    Christian Ribeiro Article (Merged)

True, but he also used to argue that Ribs wasn't a sicknote and if he wasn't playing it was down to poor management rather than issues with his fitness. Clearly there were much deeper issues, very sad for Ribs as he would have gone on to be a Prem-level RB if not for those.

    Promised land

Me too, would be amazing to win the FA Cup as that's something that is part of football history. The good thing is the money for getting to and staying in the PL would massively help towards this goal!

    Interesting comments by Freeman

I always felt Freeman's situation went like this: signed a 3 year deal at the start of 14/15 season, played fantastically that year. 15/16 had an absolutely terrible season, as a lot of our League One-winning squad did, the club decided to wait to offer a new deal as they were unsure Freeman could make the step-up to the Championship. 16/17 season, we signed more wide players in the summer (COD and Pato), Freeman was still given a chance and played well the first half of the season (Fulham away was a particularly stand-out performance). We decided moving into the last 6 months of his contract he'd shown he was capable of a place in the squad so offered him a new deal but under the proviso that he would be rotated with our other wide players as opposed to being a guaranteed starter as he was the previous 2 seasons, this probably meant he wasn't offered a "first-choice" wage. Freeman got the offer from QPR where he was guaranteed to play pretty much every game and decided to leave. Don't think the club or the player did anything wrong. We wouldn't have been happy if Freeman had been offered a new deal in the summer of 2016 based on his first season in the Championship with us, and Freeman left to play for a club where he was guaranteed to be a first choice starter every match.

    Freddie's Back!

Just looked it up, according to rule 15b of the FA Cup rule-book if you're an unused sub you're still eligible to play for another team, so Freddie has a decent chance of starting on Saturday, will almost certainly be in the squad.

    Tunnel Cam from Utd Game

Showed some of the side of Jose you don't see as well, made a lot of time for the mascots and many members of City staff, particularly Dean Holden.

    Nope, nor Woodrow

    Danny Rose

Rose was definitely played on the left wing here, but he'd only played on the wing for Spurs up until that point (he scored from the right wing on his debut against Arsenal with a young Gareth Bale playing on the left and Assou-Ekoto at LB). It wasn't until he went back to Spurs later that season after his loan was ended with us that 'Arry decided to convert him to a LB: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/9475303.stm Looked completely disinterested here and certainly didn't show any attributes to imply LB was going to be his future position. We'd have happily played him there that season as we were still relying on Macca who was in quite poor form at the start of the 2010-11 season.

    South Stand Nachos

Me and my brother shared a portion of them. They were absolutely delicious! Incredibly messy though as the bowls were stuffed to the brim, which is why we chose to eat them in our seats. Can't imagine the carnage we'd have unleashed on ourselves if we'd have tried eating them standing up in the concourse.

    Liam Rosenior

Didn't we arrange a trial for him in the summer of 2010 maybe, and then he signed for Hull without even notifying City he wasn't going to turn up for the trial?

Players that were better "live" than you thought.

Saw James Milner for Villa against Pompey in the Prem a few years back. He used to play as a number 10 then behind Agbonlahor and basically ran the game. Very calm on the ball and played countless pinpoint through-balls. It was a shame he went to Man City as he was so good on the ball in the middle of the park that he was wasted out on the right wing.
