  1. My main issue with Maynard was the fact that he was stringing the club along for the first half of the season claiming he wanted to sign a new contract with us, and then waited until January to finally admit he wanted to leave and put in a transfer request, meaning we had to get what we could for him at that point. It's much easier to maximise a fee for a player in the summer window, as with Flint, Reid and Bryan this season, than waiting until the last transfer window until their contract was up, forcing the club's hand into taking whatever money they could get for them at that point. We stuck by him through a season of serious injury and we were "rewarded" with disloyalty and a fee around £500K less than we originally paid for him.
  2. Don't think it's up to date, he's played 117 times for us: https://www.transfermarkt.com/josh-brownhill/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/293569
  3. Definitely between Brownhill, Kalas and Webster at the moment but Pato deserves a mention for his recent form. Think Palmer's signing has given him the competition he needed to up his game and he's been really influential in our recent winning run.
  4. Weird that this has been rescheduled when the Boro away game hasn't yet.
  5. Love reading threads like this. Game was way before my time (I was -2!) but it shows how important a match it was in our history when OTIB has a unanimously positive thread about anything! Despite not being alive for the dark 80's period I know as well as any City fan how important TC was in the history of our club and honestly hope that the club makes the right decision and names the South Stand after him while he's still around to receive the honour.
  6. Sat on a table in TGI's when it was practically empty, except on the table next to me JET and Marlon Harewood were eating together! It was right after the Rovers game, told JET his goal was incredible and they happily took a photo with me just before they left.
  7. I think Watkins did the presser for Sheff Utd and was on the bench this season didn't he? Not that I think Baker won't start, he and Webster did pretty well together on Friday.
  8. Hopefully the TBA act will appeal to more than just middle aged women.
  9. I find it hard to take an opinion on what football is all about seriously from someone who has Neil Kilkenny as their profile pic....
  10. I don't think a Now TV Sky Sports pass would cover the Red Button, I think you'd only get the main Sky Sports Football channel with whatever the "featured" game was, I could be wrong but I believe this is how it works.
  11. Really good performance yesterday, for me just behind Taylor and Eliasson as a candidate for MOTM. I think having Kalas in defence now also gives him more confidence to get forward and using his pace and power to get past opposition players.
  12. Also helps he's playing on the left now which is helping his crossing, rather than on the right last season where he was forced to cut inside every time to shoot/cross.
  13. The issue was exacerbated by our lack of ability to make the ball stick at anyone's feet. I actually think we miss that more from Fam's ban than his goals. We're always going to get goals from elsewhere in the team but not having someone strong enough to back into a defender with the ball at their feet and either turn or play off to one of our runners will be more of an issue. Hopefully someone like Watkins may be able to fill that void a little until Fam's back.
  14. There's a reason you can drink at baseball:
  15. He was injured for the last couple of months of his first season with us, that was probably it though. Osborne ended up being first choice over him, and probably would have started there for the promotion season if not for the horrendous injury he picked up in Botswana. How things might have been!
