  1. First half I thought he had a couple of questionable moments, but second half he's kept Kiefer Moore quiet and defended well.
  2. I like him when he drives at the opposition with the ball, but then his decision making is so often just abysmal.
  3. Agree I don't think COD has been bad, but the midfield is starting to look very much like Nagy v Cardiff.
  4. Think we've been pretty decent, would probably consider having Rowe on for COD, would like Massengo, but I think we need some more height as we are relying height as we are relying on Cardiff wasting chances from crosses rather than decent defending.
  5. To be fair the results are about where I expected, little change from previous seasons, and I agree the broad approach has changed. What concerns me is the same that concerned me last season and under Johnson. Holden to me does not have the tactical nouse in the exact same way that Johnson didn't. We all enjoyed the first 4 games, but surely everyone could see that the 1 man midfield was going to be a massive issue the second we played a team with a decent midfield (Stoke had only just put theirs together and seems to have taken time to get going) we were absolutely battered by cov for l
  6. Agree but then he wouldn't be plaubg here as we are stuck playing 5-3-2 and seem to actively not want any width as Neither Hunt or Dasilva will attack the byline, so having Nic would be a complete waste of time. At the end of the day we have picked a manager that was an integral part of of the regime that failed previously, we really cannot be surprised when we then show the majority of the same traits that we showed before. We are pedestrian going forward with no real creativity, we do not apply pressure on the opposition when we do dominate choosing to pat the ball around 40/50 y
  7. This to me is a complete sham and an attempt to take advantage of the desparation of EFL clubs to push through a massive power grab. The Glazers cannot even be trusted to run Man U let alone have any stake in the status of the whole pyramid. The Premier League need to get their shit together and put forward a reasonable plan of their own, for me the most sensible option is in effect you bail out the EFL with a mortgage. 250 million to be replayed over 50 years or something like that but with conditions that the EFL get their house in order, with wage caps and stringent rules on financial
  8. Yea seems sensible, saves people with multiple tickets being in different positions to people with just one, giving everyone the money back and then you pay for the stream seems the best way for me.
  9. I agree on both counts, but you are eventually in a tournament going to have to beat a decent side, so far we have shown as soon as we find one of them we lose. We do have a better squad, but that midfield terrifies me, because it says to me even at full strength we are going to play a dull midfield devoid of creativity and a defence that is dodgy.
  10. We also lost at the first sight of a half decent side, so I'm not sure we can read too much into that.
  11. Tarkowski has been the highest rated CB this season other than VVD in the top 5 leagues in Europe, yet still can't get in the England squad ahead of Dier and Keane who are gash.
  12. Get arrested and allegedly assault a Greek police officer, gets you in the squad, maybe Grealish should have twatted some coppers. Eric Dier in that squad ahead of Tarkowski, Dunk, is a ******* joke. Jesus Webby has been better than Dier at CB this season.

Why do you have to build a side around Wells? He's got a slightly better a scoring rate than Fam at this level (edit, turns out he doesn't and Fam has a better scoring record at this level.) , people get excited as he tends to bunch his goals together in certain seasons, yes he could potentially score 20 in a season, but he could also score less than 10 which he has done more than once at this level. 14/15 - 11 goals in 33 games, 15/16 - 17 in 45 games, 16/17 - 10 in 46 17/18 - 7 in 40 18/19 - 7 in 40 19/20 - 18 in 43 246 games - 70 goals at 0.28 goals per
  14. I assume we have just binned of the offside rule completely? I believe it's wording is still a player is offside if they are seeking to gain an advantage by being in an offside position? Or have they changed that as well? And how in the name of christ can you not be interfering with play if the ball goes through your legs?
  15. I do agree but considering where Lyon finished in League 1 I don't think they were being as bad as they often are.
  16. Don't think they were being that bad, if Real Madrid were playing Wolves would it not be justified for them to be heavy favourites, Lyon were not all that good in the League this season so went into this game as big underdogs.
  17. Let's face it an interview for a football manager is not a normal job interview, we would not have been asking questions of Houghton ability or suitability for the role as a football manager as that is known. The interview is for all intents and purposes a contract negotiation, in the "interviews" the board and Hughton will have been talking about the playing budget, the level of control required by the prospective manager, backroom staff etc etc. It's perfectly possible that from the clubs point of view Hughton did not interview "well" as he may have had certain red lines, I expec

They've slashed their asking price for Butland as he was shit last season and ended up not even being first choice I believe. They are looking the shift the 4 players I saw a tweet about (from your post I think) none of whice seem to be players that the Stoke fans are despaprate to keep, they should be able to get 15 - 20 million for them and Butland, so it's not as if they are up shits creek without a paddle.
  19. Alfonso Davis is some player.
  20. It will be difficult yes, but Man City have to think if the can defend better than a pub team they have every chance of beating Bayern as Sterling, Jesus and Silva will have a field day they way Bayern are defending.
  21. Now it might just be that I found the world's most optimistic football fans forum, but the fact that the vast majority of them seem to be chuffed with this appointment does not make me think they have gone for a "cheap" option, he has done well at lower levels and well at something like a similar level with PAOK. To me this screams more Cook level appointment rather than an unknown bloke that they gave pulled out their arse.
  22. Indeed, also not liking the whole Holden is his own man stuff implying that he was ignored by Lee. If he really was his own man he would not have put up with a boss that ignored him for 4 years.
  23. I don't think UEFA need to relax their rules, as the vast majority of the clubs they actually care about are not in any way reliant on gate receipts, let's face it they could play all top flight football behind closed doors next season and the impact on revenue for clubs in the big 4 leagues would be negligible at best, for the prem in particular the vast, vast majority of their income of from TV money, and the majority of that is from foreign TV money. So I don't see Why UEFA would need to do anything. I would be surprised if we see Salary caps brought in in the championship, as I don't
  24. I agree with a lot of that, and it definitely will be interesting to see what happens, I think FFP rules will be relaxed, but this is the EFL so God knows what will actually happen. I think you will actually see the effects 2/4 years down the line as the lure of 100+ million will still be too big a carrot for teams not to spend money, and coupled with a relaxation in FFP rules for a year or 2 it presents opportunities for most clubs, as we are not that outside of the norm having an owner happy to put in a shit ton of money when needed, most of the top half of this league have owners with
