 1-2k away fans shouting your support is XXXXXX sh1t, is this a library & all the other highly original routines & directly at the blocks least likely to respond, because; They have the whole stand behind the goal You can just about hear our singing section from the Atyeo side, but it sounds like they are in KFC, it so feint & as a result doesn't spread round through the ground well enough. Singing section is at the other end off the ground - I used to loved when away fans were next to old wedlock stand, the dynamic was managed. Someone on this thread mentioned about moving away fans to the Lansdown top tier, what a great idea & surely this has to be a priority or at least properly considered. Because; This would bring the family seats down closer to the action and behind our own goal, this will get the kids more engaged. Acoustically, it should reduce the impact of any fans as there technically above the surrounding stands Away fans cans still be contained & the club can still flog them all refreshments they want. The impact of away fans must be having an affect of the atmosphere & performances, the club really need to consider elements like this as for me it becoming a weird dynamic that actually makes the experience pretty sh1t for home fans.

Twerton Park is a better ground than Ashton Gate...

Right now I couldn't give a sh1t about the facilities at AG or where its ranked, just need to start winning at home. If anything it shows what a vanity project AG is. Whats the point in building amazing facilities but not employing the right people to build a competitive team to play in it. Hopefully tonight is the night with a win v Forest. COYR -
I hope not, I cringe when we wear it.

Much more competitive this season & enjoying watching us develop, so much so I’d forgotten how we almost always play badly against Millwall. Last night felt like 2 steps backwards toward the dark days of last season. We really missed HNM energy & disruption in the centre and Wells pace at the front. We played some good through balls that another finisher will have met.

Feel for him. Tried to do it but constantly a yard or 2 off succeeding. He can’t sub himself. -

This is the worst half of football all season. -
There were posters on here desperate for MM to get the job here & kept quoting what he did years ago with Wolves & Eire - they had no capacity to consider otherwise. I couldn't think of anything worse & glad we didn't go near him.

You a regular in the Daily Mail Comments section too? ? In all seriousness- Why should anybody have to, its not illegal to have a cider & watch some sport, except in football stadiums - it might even liven our home crowd up a bit. Its ridiculous having to go queue then down a pint and rush back to seat. As long as it doesn’t apply to the away fans though. They don’t need any encouragement.

Maybe lets give them a chance first. -
Is that 12 a side? ? I thought Palmer & Scott both on pitch worked well. Might get mullered by better opposition though or Palmer has regular off day.
-
You’d drop Alex Scott to accommodate Well & Martin? Before today maybe but after this after Scott is a starter for me. We’ll see if it sustainable as may fade after a run of games but he looks special. Would have swapped Martin for Wells at about 75 mins today.

You have to question their ambition after a good Euros to even consider staying at City. As much we love the club we are a struggling 2nd tier team with little to no chance of going anywhere this season.

Make sense to advertise the fact to any interested parties if Nagy wants out. I get the idea he’d prefer to be playing in European leagues but doubt those clubs are watching Bristol city post match interviews, but you never know.

Yeah he was warming up throughout the 2nd half along with Wells -

Wells looked frustrated warming up, especially as the game went on; we thought he was getting the nod & even Williams looked surprised when he was called back to get ready to come on. -

What have you heard about Nagy? He’d have been who I’d have brought on if we were trying to get better control of the midfield late into the game so there probably is some truth in the rumour wherever it might be
