At least we’re the first to play!
Ground staff will have their work cut out getting the surface back into its usual top condition after that weekend. -

I just copy the neighbours - it’s far easier.
Even better - put your bin out on an odd day, watch the neighbours panic and put theirs out, then sneakily pull yours back in.....

No comments required - it's a simple 'Yes or No' poll.
How do OTIB posters feel about the Lansdowns staying or going?
As per all of these polls, apart from percentages there’s no transparency on actual numbers of people who bothered to vote.
Please provide numbers - not percentages, so we can see how many of the fan base bothered to vote one way or the other.
I doubt very much if the total figures will reach the 600 or so who had to endure yesterdays game let alone the coming W Ham game.
Remember, if the majority - who vote - go for Lansdown out, that’s nowhere near the majority of the fan base, only those who bothered to vote.
As good as though this forum is it’s not 100% of the fan base of this club.- 1

Newport or Eastleigh v Man Utd is a beautiful FA tie
It annoys me when the person commentating on the draw sees the Tottenham v Man City tie and says it’s the standout draw (or similar).
They play each other twice a year in their own League !The beauty of the FA cup is the chance to see teams you don’t usually see play against your team and you dare to dream of a win.

In today's world, I really don't know why anybody should be mentioning this. What has the colour of his skin tone got to do with him being any good as a referee?
Nothing.
It’s worth mentioning as it proves the point that anyone can - and should do it without fear of prejudice? It might lead the way for others who may fear discrimination of whatever sort for whatever ‘reason’.
When people from other minority groups are qualified enough and good enough they too could get elevated to that level - then it will become the norm to see them regularly and then - there won’t be any need to mention it on here no more than a referee who has ginger hair etc
The OP didn’t say about how good he was as a ref other than an inference that he was good enough to referee in the Prem.

Having looked at the First Bus website, it looks as if the only bus running on New Year's Day is the A1 airport bus.
Which leaves only a few options.
Uber - New Years Day, likely to be expensive.
Drive - Entirely dependent on how much I enjoyed NYE, but it comes with a parking challenge.
Walk - Never gonna happen.
Try and find a stream - looking increasingly likely.
If you find a stream I’m happy to share a kayak as long as I’m driving!

I like Brussels sprouts, with bacon (or poitrine fumée) as mentioned above, with added walnuts.
I also like parsnips, either roasted alongside the potatoes (and carrots) or, with some swede, added to boiled potatoes and mashed.
This Boxing Day I shall be serving ‘Jingle Hash’ - aka Bubble ‘n Squeak Xmas style:-
Leftover over roasties fried up, chestnuts, bacon, leeks, sprouts.Cold meats (Turkey, gammon slices - cooked in Coke).
Cranberry and posh stuffing on the side plus Pickles - gherkin, silverskin onions, red cabbage & fig & honey chutney.

Sounded like an interesting evening with a few people taking the opportunity to get direct answers from those who really know rather than people on here taking a guess.
I assume the crew from the Dolman stand left the obligatory 15 minutes before the end of the evening?

It could be a tactic we might try in the future, having our stewards wear the same colours as the opposition.
Might be a bit pricey over the season with so many different coloured shirts - but every little helps…..Excellent point for Luton.

Just bloody own your decisions - say Pearson was hard to work with, he didn't do things the way the club wanted, he wouldn't accept a lack of control, whatever it was. Stop this naval gazing bollocks with your stupid corporate hat on and explain ffs.
Don’t raise your hopes too much - just what sort of reception do you think JL would get if he has the balls to go on to the pitch before next game? He’d get shouted and jeered at by thousands of people, and no doubt a few would try to get on the pitch to give him some advice and ask for the keys to ‘their club’ back.
You might get some explanation on social media but it whatever happens most fans won’t be trusting them again for a long time.Demanding - and expecting - them to walk away is ridiculous. It’s a multi million pound business which has already been for sale for a while and we’ve seen or heard of little interest so sadly we will have to continue with the Lansdowns ownership for a while yet.
I’d be surprised (but delighted) if any of the new infrastructure such as the new Sporting Wuarter development progresses any further than it already has. -

Gonna look great when you have to knock it down!
You don’t need to knock it down - it just folds flat (minus a few fasteners) back into its box

Have the Lansdowns any idea of the fans reaction? No concern for the fans only the amount of money the club is now worth and 5he profit they can make
Any profit? Not backing the Lansdowns as such but you do realise he has put in about £250M into the club during his time here? Obviously we all like more spent on the team itself but to attract top players you need good facilities.
Once the ownership of the club changes you might see a few bob spent on players but forget the rest of it, Conway and any other promising youngsters will be sold then we’ll be starting all over again.
The structure of the club will make it difficult for a new owner to come in and ‘make a profit’. The facilities like conferencing etc underpin the financial structure of the club and that will still be owned by Bristol Sport / Pula or whoever. -

These night time closures are a pain and they don’t always seem to announce them,
Might be worth checking on the one.network website which all the utility companies use for notifying work being done? It can be set for today, next few weeks or 6 months.
Obviously emergency closures for a few hours won’t get posted but it might be worth checking for any journeys you need to do?

First time I’ve used it this season and thought it was my set up!
Dreadful service from15 mins in, I chopped and changed various settings but to no avail.
Bit of a wasted flight to Toronto….just to watch that pixelated screen for most of the match…safely back home now in Brizzle, no jet lag at all . -

Maybe it’s because we have space to allow folk to go where they want to go, and we’ve got more ‘folk’ to accommodate?
