  1. In fairness to NTTDS it was showing as cancelled 5 mins ago but now showing as running again. Take that as a sign that anything could happen with the trains & have a plan b in your back pocket.

But they subtly are different things:-
  3. Maybe now it’s more acceptable to believe that MA actually had little influence in the appointment of LJ & Deano.
  4. Local paper suggesting Eustace is not even in the running. I think we're most likely going for Luke Williams and trying to sort out compo for Notts Co
  5. Both videos suggest JL & BT created this situation themselves & drove the sacking on Sunday - obviously, SL sanctioned (maybe reluctantly) it but it is evident this was their cooked-up project - but they have completely misjudged it & are trying to smooth over (badly).
  6. Thought he was on about 6 million a season at saints
  7. It’s a great car - don’t knock it!
  8. Fair enough Len - agreed! They better have a well worked plan to pull trigger mid season like they did.
  9. Ok fair enough poor choice of words. mods - change “Rational” to “Balanced” not intending to wind anyone up on here just creating a channel discuss.
  10. Maybe differing perspectives having slept on it. To be fair I’ve never seen anything like it on here.
  11. Didn’t say anyone was. I get some fans are furious - just felt there needs a more balanced/rational/dust settled conversion. But seems everyone is raging & not prepared to look at it in the cold light of day.
  12. Ok - maybe “Balance” would be a better title
  13. Obviously - but many are reacting like we’ve sacked Pep for being 2nd in the prem.
  14. None whatsoever - more a case of luck than judgement. I sense you’re too dug in to accept there were games where Pearson didn’t get it right.
  15. A lot of the posts over the last 24 hours have got overblown. Hopefully we’ve slept on it & now have a bit more perspective. NP brought a lot of positives but let’s not kid ourselves, he can be difficult, we’ve collectively scratched our heads about subs & tactics and if he can’t manage the owners than he isn’t dynamic enough for this particular club’s needs. What we don’t know is how NP is received throughout the rest of the club & if he’s as hard to work with as his reputation suggests. I’m incredibly grateful for what he’s done in clearing out the overpaid disinterested players & instilling the positive work ethic, team spirit. It was a brutal sacking given the availability. But football managers are well paid & they know the score. His contract will be honoured until end of the season, we all knew he wasn’t getting a new one, so this is probably makes sense to get the new guy started now before the Jan window opens. Especially if they had already started the process & found the right candidate. There’s certainly more to it than we know & my gut is with the right appointment, squad depth & availability this group can kick on
  16. Its called trying to bootstrap an EFL championship club. We’re reaping what we’ve sown.
  17. Glad you’re not my IFA
  18. That’s wasn’t my point
  19. Here you go Steve, this is what it looks like when you roll the dice st the right time.
  20. An appointment like Ryan Mason would be interesting, pretty sure he's available & this would be a great opportunity for him to build his career away from the Spurs caretaker roles. Will no doubt have great contact & has been around some high-pedigree managers to have developed strong ideas.
  21. This thread is going a bit OTT about Pearson. Nigel is a strong & vocal advocate of players earning their next contract and letting them run down to end of season. So it’s a bit hypocritical for him to get antsy & call out the club for doing the same. IMO Nigel should be managing up as well as down the club. If he could do that, this thread doesn’t exist. I like him & what he’s done for the club, but part of me does think that in principle maybe the club are right to see where we are at the end of the season. Anything sooner than that would be savage. Yes, I’m just as aware an anyone on here about the limitations & him not being backed and I too don’t have much faith in the clubs ability to source the next manager. Shame it’s coming to this as I would personally stick but I won’t be losing too much sleep either.
  22. In answer to your question: it’s most likely LJ & Holden were imposed on Ashton.
  23. I think Spike you may be closest to the truth. Not for one minute do I think his contract terms are linked to SL trying to sell the club. The money involved in a purchase would dwarf any compo & there needs be someone at the wheel. Pearson is taking us as far as he can, given the resources & naturally he wants to aim higher for the squad & fanbase. He’s telling the club what’s needed to progress but the club are intent on profitability & cashflow which is hard to align with guaranteed progression. There is so much Pearson brings to the table especially in terms of values & the work ethic he’s instilled. Could he get more out of the group? Debatable, but I think this might be where the disconnect is with the board. NP is popular with fans, hitting the financial brief, but I suspect SL is expecting more e.g Luton et al. So he’s a bit stuck when it comes to changing manager. I’m ok with a change of management next season if we’re clear on the direction of travel from the top of the club, however, the only real audible or visible leader at a senior level in the club is Nigel, so changing him becomes a huge risk as he’s driving culture more than the club. So if SL wants an easy life, surely a simple 2 year extension fill the brief & the silent board can continue to shuffle around in the shadows.
