  1. Article in a newspaper today that AI can manage sports teams better than humans can. Who programmes AI and why ain't he snapped up by one of thee top clubs?
  2. But then we picked up to finish 10th; odd season though. Blackpool promoted to the Prem. Doncaster 12th and Scunny above Palace. 3. Look on the bright side Constant midtable = no major fear of relegation for us fans. No need to pay out bonusses and increased salaries if we were promoted for the board to consider. We might not be too happy, but we remain what Rovers would like to be.
  4. I scrolled back on the forum to August when Nigel's City came up against Liam's Oxford. LM sounded a good bet for the future; In March 2023 they appointed Liam Manning as Head Coach. The 37 year old, first came to prominence as coach of the West Ham under-23 side before joining City Football Group and becoming first Director of Coaching at New York City FC and then Head Coach at Lommel FC in Belgium. He then enjoyed a successful spell at MK Dons where he guided the club to the play-off semi-final in his first season. Here is his first interview: https://youtu.be/segtq6fdboI They finished last season in nineteenth place in league one, enduring a campaign marred by a fling with relegation and a 17-game winless run. Like us they acted early in the transfer window to snap up the services of Ruben Rodrigues, Jordan Thorniley and Josh McEachran – all on free transfers due to their contracts expiring.
  5. That's because Man C are "A Big Club". Remember when Alan Sugar was in charge at Spurs? They were deducted 24 points for some reason. Alan S appealed against this and had the deduction reduced to twelve points. He still wasn't happy, so appealed again and ended up with zero points deduction.
  6. and the first game after the International break will witness (as always, check the records) a City defeat.

  8. A Leeds fan was bragging about how his team is now top of the Championship. I pointed out that Leicester have a game in hand on Leeds and their next game is v Bristol City. "You're not going to lose are you"? he asked "On our current form, yes" was my reply. "You ought to have more faith in your team. If QPR can beat Leicester, you can" was his comment.
  9. Andy would take a look at the set up and turn us down!
  10. Other clubs are worse than us though. Therefore the club doesn't have to fear the Prem with it's opposing teams, nor dropping down which would result in less sponsorship, tv fees ans gate receipts.
  11. I remember Dario Gradi complaining that Ashton Gate was intimidating and then a few years later City wanted to install a bubble machine so that when visitors WHU came out it would make them feel at home.

    FGR 0 Sutton 1. Damn! That was the must win game.
  13. OK; City appear to have been beaten again. My one consolation is they don't appear to have given up and are still trying. Professional pride, or just to cheer us fans up?
  14. OK folks; looks like we are in! http://www.fawanews.com/West Bromwich Albion vs Bristol City.html
  15. Sports 10 claim to be showing it; https://sports-10.com/west-brom-bristol-city/ So farfawanews is not advertising any 3.00pm KOs. I'll try nearer the time as their feed is more reliable.
  16. Why not Lockleaze; could Horfield (closed same time time as Ashley Hill), not be reopened?
  17. This question was discussed on the WBA forum; "If we have Weimann on loan then I imagine not. Presuming we sold TGH to them, he’ll be able to play against us."
  18. How to improve fortunes;
  19. If any clubs fold in the next few months, then some relegation spots might not be needed.
  20. Meanwhile a player who has represented England at U18 and U19 level has opted to play for Ghana's national team. Being cynical perhaps some players decide "I'm not quite good enough for England, but I can still be an International elsewhere". When my son was 18 he said "If I moved to somewhere like Andorra or Gibraltar now, in ten years time I'll be a naturalised citizen and at 28 still young enough to play football for their national team".
