  1. Good, because football is a billion pound business so we should be thankful we’ve got one of the best. Hopefully he keeps away from team talks and tactics but I’ve no issue with him addressing players in a ‘man management’ style to encourage the best out of the clubs valuable assets.
  2. At last, the penny is finally beginning to sink in for some of you . I’ve suggested this issue as the cause of the delay on a number of threads but it seemed to get overlooked by many. Glad you’ve given it its own thread as it might just make a few more to accept and calm down a bit.
  3. They did say that at the start and if they could wave a magic wand to make it happen they do that as well. For reasons unknown to us all that simply hasn’t happened so they’ve got to find the next best solution which obviously isn’t very palatable. If people who were interviewed, asked to take the job but didn’t want to come on the terms offered other than change those terms / conditions - which in the current climate is very risky, they simply won’t do it hence why where we are today.
  4. You could all have a day out in Guernsey, find a statue of SL and throw it in the harbour at St Peter Port?
  5. The best man or woman etc is the obvious way forward - but that person is only identified by the opinions of those interviewing the candidates, and unfortunately that’s no one on this forum. As much as we all want the best for the club the interview criteria is not just who the person is or what they’ve achieved, it’s everything else that goes with it like budget, personal terms and the staff they’d like to bring with them - and again no one on here has any evidence they can provide to use to prove otherwise. This is not FIFA 20 or whatever games people like to play when being a pre
  6. I assume you’ve got actual evidence of all this you’d like to share with us - or maybe just another guess / rumour to have a pop at someone who has always tried to ensure the club is ran correctly and hopefully increase his hard earned investment by the potential success of the club on the field as well as off it.
  7. You assume they like YES men because it suits your opinion, in reality they’re businessmen and they like MONEY - which comes from success, just not at all costs risking the progress we’ve made in the last 10 years or so We always were just punters even back in the ‘60s when I first went AG, and it was the working class in the standing areas and business men (suits..) in the best seats in the ground. They do consider fans opinions but they are the ones with the power and the responsibility to take us forward in the way they think is best for everyone - not just to suit a few classl
  8. Which is fine if the right players are available at the right price...
  9. Probably hot chocolate during the winter months to keep them warm bless ‘em? Just an excuse to address tactics but it stops the flow of the game which is one big bonus of games like rugby.
  10. As many have already said on here just because he’s not currently under contract to anyone it’s not that simple. Personal stuff obviously needs to be agreed but I suspect applicants of the calibration we hope to be attracting for the vacancy will also be interrogating the club regards budgets (not easy with Covid ongoing), club strategy and expectation regard youth players, assistants and backroom staff to buy into the new managers ‘identity’ plus acceptance of our own 5 pillars or what remains of them. No good accepting a nice wedge for yourself then find the piggy bank has been em
  11. Do you have specific information he’s not involved in other parts of his fathers empire or does it just suit your agenda to put out unsubstantiated info like that? As for others saying he’s a ‘spoilt baby man’, like royalty he can’t help being born into that family. What do they expect him to do for a job, go work in Tesco stacking shelves after having an excellent education at a private school funded by his self made millionaire father?? i suspect most people are very jealous of Jon’s lifestyle and would jump at the chance to be in his shoes.
  12. It might not be direct compensation but to ‘persuade’ Cook to leave Wigan we may have agreed to pay up his contract?
  13. Try this link https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/fewer-away-yellow-cards-in-empty-grounds-proves-bias-j3v8jgb9n
  14. We’re ALL individuals (LoB)
  15. Just because a few of our fancied names have actually applied for the job doesn’t mean the process is over, even better applicants may yet show their interest? There’ll be a deadline for applicants before the short list and interviews before final selection - who knows maybe Pep will fancy a real challenge .
  16. One of our neighbours kids who is four has been learning Spanish during the lockdown. But he still can’t say please in Spanish, which I think is poor for four.
  17. I’ve had a recurring dream where I think I’m a horse. 5 nights on the trot.
  18. That really is a great song to possibly run out to at our first home fixture after the lock down but could we also play the theme music to The Great Escape?
  19. Something else for the conspiracy theorists out there.... https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/books/2020/mar/05/theres-something-out-there-spread-of-disease
  20. It might just implode for a month or two- then it’ll be back with slightly higher prices to recoup their losses. No doubt the new contracts the sports channels offer will also be changed to prevent any future losses.
  21. Is the racing at Cheltenham still going ahead? I appreciate they’ve already had a few days of tens of thousands rolling around having a great time but it’s a bit odd that the ‘Sport of Kings’ gets the go ahead yet football in the same town gets cancelled.
  22. Maybe the club would be generous enough to make the Robins TV (or whatever it’s called) free to everyone during this difficult time? Those who have subscribed should get a few free months next season.
  23. Funnily enough the retired army major who gave us the lecture on Chinese espionage yesterday concluded his talk by saying we were probably doing the same thing when we created the empire.....
  24. That’s what happens when you eat bats and rats. Rather than push their agenda of extracting valuable minerals from African countries where they build roads and railways etc as a way to get covert information, they should put the effort in to producing proper food for their overpopulated country.
