  1. How does it compare to other teams in the Champinship? Find that out then you can make an informed decision. I haven’t time or be bothered to go look myself - just to try to fuel the LJ out campaign, so you’ll have to find it yourselves.
  2. I don't care if the manger has green & purple skin with orange eyes, it should be the best person (within budget etc.) available at the time of appointment to be chosen to do the job required. As a society we don't have to have an equal number of black managers as there are white ones, if we play by natures rules it'll be near enough the same ratio of black / white people in that country (with the exception for foreign based managers). Do any of the politically correct people check to see white people are equally represented in a predominately black society? I doubt it very much.
  3. It’s all about confidence regardless of how we won. Tonight’s result should give the team that bit more belief, we all need to get behind them on Sunday from the start and avoid any edgy atmosphere.
  4. And that’s exactly what too many on here fail to understand - look at the bottom of the forum to see how many are active over a period of a week or so and then work out what percentage of our average gate they represent - it’s not many. This forum only represents a few of the more vocal supporters at the club and in no way is it what the overall majority think.
  5. Incomparable. Look at today’s date - it’s November not February, so quite simply we have not played the same number of games this season as we had by the time he was brought in, to try to accumulate the same number of points. IF we don’t have similar points after a similar number of games then yes you’d be right to try to compare but until then it’s best you try to think of yet another thread you can start to attack LJ with.
  6. What needs to be reiterated on here time and again is this forum is not representative of the opinions of all supporters. A lot of supporters, for their own reasons choose not to come on here so what we see is a minority of vocal people, some who like the sound of their own voice, others who try to stimulate reasoned debate, but it’s not the entire fan base It’d be interesting to know how many people keep away from this forum after a loss as they know the same old arguments will be wheeled out and therefore choose to stay away rather have endless ‘debate’. There will inevitably be
  7. I’d be surprised if Johnson even bothers to turn up today!
  8. Whatever you do don’t start tinkering or you’ll get accused of not knowing your best team / formation...
  9. Best place for real ale is the Nags Head, 10 minutes from the station 5 Russell St, Reading, RG1 7XD. Also the close by Castle Tap is also good 120 Castle St, Reading, RG1 7RJ. More towards the centre of town is Pavlovs Dog 21-23 St Mary's Butts, Reading, RG1 2LN all good, propr boozers with good beer
  10. Yep, great day out and I’ve still got the flag from the day hung in my garage!
  11. I once went out with a girl who had hair under one armpit - I think she was half French?
  12. These players are near the top of a very well profession, I doubt the majority of us are at the top end of the pay scale in our jobs, if we were we’d be up with the prawn sandwich brigade. Lloyd is no doubt quality and hungry for games but he needs to be managed correctly so he reaches his full potential - hopefully with us, at least for a while.

    63 3/4 is not elderly!
  14. Red DNA

So did I. He also, with other players, came to our house to collect the money we ‘agents’ collected for the City draw. Most of the players took turns in collecting the cash, Dickie Rooks, Terry Bush, Gordon Parr (lived just a few streets away, in slightly posher area of Knowledge West!) and so many more I can’t list them all here tonight. Happy days, nice to have the opportunity to meet players in your own home for a chat and an autograph.

Unfortunately technology has not advanced enough to let dead people vote, even on line. I can hardly cope with the technology to do what I want to do let alone the really now very elderly or sick who would have seen Gibson play in the flesh - not just cold stats.
  16. Red DNA

Probably because most people who actually watched Gibson are either not around or are at an age they don’t participate in phone ins. All 3 were great keepers at different times in different eras so it’s difficult to compare like with like unless you have time to check how average number of goals they conceded during their time with us, and frankly I’ve got better things to do right now. 17. Star Wars? No Bond film? No Game of Thrones? No (been to Dubrovnik twice though and apparently walked through many of the locations episodes were filmed at). Friends? No -shudder at just hearing that inane tune let alone the canned ‘laughter’. Big Bother? No I’m a ‘celebrity’ get me out of here? No Inside many pubs interacting with real people? YES!
  18. Isn’t there a Thomas Ware scrapyard on Feeder Rd, maybe a connection?
  19. The stadium costs will have increased because of the additional sports being played there. In reality, with such a huge infrastructure the more it’s used - not just for sport but conferences etc it should help the overhead costs. Never the less this thread is non football so please move it to the appropriate place.
  20. Was the sports teacher Jim ...? i recall Keith Fear being in the school team, never good enough myself but there until '71. Mr Parry the French teacher, Mr Plant - the biology teacher etc. When they moved to Daventry Rd it was just around the corner, too late for me then.
